Lyrics:
The schism has succumbed to militant decadence
Boundaries perverted, the populous ravenous
Their rights have been compromised
Forced into battle to keep what they own
Plotting the new reign, the parliament ponders
Seizing the motherland after disbandment
Caught in between these brutal objectives
Resorting to violence they're eaten alive
Death
This civil division has far surpassed humility
Defiling the dissident, their lack is evident
They have completely descended to murder
Children play day and night with severed heads
Inhuman execution
Slashing of throats
Mass despoliations
Death in vain
Frenzied grabbing for the closest weapon
Kill or be killed becomes the new way
Keep plunging down the rabbit hole
Resolution through cruelty
Internal strife
Newborns have been torn away from wailing mothers
The future of a nation mutilated, smothered
Displayed as a warning
Bodies left uncovered
And to this day, it can be seen
Unreconciled divide
This dark path was placed by politician hands
Residents now fear the once coveted moonlight
Luscious sculpture, who's glory once had gushed
Supplanted by such beauty and disgust
Species of savages
Persistent penitence
Evident lack of a shred of humanity
Macabre obsession
Removal of men keeps on fueling the passion
Stalking the rooftops they gaze down with penance
They'll be the ones who take care of the menace
Harder and harder, these two sides collide
Intensified genocide
Eaten alive
Civil division has far surpassed humility
Their lack is evident as they defile the dissident
They have completely descended to murder
Children play day and night with severed heads
Inhuman executions
Slashing of throats
Mass despoliations
Death in vain
Frenzied grabbing for the closest weapon
Kill or be killed becomes the new way
Keep plunging down the rabbit hole
They've beaten this dead horse to mush
They cannot stop these ferocious urges
They plunge the knife deeper into the throat of democracy
Slowly carving the head from the neck
This dark path was placed by politician hands
Residents now fear the once coveted moonlight
Luscious sculpture, whose glory once had gushed
Supplanted by such beauty and disgust
Shrouded foulness, the soul inside observed
Shrieks of anguish
Cremation will be served
Bathe in the blood
The blade unjust lost control
Into the furnace, Into the hole
They bathe in the blood
The blade unjust lost control
Into the furnace, Into the hole

Chris Wiseman can do no wrong, everything he touches turns to gold.
Currents, shadow of intent and Our eternity? Yea I’d say so lmao
I read Chris Weidman and was very confused for a second
Ehhhhh the new currents album was mediocre at best but otherwise I totally agree
You might say he has the....midas touch
@@kellysandifer623 lmfao
Ben Duerr's singing is so fast, clear and delieved in such a unique way.
He's giving the genre a new standard.
Brillant
Ehhh Ben is incredible but I wouldn't use "clear" to define him at all. It's tough to follow along with the lyrics. Speed is one thing, but clarity is another. That happens when you're screaming and shoving multiple syllables into a smaller phrase to fit a verse.
@@corbineisel9342 Well, for me M Eisel, i find it easy to follow him.
I think the singer from Acrania in clarity is better, listen to him
He's gotten more brutal an faster love it
He was low-key rapping and flowing
Outstanding. Lyrically and aesthetically moving more in a traditional death metal route while still having the unique quality that is Shadow of Intent. No one does it like these guys. I love it.
Absolutely.
Their one of the best in the scene right now🤘🔥
Yessss. This is how you evolve as a band.
@@theMelvinShow lmao I don't blame you. It's usually nothing too "deep". At least I personally don't connect in any way with most of it. If it sounds cool, that's good enough for me
@@VinnyChezni Well I mean... Anger, disposition, depression etc. Metal music is just every negative emotion and human thought, the savagery of our race put into words, every man is capable of horrible things, that's what makes death metal so brutal, it's real....
@@VinnyChezni also its pretty fucking hard to decipher what they're screaming
I'm not at all exaggerating when I call them geniuses. This is the band that got me into melodic deathcore more than 4 years ago. They remain the best to this day.
No doubt Chris Wiseman is one of the best active songwriters today. Between SOI and Currents, he’s just too good.
This new drummer from Contrarian is the shit....
@C B I got ur back bro
This is Symphonic Deathcore 🖤
This is not melodic deathcore, beetch pls. If you call it melodic deathcore then you know nothing about something being "melodic" xd.
At this point, they are no longer paying homage to the genre and creating their space, but leading the future. Good job
they switched to tech/symphonic death metal.

understandable
Every song I hear with Ben's vocals I'm impressed, absolute beast
Ben is one of, if not the best vocalist in deathcore but he's not showing it here. This is their least impressive song when it comes to vocals.
I mean he's one of the most talented vocalist in deathcore right now, he can do death growl and shrieking vocals kind of stuff.

Never really been a death core fan, and I’ve only just got into SOI within like the last month, but if they’re going along more of death metal/melodic vibe then fuck me im along for the ride
Every song I’ve heard has kept me holding on, they’re a fantastic band and Wiseman is definitely up there with the best songwriters in the whole metal scene
You’re exactly right. Take a look at Bens Instagram once, it’s filled with straight up death metal and other genres that definitely aren’t deathcore.

Shadow Of Intent is the greatest thing that has happened to metal in recent years. It's the band I wish was there when I was a teenager and entered this realm in the first place.
I love a breakdown as much as anyone else.
But this right here is a masterpiece. Unrelentingly punishing without a single breakdown. Just pure, razor sharp savagery and elegance.
I know I'm gonna miss some breakdowns but ben said on his twitch or band's twitch that they wan't to move on to the Death metal side more

The accumulative length of the bands hair is in direct correlation to how much death metal will be present.
Underrated comment.
Precisely
I’m a newbie to this band don’t mind admitting that. These guys along with Lorna and STP are at the top Of my deathcore list. Bens vocals are amazing!
They aren't deathcore anymore.
@@TobikunOuO yeah but majority of their music still is so I think it's still fine to keep referring them as deathcore for now. While I agree that they are definitely leaning towards deathmetal, majority of listeners are from the deathcore fan base
couldnt have said it better
@Adam Hill I disagree heavily, but it's just a matter of preference
Nearly melodic death metal now
This band is underrated and they’ve put out some of the best this genre has
If still think they are the top tier of their genre.
@Fractal Chaos It makes a point, when subpar bands of the gender have way more hype and sells.
@Fractal Chaos We've hit that point where anything in the metal and hardcore community is now considered underrated for no other reason than to garner likes on a comment.
@Fractal Chaos I don’t think you understand views. Views isn’t just new viewers. It’s anytime someone looks at the video. They also are often not mentioned in media discussions. So if your whole goal was to be a contrarian feel free to scroll on by. I’m not really in the mood to argue with you.
@Fractal Chaos I think you are a bit confused, I said record sales, not UA-cam views.
These guys are just not missing , this song is amazing. New drummer seems like a great fit for the band !
Bryce is amazing, saw him do a cover of Barren and Breathless Macrocosm and he nailed it

fr. They all have extremely long hair. This would literally be Beyond Creation if they all grew facial hair and added a fretless bass to the mix, lole.
This is incredible! I’m absolutely hooked on the deathcore/black metal infusion and absolutely love this song; I prefer the “opera/orchestra” sound over breakdowns or melodic riffs these days and this was exactly what I was hoping for their new material to sound like. New Shadow of Intent AND Brand of Sacrifice this year: it’s a great year for metal.
Where is the black metal here though??
@@TravisRyan9 can we please not get into that, don’t ruin my vibe. I’m not a black metal specialist, and have been appreciating black metal elements a lot for the past couple of years; Ben has stated in an interview a while back that their guitarist brought those elements to the band and since then you’re seeing it a lot now with other bands. I don’t mean to sound like an elitist or disrespect the proper definition of black metal, just want to appreciate the sound that bands like this bring and it’s what I’ve been hooked on more than anything these days.

As a Metalhead, I see modern times reflected in the lyrics. As a Halo Nerd, it's a description of The Great Schism. Melancholic melodies and beautiful riffs abound this tune! 🖤🤘
Thanks for clarifying that. I was sitting here wondering to myself, “what halo lore is this from” 🤔 lol

There's no black metal in this one.
@@jborreggine8759 There is imo
@@jborreggine8759 don't get me wrong i didn't say the black metal riffs or symphonies, i said the ben's vocal rhythms and flows are similar to some dimmu borgir and carach angren songs even through he's doing straight lows
Chris has an incredible way of writing melodies that Ben is able to perfectly mingle with his lyrical placement and cadence. His vocal content isn't the focal point which is amazing, especially in deathcore, and he is almost more like a percussive instrument adding more sustain to the music itself.
Everytime I think they set the mark to high and won´t be able to up their last album.. they come up with something like this. Absolutely insane! Can´t wait to see you guys tour europe!
