I love your videos educative and calm.. I have one question if you don't mind, If you asked top 3 resource you recommend for someone who is beginner like me( although i use Linux for 5 years ) to be expert and guru like you, what would those be?
Here are some thoughts...I have used Linux for About 30 years I think, computers 40 plus years , also custom Unix Systems, so advice is can be tough , first is passion is a must, to learn anything, like hobbies... example using a wood scroll saw, it takes lots of practice and patience . My advice continued is this... when it comes to computers always test things for your self, sometimes hardware can be different with computers , some OS's like Linux, Unix, Microsoft Windows , Chrome OS, BSD, & Macs to name a few, can be very different.
Linux is a open source world for the most part, and has a large data base of applications and/or software. Some will focus on creating and some will focus on supporting these products, a passion only you can decide to answer, if you are wanting to go into these fields . There are lots of things to learn and I do not pretend to know everything , I know more than some and less than others, you can find lots of free software in the Linux Distribution software stores, you can also check into a local schools or even buy books on Amazon as some examples. Greetings to you. Was wondering if you know how to fix the broken pipe errors when copying files across a network via nemo. I want to love cinnamon but have reverted to mint xfce that does not have the problem. It does not matter who does the cinnamon desktop. they all have the same issue. Love your video's by the way. I am 68 years young
Hello, since i do not know what method you are using to copy the files on your network, but you indicated cinnamon has issues, but Xfce works. One thought is file manager, since Nemo is for cinnamon, and Thunar is default for Xfce try installing Thunar on cinnamon as a test. Best of luck, t
How can I change the order of the boot menu? I have a dual boot PC with Win 11. I would like it to default to Win 11 when rebooting. Thanks.
Not a light undertaking . I would highly suggest a web search for procedures, the file is grub in etc/default in cinnamon, it is a root permission type of file that is why i say its best to have procedures you can see and perform, it can leave system in unusable state if not performed properly.
