- First off sorry for the late video (again)! It turns out Premiere didn't like the plugins I was using so I had to unedit the video somewhat before it would stop crashing my GPU while encoding.

After following this guide I can confirm that hr 5 and 6 is pure, ungodly pain.
BUT! The moment you hit G rank and get the new weapons and extreme style as well as access to some easy amazing builds my enjoyment was re-kindled. The suffering was worth it.

The game is good but the community in this server is bad Rain server, global players specially the old players instead of helping they talk to you sarcastically when you ask something. Hr 5 to 6 is hell and zenith minster is chaotic. And you mostly need road to make a good MR build.

This came at a great time for me! Im currently HR6, I spunked pretty much all my gcp on partner skills and monster parts. I wish I hadnt done that, so now I have to rely on passively getting them

@@reinverseVT Anyway to increase my odds of getting more? I know you mentioned the amount of points depends on how long the quest lasts. Would it work if I picked the “prepare for g rank” event and then purposefully waited at the camp for 40ish mins, then went in and killed the kut ku in literal seconds?
@@freddoesvox9033 Farming GCP before GR50 is suffering, I wouldn't bother. Check your Navi to see if you have a any missions that give tickets. IIRC there's an SR tab in there with a lot of them

I just reached high rank and its been a huge difficulty spike, im loving the changes to all the weapons in frontier
Once you get past the spike you get to have fun again, just hang in there lmao
@@reinverseVT it's only high rank too, and actually now that I've been playing more high rank feels mostly just like high rank FU in terms of difficulty, I'm afraid of what's to come though lol
@@Scoottheboot670 the difficulty normalizes once you hit g rank and you get to be comfortable until around GR150 or so until it's time to suffer again 😏

Thank you for this! I tried getting into Frontier a handful of months ago and hit a wall harder than I’ve ever hit in any other game. I figured there must’ve been something I was doing wrong but the game has so many systems and half-translations that I really just couldn’t bother with it at the time. Watching this made me wanna get back into it, though!

I just found out about Rain; I've been wanting to play this since like 2010, and it's a dream come true. The thing is, there's SO DAMN MUCH! It's overwhelming. This video is a godsent; thank you!
I'm glad you're finding my guide useful! I mostly made it because other guides for Frontier are like 2-3 hours long and throw concepts at you that you don't really need to know about until much later from the very beginning which just completely overloads newcomers.

Frontier is definitely something special. And yeah Poogie and Guku guides will be coming eventually, they will just take a bit since there's A LOT to cover, especially concerning Guku
If you are struggling to kill nargacuga for its armor getting 4 survavibility G decos is a better idea, you get them in gcp exchange>decos> crapabble jewel or 325F, then you will be able to craft the deco in the smithy in G grade decos option. The rest of the mats you can buy them with gcp or Npoints
You are a GODSEND. Because of that deco I had a lot of fun fighting Narga, seriously I felt like a god dodging through the tail slams and that big attack where he covers the entire screen in dust.

I will always advise people to use Survivability G decos as a source of Evasion instead of a piece of Nargacuga armor. Seregios's Critical Eye+5 is the only Exotic skill truly worth reducing the effectiveness of your Gou/Tenran bonuses (Especially the bonus Attack/Element/Status at Tenran) and those decos will give Status Res and Guts as well, which will be big helps for anyone progressing through HR5/6.
The decos are just so much more versatile.

Yeah that's a problem with Frontier in general, either your triggers work or they don't.
Not sure if this applies to PC as well, but I had this issue on my steam deck, and the solution I found was to switch the functions of the L2/R2 with L1/R1 respectively. Hope this helps

I'm currently playing this on my vita. I'm still new to monster hunter. So charms have to be in your inventory for the effect to activate?
Yeah, if you want the damage and defense boost you'll always have to sacrifice 1-2 inventory slots for it

Looking to dive back in got to HR5 and had no idea was to do. The translation I was using didn't seem as clean as the version you are on. I don't think I am part of the rain server but i'll join in as there are so many monsters I want to fight. I believe the other version I used was linked by SephVII just wondering if it will be possible to use the account I logged into then using the rain server.
I know Rain has a save transfer channel in their discord, so it can't hurt to ask!

Hey quick question im also on the rain server it seems you have alot more english translated text, do you perhaps have the link for this?
I'm pretty sure the new translation patch is bundled into the Rain update patch, should be in the "download game" channel on the Discord. If you want the standalone check the PewDojo Discord which is linked under "credits and partnership".
Actually sorry to double post but in regards to the hunters tallon charm, do you only want that? Or the normal charms as well?

May I ask how did you get the game to look so good? And how did you get the names to be shown above the NPC's?
You just select high graphics in the settings, as for the names I'm pretty sure it's like that by default

If you're a gunner, you can go for the exotic nargacuga fairly early in HR5. He's not that hard.

Are you playing on a public server or your own? The community edition client is prepatched with the translation now.
As for the controller thing what problem are you having?
@@reinverseVT I Got the game to be in English, but it took me awhile to get a controller to work. I dont know what you mean if Im on a public server? I join the "International" one on the loader. Im not familiar with other servers?
Oh wow you're just raw dogging the game huh. Typically you'd bind a character on a public server's discord (like Rain) which would also have the most recent community edition of the client and links to further patches (currently the My Tore and Diva quest line translations are a separate download).
I might make a video on controller issues though because I know some people have trouble getting the triggers to work which makes opening some menus impossible without rebinding.

I do still recommend joining the discord for the server you're playing on and binding your character that way you can back it up and even transfer to another server down the line if you choose. Not sure who runs "International" tho
So which much harder the monster on frontier z or the main series?
Personally I think Frontier's high end monsters are more challenging than anything in mainline
Can I actually play this on the ps vita?
How did you get the entirety of the game to display NA language? The community server patch I have only displays some text in english, the rest is JP.
I just use the install from the Rain sever. The entire game isn't English, just the menus, Tore manager, and Diva as of the most recent update
I wish there was a Full translated version of the game
so what guide do you actually talking about it here? to advance through HR5, you need something something but this or that or what or heck, can you be more specific? like what armor or set do you recommend to farm nargacuga exotic set? what weapon? etc? like seriously.. what do you recommend when player get to HR5? an actual HR5 armor set? so which gou monsters in that category should I go for without getting ohko?

@@victorribeiro1220 which ones? Some are translated because their dialogue matters. Others aren't. As long as you can read the necessary dialogue and quests, that's all that matters. Just follow the guides

HR6 is the fucking worst and yet no ONE talks deeply about it
HR5 is great, fun with new monsters and mechanics but all goes to shit with supremacy monsters
I swear, I did solo all of the HR6 quests ALLL OF THEM and I could never kill anything, all my quests ended with repels and that sucked
someone should make a guide to survive HR6 alone because fuck being carried like a n00b
My advice would be to use your partner at the very least if you're intending to play alone tbh

the silver and golden lavasioth would be IMPOSSIBLE without a partner haha

Cats are irrelevant??? Dude steal cats give you extra reward mats and often give you extra partbreak mats even in hr2
