Adidas Investigates Bribery Allegations in China After Whistleblower Letter | Firstpost America
Adidas has launched an investigation into allegations of large-scale bribery in China after the company received a whistleblower complaint accusing senior staff of fraud. The anonymous letter, claimed to be written by "employees of Adidas China", named several Chinese Adidas employees, including a senior manager involved with the country's marketing budget of $267.5 million. The German sportswear company stated that it was investigating the matter with external legal counsel and mentioned that the company takes the allegations very seriously. China was a growth engine for adidas before the pandemic, but demands dried up as the shoppers began boycotting western brands.
