The amazon rain forest is not "almost" gone. It's just an average fire season that people are blowing out of proportion due to not liking the new brazilian president.
@@blazeron12 the Amazon does not have natural fire seasons like the Cerrado. Its trees did not evolve to catch fire and survive it. So if the forest is burning, the vegetation will not make it. And believe me, that forest is very important for Brazilian weather. Without it, there will be way less rains, and therefore, way less water in rivers and stuff

Will Joseph Save The Planet?
Probably not...
But now we can have a good time.
Sadly at this rate none of us will save the planet however hard we try. The higher ups will continue to make terrible decisions and most people will be either too lazy, ignorant or selfish to change their ways. But yes we can have a good time, for a short while.
This is the millionth time I've played this and the song ⚡💜slaps💜⚡ but every time I look at him with this haircut all I can see is that one Rick who was nice to Jerry.

Making an individual impact can look like:
- cutting down meat intake (not even doing veggie or vegan, just reducing day to day consumption - beef is the worst in terms of emissions & the best one to cut down on! This makes a particularly big impact in the states where a lot of beef production is unethical to begin with)
- working towards a single-use-plastic free lifestyle (or even cutting down on plastics in general)
- not participating in fast fashion (by thrift shopping, buying from ethical brands or making your own clothes - how cool would it be to tell a colleague the shirt they just complimented was handmade by you? A lot of fast fashion is made from synthetic materials, made from woven plastic polymers & when you wash those clothes, little microplastics wash off and into water sources - this can be especially damaging in the ocean, take a peep at biomagnification if you're interested)
- mixing commute by car with walking, biking and public transport
- Keep cups (or equivalent) are another great way to make a small change in your lifestyle that has a big impact (I worked in a cafe where the boss collected takeaway cups for 30 years to recycle them, only to find that wasn't possible. They promptly stopped making takeaway coffees unless the customer had an eco-friendly cup)
Generally just being a conscious consumer! :-)
Making an impact at a community level can look like:
- Attending peaceful protests and getting involved in local environmental groups (at a community or political level)
- Advocating for eco-friendly practices where you work, at local schools or just around the local community (this is a great way to raise awareness!)
- Getting involved with organisational / institutional clubs
- Participating in conservation work to help combat the environmental impact of humans on other animals
There are also some fantastic social media pages / websites that raise awareness for environmental issues & help you understand how you can make an individual impact!
- social media pages e.g. lucindaggg_ on instagram or eco friendly fashion on facebook
- blogs e.g. mygreencloset.com
- organisational pages e.g. greenpeace or amazonwatch
It works in the favour of un-environmental politicians for people to feel like they can't do anything, but working together can make a massive impact - look at the effect of "school strikes for climate"! It has received global attention and news coverage, with youth advocates attending the latest UN summit.
