Many people who video their hike on the AT create these VERY long and lingering videos! You have me spoiled! You tell just enough and show meaningful clips filled with good information and beauty.
I really appreciate the fact that you are showing that, while through-hiking the AT is a tough feat of endurance, it doesn’t have to be a total suffer-fest of starving and freezing. It seems as if enjoying some comforts is enabling you to appreciate the beauty of the trail, which makes your vlogs a pleasure to watch.
Taylor, your mom isn’t the only one who truly looks forward to your morning updates! I brew my coffee and start my day with you on weekends. On work days I look forward to your updates all day at work and it’s my evening reward when I finally relax in my comfy chair. Your videos are awesome. The way you recap your hike, share the scenery and honestly talk about your day. I hope you don’t mind but I wrote down a quote from you from your recent sit down interview with the guy in the yellow jacket. Taylor The Nahamsha Hiker ‘I like pushing myself. I like seeing what I am capable of’ This is a great way of looking at each day. I followed both your previous hikes and really appreciate the effort you put into your content creation. Thank you!🥾💚👍🏻
The views starting @ 5:22 are incredibly beautiful! The area of trees covered in hoarfrost is such a great contrast to the distant mountain silhouettes! It’s so refreshing to watching to watch an AT journey that doesn’t just focus on “making miles”, but rather takes the time to enjoy Gods creation! Thanks for taking this 63 year old along on your way to Maine!
My exact thoughts this morning! I woke with a bad headache today and I normally read while I sip coffee in the mornings but I knew I couldn’t read until I felt better. I was so happy to see a Nahamsha video
Hello Taylor, I have watched your videos of the last through hike. I have been watching this one. In my younger days I did section hikes in Georgia and Tennessee. I always wanted to do the section from Clingmans Dome to Spence field. There is a mountain and shelter that has always called to me. It is Derrick's Knob since that is my last name. Please think of me when you visit. I would appreciate a shout out when you are there. I am Ron "Santa" Derrick, I am a professional Santa. Good luck and stay healthy.
This years vlogs are so much better.... taking the time to document hostel stays or the bed and breakfast is so much better then watching the same scenes of trails.
You are inspiring me! Thankyou for posting such enjoyable and informative videos. I enjoy simply watching the adventure, but also am glad you show what the B&Bs are like and give information about your gear in the comments. The Appalachian Inn looks stunning! Also, I'm loving your backpack, and have already checked it out on the link you've provided. I'm a new backpacker, and a very small person, so I have to keep the pack weight low. I am totally going to check out that backpack!
Hi Taylor! The view from Cheoah Bald was beautiful with the frost on the trees. And the Appalachian Inn...wow! I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself. I look forward to your daily updates. Sending love down from NH!!!
Thank you for great videos. You have an excellent way of presenting a typical day, night and your trek in general is like. For those of us who wonder what the AT is about you provide very nice perspective. I hope you have great days and nights. Seems you will you being you with great attitude
I like your adaptability in taking advantage of the places to stay and eat on and near the trail. Knowing what you need to stay strong and energized has to be a big part of completing a thru-hike like this. And nobody said you were supposed to be a complete stoic for four months on the trail.
Taylor, your video’s are the best. That was a beautiful place that you stayed at. You make the trail look so beautiful and I myself would love to hike it someday, but I am 67 years old and out of shape.😂 I tell my family that I am going to get in shape and try it when I turn 70. I just love the woods and camping.. Stay safe and warm. Happy Hiking.🏕🥾💞
You are so smart to make a good breakfast a priority before a big climb. And as many good meals as you can get in town after a big day. You are so wise to do that snd stay in town when it’s super cold at night. I’m glad you are taking such good care of yourself. It’s all part of respecting the trail that you respect what you need too. Thanks for sharing your adventures snd observations. 😊
I look forward so much to your daily updates! This is the best part of my morning. You’re actually inspiring me to take my own smaller adventure this summer. Thank you for what you do!
I am really enjoying your daily vlogs. I have never been on the AT and I am getting a great feel for trail life in your vids. The focus on the towns and hostels is great. Your approach is the best I have seen. Great balance of your commentary, scenery video, general trail life info, comments on how you feel each day, outfitting choices, etc. Your stuff is that good. Thanks.
Hey Taylor! Perfect video for my drive through the Notch up to Moriah. The sky in the video may be the only one I’ll see today, so thank you for the inspiration. Crazy nice “hostel” , thank you for sharing. Super excited for tomorrows episode!!!🙏 Thanks for bringing us along today. I hope tomorrow’s miles are kind. Keep truckin’ and be well. -Grateful
Taylor they have some freeze dried breakfast meals that are pretty good. Biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage, bacon and eggs. Breakfast skillets. Might be more energizing breakfast when u tent camp at times.
Taylor you are doing a great job. I expect it is hard to find newspaper for those wet sneakers, but I have crumpled it up, filled up the shoes with it without the footbeds, and overnight it takes 90% of the water out of wet running sneakers. I have done this in overnight trips and it works great.
Hope you have a great trip through NC. I’ve watched every episode. Hope the weather turns. We’ve had 80s and lots of rain in the Piedmont this weekend!!! Do keep eating! You inspire us all ma’am.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Awesome job with your video presentation, would love to hear about what equipment and editing tools are you using. Thanks again for sharing and be safe.
Nahamsha on a full tank of fuel; look out! Epiphanies are always good. Solid push out of the NOC, you crushed it. Can't wait to see the trail magic surprise tomorrow. ✌️
What a difference a day makes! And it sounds like you controlled the mountain and not the other way around, so that was cool to hear. A good breakfast does get the day started fully fueled. Keep at it, I’m loving your vlogs, I can’t wait to get up each day to a new one!😊 You bring so much joy and inspiration into my daily life. Keep giving it Taylor! Stay safe and well.
Taylor! Great Job on that very tough climb out of the NOC‼️You made it look easy! The views from Cheoah were fantastic..Thanks for posting! Can't wait for tomorrow's surprise!
I'm glad you found the Appalachian Inn...that place is awesome...not cheap...but worth every penny. Funny thing about the section of the AT south of the Smokies now-a-days...if you want to go from hostel to hostel to B&B you can pretty much not have to spend a single night camping. Someone should try it and see how easy it is to do.
I am assuming from your name that you are a N.H. resident? We are from western Massachusetts and our older son lives in Manchester, N.H. The A.T. runs right through our town in Adams, MA climbing over Mt. Greylock as the trail makes its way into Vermont. Good luck to you and keep this if you need assistance along the way once you get back to New England.
Those frosted trees were amazing. Both of the places you stayed looked great. I was suprised at how different they are but both had great features and looked like places worth paying a visit. I can't recall if youve made a video on how on Earth you can edit and create a video on a tiny phone but that seems like a feat in and of itself.
Girl, you’ll probably catch up with me soon if I keep getting bit by spiders a heavy bag lol I am old lol my hiking partner is Patty my little pup. I love watching your videos and I am on trail myself. You’re doing a great job keep up the good work hopefully we might run into each other. We’re proud of you.😊I’m double time!!!
Spent a couple summers guiding on the Nantahala river. I've done this section of the AT. Tough. Great video. Loving watching your journey. Keep it up!!
You’re doing AMAZING!!! Your my new idol 😂I just recently found out about the AT and thru hiking in general, being a Florida girl we don’t have beautiful mountains to hike so not popular down here! Watched you just doing an interview and my husband is the same way with hiking! Unlike you though, it drives me bonkers just because I’m scared to go solo and we have a 16 yo and 12 yo boys so it’s difficult for me to do so. Have thought of section hiking though, I’m just dying to be in the mountains! Stay safe and strong, you’re a freaken rockstar! ❤
@S. M. I’d love to do so! My husband will do small hikes to a waterfall but not about backpacking type hikes. Our 12 yo loves hiking and the outdoors so we may do something this summer. He plays tackle football and baseball so time is limited, but I’m determined to make it work 1 way or another! Tanzania… that’s awesome! Have an awesome day from Florida 🫶
Wow beautiful place. Great content Taylor. Are you trying to do different thing’s on this trek from the last one, or just going day by day. I hope I can time it to drop of trail magic to you near Harpers Ferry. 😀
I agree the good breakfast is important, but don't forget you are getting your trail legs. Also you just look more sure of yourself. That is almost more important than trail legs.
I love your vlogs❤, may I ask what kind of shoes are you wearing? I am sure you mentioned it already, but....🤔😀 Keep going and stay safe! Ahoj from Czech republic
Awesome job. Keep up the great work. I'm living vicariously thru you until I hit the trail next year. What could you compare your/today's 8-mile climb to up here in NH?
Many people who video their hike on the AT create these VERY long and lingering videos! You have me spoiled! You tell just enough and show meaningful clips filled with good information and beauty.
Yes, more than 13-15 min is too long. Taylor is great.
Agreed! The length of your videos is perfect!
Agree
100% agree. Taylor's content and length is on point.
Totally agree, some people’s videos are over the top long and filled with non trail related stuff.
Well put!! My sentiments exactly!
I was thinking the same if the sleep system was up to the task then maybe

‘I like pushing myself. I like seeing what I am capable of’
This is a great way of looking at each day.
I followed both your previous hikes and really appreciate the effort you put into your content creation. Thank you!🥾💚👍🏻
Loved the music at the end. The traditional music was a nice touch maybe you could do that more in future videos.
Coming from an avid breakfast consumer, a hardy breakfast before your hike is the ultimate game changer!
And all the time I judged you for waking up early to cook breakfast 😆 sorry
The views starting @ 5:22 are incredibly beautiful! The area of trees covered in hoarfrost is such a great contrast to the distant mountain silhouettes! Ahh...there's nothing like a beautiful Sunday morning watching Taylor's latest adventure with a fresh cup of coffee and my dogs by my side.
My exact thoughts this morning! I woke with a bad headache today and I normally read while I sip coffee in the mornings but I knew I couldn’t read until I felt better. I was so happy to see a Nahamsha video
Watching your videos every day is like I am walking the trail with you. Thanks
So spot on!!! I wish I was there, but watching these videos really does make me feel like I am…almost🥰🥰🥰
Hello Taylor, I have watched your videos of the last through hike. I have been watching this one. In my younger days I did section hikes in Georgia and Tennessee. Awesome sleeping arrangement, followed by amazing weather......so perfect !
This years vlogs are so much better.... taking the time to document hostel stays or the bed and breakfast is so much better then watching the same scenes of trails.
I was at the bunkhouse at the NOC. I don't know if it was more like a monk's cell, or a prison cell. Your digs looked great!
Great day up and out of the NOC. Breakfast is key. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy and doing awesome
Very nice video with lots of good beautiful views of the mountains covered in snow, so let's keep on hiking..😊
You are inspiring me!

I was so shocked how you just walked out in the freezing cold with shorts and no shoes. WOW
Hi Taylor! The view from Cheoah Bald was beautiful with the frost on the trees. And the Appalachian Inn...wow! I'm so glad you're enjoying yourself. I look forward to your daily updates. Sending love down from NH!!!
Try some grits. Easy to make and pretty filling. It's a southern thing like oatmeal for the north
Thank you for great videos. You have an excellent way of presenting a typical day, night and your trek in general is like. For those of us who wonder what the AT is about you provide very nice perspective. I hope you have great days and nights. Seems you will you being you with great attitude
Thanks! Watching your videos makes me think, for the first time, maybe I want to through hike! Thanks for taking us along!
Yeah!!! You met some friends😊
Another awesome day on the trail!! I love watching as you share this beautiful place with us! THANK YOU🙏💗
I like your adaptability in taking advantage of the places to stay and eat on and near the trail. Knowing what you need to stay strong and energized has to be a big part of completing a thru-hike like this. And nobody said you were supposed to be a complete stoic for four months on the trail.
I remember that 2018 climb out of NOC being about 5.5 hours and no water sources.
Good night sleep and breakfast is the KEY for sure !!!
Taylor, your video’s are the best. That was a beautiful place that you stayed at. @S. M. I’m going on a three day guided hike. I’m very new to all of this and am SO excited for my first small step into the hiking world!
I am really enjoying your daily vlogs. I have never been on the AT and I am getting a great feel for trail life in your vids. The focus on the towns and hostels is great. So good to see your video while I have my coffee. Loved this Inn..have a great day and enjoy the trail magic
It can be better to get your resupply in your belly than on your back. The frost in the trees makes for some beautiful photography 😊
Love that frosted mountain! Glad you got some protein in your breakfast to help you. I'm so enjoying the views of trails!
That place looks amazing. You're doing it the right way! Great job!
I like to save your trail vlogs for cardio time at the gym! They make my training on the stairmaster much more enjoyable 😊
Good, good video. Thank you
So glad you got to eat with other hikers. The hostels are so nice along the way🌻🌻🌻
Beautiful views! Love the frost/ice on the trees! Cold but pretty. Happy trails Taylor! 🥾🥾
I'm not much of a breakfast person either. But I've noticed even on a short hike, it makes a world of difference.
I'm glad that breakfast helped. Fat and protein are king and queen for strenuous hiking.
Good nutrition is a must, even for tough experienced hikers. So glad you found some hikers to hang out with too. Doing great Taylor!
Taylor they have some freeze dried breakfast meals that are pretty good. Biscuits and gravy, eggs and sausage, bacon and eggs. Breakfast skillets. Might be more energizing breakfast when u tent camp at times.
Nice to sit down with people you know and hike with. Beautiful day to hike and some great views. Stay Safe and HIKE ON!!!
It keeps getting better and better !! Just keep hiking !!!! You're doing great !!!
You’ve become my morning routine…..again….🤣🤣🤣. Totally agree about fueling with food. Happy trails.🤟🏻🥾🏔
Love your channel! Thank you for documenting your journey so well!
The best part of waking up is Taylor and my cup (of coffee) !!!!
Nice looking hostel! I have noticed the same thing--a big breakfast with eggs and meat is fantastic trail fuel.
Awesome beautiful vlogging hiking and scenery, all the very best health and happiness.
Hearing about your progress each day is very nice, thank you for sharing.

Taylor, you are making awesome daily videos! We love them! ❤️😊👍🙏🏻⛺️⛰️
Taylor, thanks for showing more of the hostels. Making notes on the amineties for future hike. ONWARD!!
Love the Appalachian Inn. Nice! Wow, you are averaging 6.8 miles a day. That's enjoyable...
Great to see you back on trail. Keep on keeping on.
Just love your videos! Yours is one of the best! Thank you and safe hiking!
The view with the frosted trees… so lovely!
started hiking A.T at 11 in boy scouts. 70 year old . been life long hiker. Taylor- enjoy....
Really enjoy seeing the views of gap areas , signage & inns/ hostels when others are not around. Thank you great videos..
I feel like I’m right there hiking,good videos 🙏 2:37
Hope you have a great trip through NC. I’ve watched every episode. Hope the weather turns. We’ve had 80s and lots of rain in the Piedmont this weekend!!! Do keep eating! You inspire us all ma’am.
Thank you for sharing your experiences. Your hiking hacks, insight about fuel, and hostels stays are very much appreciated.
You are hiking in my back yard, yes the climb out of The NOC heading north is horrible..
I just did NOC to stoccoa gap with a hurt knee two days ago. Ended our section hike a day early.
Thank you for sharing your journey. Awesome job with your video presentation, would love to hear about what equipment and editing tools are you using. Thanks again for sharing and be safe.
Good morning! Bald is definitely beautiful today. Appalachian Inn looks wicked nice.
Breakfast is the most important they say. Wow you’re kicking butt out there. Nice hostel.
The Appalachian Inn looked great. What a neat place to stay. Thanks for sharing.
Great day. Nice accommodations. Keep trekking. 😀
Noboing with a smile. Keep it up and keep learning.👍
Nahamsha on a full tank of fuel; look out! Epiphanies are always good. Solid push out of the NOC, you crushed it. Can't wait to see the trail magic surprise tomorrow. ✌️
Great video! Might be an expensive through hike this year. :)

Outstanding!
Thanks for posting these. I'm starting this week and your videos are helping me feel more confident.
Thanks!
Thank you Noah!!
I enjoyed this video! What is the music at the end, I love it! I hope you are having a beautiful day on trail today!
Beautiful inn!
You are so strong. Glad you felt good after that climb🙂

I was close to spending every night inside haha. Mostly because it was below freezing everyday haha
Big love for your day thanks for sharing
This looks amazing thank you so much for sharing…..Keep on tracking!
I love that you took two cookies 😊

Hella tough climb out of the NOC for several miles :(
Eat leafy greens and red peppers in town, burgers ok, watch sugar intake. Too much sugar will bind you up, need ruffage, Wonder Woman.
I want to go from the NOC to Fontana Dam or from the Dam to New Found Gap. Would love to know how long it would take a healthy rookie.
Hey Taylor, I don't see your trekking poles? Have a good day!

Maybe hiking up Waumbek would be similar!
@@TaylortheNahamshaHikerthanks that gives me a good perspective...steady moderate grade. Great job!
