Oh what I’d give to have your scraps!!!! 😊 You make the color managing look so easy. Mine never comes out looking as good as yours. I could listen to you talk all night. It really is like sitting here talking with an old friend. Thanks for all you do Tinna ❤
there are 2 more aspects you can add to this...1) The Neutrals....black, white, gray and brown go with ANY color combo....adding a neutral as a tertiary (third) can make the actual colors pop more....2) light/dark contrast....to make colors pop more do a light next to a dark.....2 darks next to each other or 2 lights next to each other forces both colors to compete for the center stage which mutes them together and most of the time it's an icky mess....but to prevent that, put a light color next to a dark....they will nestle together like a glove and lift each other into the spotlight
My grandmother was known for her unusual color combos in her granny square quilts. When I asked her how she chose her colors, she told me she put all of her yarn in a black plastic trash bag and then blindly reached in the bag and picked one! Over the years I've come to realize that her method was brilliant for breaking out of the comfort zone.
I heard your explanation from your Havana video and have used that technique ever since, and I've made some beautiful things. I love putting in a strand of neon every now and then just for fun. Thank you so much for all of your inspiration! People say I'm good with color thanks to you! Have a good weekend!
Love all your worked crochet projects and tips/tricks!. This particular video is one of my favorites. The school on the color wheel is explained with experience and beautiful project examples. 😍 Have you thought about creating a magazine with specific editions/projects/seasonal/etc.? I think this kind of offer would combined patterns and the genre all in one. Or a yearly magazine subscription with monthly patterns and instructions. Oh, of course, all your great professional grade photos. Whada think?
Thank you so much ❤️ and thank you for the good idea and encouragement 🙏🏽 it’s just that I’m a one woman show here and would then have to do it all myself! 😅 I do want to self publish a book at some point, but I like to concentrate my work hours on designing new patterns ❤️ you can always print out the patterns yourself , I always try to have a neat look and front page on them ❤️
Tinna, thank you so much for making this puzzle so clear! I have been so frustrated with the dcs and scs and now I don't hate them. You are a fantastic teacher and inspire confidence to give things a go. One favour to ask - could you possibly do a video on how to keep to a pattern when you are in the round and having to increase as in a round basket bottom? My maths is hopeless with increasing stitches and then growing the pattern at the same time. If this request comes up a lot it would be wonderful . Many thanks for being a shining star out there.
Just started following you and seen sa few videos, and I love your Talent, I want to be your BFF😂, I totally love all your work, Thank you for your hard works.. I am a newbie with Mosaic crochet!! And I want to learn more about it. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos and purchasing more patterns!!
Tinna thank you for this! I am so happy bc when I started mosaic I only used 2 colors light and dark……with the rubric I am experimenting with different colors! So exciting!❤
I made your Queen Mosaic blanket pattern in a color wheel/rainbow fashion, and I have gotten so many compliments on it. I tell people about your channel and how your teaching method gave me the courage to try. Once I got past about 20 rows, I began to find the ‘groove’ you talked about and it was fun!🤗. Winters are long here in Canada 🇨🇦as well so it helps to do a nice crochet project👍🏻 thank you Tinna 💕
Love this video! Love your enthusiasm! Love your joy of creating! Thank you for the coupon code. Now I have three patterns of yours that I need to make!! So glad I stumbled upon your videos!
Absolutely wonderful your work! My first attempts in this mosaic crochet world were with you, about 3 or 4 years ago. And I always tell people about your pieces as "artwork that could be hanging on the walls of an art gallery". It's amazing! Recently I've introduced you to a group of friends here in Brazil and they went nuts with what they've seen. One of them sent me the picture of her first mosaic crochet piece the following day. Thank you for teaching us! Now you've brought exactly what I needed! I've always thought about how you choose the colors you use because I could never get the results you have (and we can see that's natural of you). I could only notice you worked with this "degradé" effect between two colors, which I could notice, but could reproduce. Now it's easier to understand, although I still know it's an artistic aspect I got to develop. Thank you once again for your availability to teach us! A shout out from Brazil! Keep up with the astonishing work!😊
This was so much fun! I love the way you explain color and the joy you bring to it. I'm going to go check out your patterns. I just made a cowl for my mom using your beginner mosaic pattern and cannot wait for her birthday in a week to give it to her. Happy crocheting 💚🧶💚
Hello Sweet Tinna! This was SO helpful. Yeah, I've always been "mad" at you for telling us basically to just wing it color-wise. I've done a lot of things that to me were ugly. This will definitely help for my next project! And...............I forgive you for taking so long! I've only been waiting 4 years for this! LOL!😁
This was really great, and you answered a lot of my questions about how you choose colors for your gorgeous projects. The colors would have been a lot easier to see if your ceiling light was in front of you in the camera view rather than behind you. A lot of the examples you held up were in shadow as your moved closer to the camera, but lots brighter to see as you moved back behind the ceiling light so that the light fell on the projects. I love your work and you have taught me so much! Thank you for all you do!
Thank you so much for this Tinna. I’ve recently started the Havana and I can’t put it down 😂. I’ve been zooming in and out of your versions to get hints on colours so this video has been really helpful. I think I’m heading in the right direction. ❤
Thank you Tinna...really helpful... I m encouraged... I have not started my Havanna exactly because I don't know what colors to pick... but I encouraged....thank you again
So happy to hear that! Do check out my old video I made on the double colour fade for Havana, there I show this in more detail 😘 Sorry about the sound 🙈 this was one of my first videos ever 🫶🏽😂 ua-cam.com/video/7_JpQ1mNEUA/v-deo.htmlsi=duqgqwUkWUK5Ru_L
Thank you so much for your explanation of colour theory. Friends + family! I haven't tried the fade yet. Really want to get the Scheepjes box for the your rubic ... maybe I should get 2 for a really big blanket! Their boxes make me smile! Hugs from Canada 🇨🇦
Hello Tinna, Thank you, for sharing the way you use a color, the color theory wheel. I struggle with color, but the Ombre skeins have helped me, and now I have gotten braver throwing colors together. 😊 Enjoyed the video, thank you so much.
oooooh happy Weekend Tinna! Thank you for posting the pattern discount! I love the color wheel thing, and the way you choose your colors. I will be making a smaller psychedelic Amma cal 1 for my daughter's friend for his birthday, I hope I can finish it on time, and I will make another Amma cal blanket to represent both sides of our family. I have been collecting wool for a while now for it. The design of yours to represent my husband's lineage and the colors to represent mine. My daughter's friend had such a reaction to that one I made, so excited, I never saw a man so excited about a blanket. Even the man fixing the roof, he came through the living room and saw it on the table I was working on it, he was admiring it! I had to work on it on a table it was so heavy! I have made so many things but never have I made anything crochet to receive such a reaction from men, they usually don't appear to care much about that stuff. Your design has been a great "hit" with everyone that has seen it :) I got a big kick out of that though, usually men do not comment like that about blankets. Thank you for that pattern. I look forward to making more of them.
I love your words for the colour theory! Fun! I had a few of your patterns queued up on my favorites and so just bought them! Thank you for the code. I'm still confused reading the Terranzzo afghan as I want to do similar to yours but the A colour is changing even in the same round and the suggested yarn is a solid. Perhaps I'll just grab a hook and have a go! I love your sunny presence and loved doing the Whoopa and hearing your stories and jokes while I worked (played). Much love from Okanagan BC Canada!!! ❤
Oh this makes me all around very happy! Thank you for your support 🙏🏽✨ and yes. Just give the terrazzo a go! I have a video for it available on my channel, best way is to just go for it and see how you like the colors and how they line up. Worst case scenario is you have to frog a bit, which is obviously not the end of the world! 😉😂❤️😘
Love colour and your explanation of the theory of colour I understood perfectly! Will use your inspiration as a guidance in all my crafts. Thank you Tina. I so do get inspired every time I watch any of your videos. ❤❤
Ohh in my younger days I learned a lot about colours, so thats is no struggle. But finding a yarn in wool or 50/50% with enough colours in them an at a reasonable price...thats a hole other story!!🤪

That is an excellent observation about combos in the nature. I will take this to heart thank you ✨🤸🏻♀️ and about the clashing colors I honestly don’t know, but will give it a think and some research ✨❤️
They go between yellow and orange sort of. Do google COLOR WHEEL and you’ll get up pics of lots of fancy and more detailed ones than the one I drew up to use here 😉❤️😘
Thank you, Tina and yes, I am going to take advantage of that 50% OK I have a question. I don’t like using PayPal. I like using my charge card for my airline so I can travel so my Alaska airline card is what I like to use. I’m getting double charged if I use PayPalis charging me. Also, I even canceled my PayPal altogether so it wouldn’t happen and it still happened. What do you do please help
Oh I’m sorry love, I have no solutions there. I only sell on Ravelry because it’s way too much work that goes into maintaining a whole website on my own. You should be able to buy through PayPal with your normal credit card ❤️ if not, maybe someone around you uses PayPal and could do the transaction for you? Hope you find a solution 😘😘😘
Your color choices are so excellent. You make it seem easy but it’s not. The color wheel helps but you have an innate talent in that department. Hoping to try some of your cool mosaic patterns soon!
Thank you so much! And yes, I know some people understand colors just on another level 😅🫶🏽 but that isn’t to say that everyone can’t always practice the skill and get better at it ❤️ hope you give some of my patterns a go, yay! 🤸🏻♀️❤️😘

Is the discount code open to everyone? I can see the code 😢
Yes of course, it’s here above for everyone to see, in the description. But if you can’t find that, the code is: PINK
😘😘😘
Thanks Tinna. I don't know why I can't see it. I will be going window shopping to see what I'll buy. Best to use it well 😜
