I LOVE that this is your favorite book, yet you still recognize that it has issues. That's the case with me and a few of my favorites - they are so far from perfect, but I love them in spite of that because they still accomplish something special. :D

Well I love the ember blade by Chris Wooding, The Legend of Black Jack by AR Witham, Nomads of the Sea by Coby Zucker, Wistful Ascending by JCM Berne and so much more.
I read it too and really enjoyed it. For me my major issue actually was the writing style didn’t click like I wanted it to but it was still a 4 star. I think the book should have been split into two or three books to fully flush out the characters and the plot but I can understand why the author might have wanted to just put it all into one book and not have it be 2000 plus pages lol
I can understand that. The first 30% could have used a little fleshing out so maybe split in two may have helped with those pain points. Four stars is still a really good rating! I’m glad that even though it wasn’t a favorite you at least enjoyed the story!

Hmmmmmmmmmm Amazon recently started a beta for hardcover print on demand. Idk if that's how Spencer rolls it, but if it is... then im sure the feedback is helpful. I know for fact Zack Argyle is doing it some other way. Not with the Amazon Beta. So that's pretty cool :)
Not sure! I have Zack’s hardcovers and it’s a similar spine. The difference is page count and the weight the paper puts on the spine of the book. Voice of War is only 370 pages so it’s fine for that kind of structure. Dragon mage is over double that. The paper gets heavy and needs a better binding. I really wouldn’t use that kind of binding on any book over 500 pages
