  • I made my own glimmer mist spray craft tutorial. I really love the glitter spray and how easy it was to make. I used acrylic paint since I have so many bottles of it and it was available and I had empty small spray bottles to make this great glimmery spray for my scrapbooking, art journal and smash books.

    I put a marble in my bottles to help it mix better. I’ve had mine for years and they still spray fantastic! My favorite is the baroque pearl, which I use on white paper for snow.

    The mention of making your own fragrances made me remember that you can add a bit of fragrance to the shimmer spray for scented paper.
    Example of uses for shimmery scented paper:
    Place it in drawers, poke a hole in the paper then hang it in the closet using a matching ribbon, make scented personal stationary, etc.

    Wow nice, I have used glitter spray paint on hair bows I made to make them sparkle, this technique pretty neat.

    You can also add a bit of pearl ex or perfect pearls to any paint color for a metallic. Glitter will clog the spray nozzle.

    Sounds like an easy way to make glimmer. I like the idea of adding a marble to the container - I have a lot of little smalll stones.

    I use alot of alchol I put it in a bottle add water and use it to clean all my glass furniture windows mirrors. I use it neet to clean computer keyboard or my ps4 controller bcz it cleans sticky marks but evaporates so there's no water damage I've pulled mobile phones apart controllers that ppl think or broke used alchol to clean and they work. I also do my own spritz like you for my crafts

    They do sell the little spray bottles in the Travel section of both Target and Walmart. Sometimes they have them at the dollar store, too. Do you do anything special to keep it from clogging?

    Hey this is random but I started a business without a lot of $$ on hand so I'm really doing a lot of improvising and finding cheap solutions for making my products look professional. I have finally created labels for the product, and they are kind of glossy when I print them on laserjet. I recently bought a new inkjet to print my own labels and flyers as well, but it doesn't print them glossy. The glossy label paper is crazy expensive, and I was wondering if any of this stuff, or anything else that you know of can be applied to matte labels to make them glossy without coming off or looking smudgy or anything? It would be very helpful if you know of anything!

    I think that Amethyst was the one they where out of from Hofcraft, I ordered all the Folk art Metallics, the Decoart Metallics and then the entire delta range, and a conversion book. I can of course buy it in town but I definitely need that one, already know what I am going to use it for

    If I don't have paint and just loose glitter, do I just mix the loose glitter with the alcohol?

    Where I live there is not a shop a can buy stuff from so it is really nice for me to see substitutes. Will plain acrylic paint work?

    One question: How do you keep the pump spray from clogging or is the paint so diluted it won't clog it? Thanks for sharing! :)

      @@thefuzzypenguin778 Hmmm, many years ago - but do not shake the bottle - it creates air bubbles that come out as blobs... if you gently swirl it should be okay.....

    One question why alcohol can't you use water and I guess what does the alcohol do for it

    • @Jill_T
      @Jill_T 6 років тому

      The alcohol makes the product spray dry faster when it is on the paper.

    • @ArtsyLadyCrafter

    • @ArtsyLadyCrafter

      The alcohol dries faster and does not soak into the paper like water.

    I am wondering can this be done with fabric paint? I want glitter fabric paint but I don't want it to be as harsh as the tulip brand one... I just want to be able to and some shimmer to a tulle skirt of my daughters. I don't want it to wash off right away though either.

    • @margaretmeyer9435
      @margaretmeyer9435  10 років тому

      Thank you for the comment Sunnie Bell. I don't paint on fabric much but do know you have to add textile medium to your acrylic paint to get it to adhere to fabric. You could even play with a small amount of your fabric paint and see what you come up with. Hope that helps and I hope some else might comment on that about fabric paint. Love glimmer!!!

    • @sunniealessandra4490
      @sunniealessandra4490 10 років тому

      Thank you I was watching another video and that is what they did but they added textile, acrylic, and water. The alcohol probably does something to the textile is what I figured.

    Can you use these on fabric. If so I would not what to change the color of the fabric but just give is a bling with the glitter.

    • @margaretmeyer9435
      @margaretmeyer9435  9 років тому +1

      Clarice Muller You would have to add a fabric medium to make it adhere to the fabric and test first. Hope that helps....xoxo

      @beautyoflife8943 9 років тому

      First thank you for responding. What I have just tried was I added together a fine glitter, water and mod podge glue. However, it would not spray out. I tried this in two bottles. What I see you using here is the small sprayer so why this would not come out I don't no because is was not thick.

    • @margaretmeyer9435
      @margaretmeyer9435  9 років тому +1

      The glitter in the paint is ultra fine and that might play a part. I never tried it with mod podge and glitter so I'm not too sure. Mod Podge won't adhere to fabric either. When you wash it will come off. Hope that helps...Have a great day!
