After thrilling on this music video more times than I'd care to admit, I finally dug through the remnants of what I recalled about PKD's (Philip K Dick) short story "The Days Of Perky Pat". It finally came to me what has me mesmerized when I watch this (besides RiRi, Lula and the mind-blowing videography):
"Perky Pat" and "Connie Companion"
A rivalry between two "Dolls" and the communities that worship them who - "Wannabe better than her".
Hope this makes sense to you (whoever you may be). All I can say is that watching the FEMM music videos, especially this one, is like visiting an alternate reality...

It's a reference to a common trope that straight women are willing to pretend they are sexually attracted to women to get men to be interested in them. It's an interesting trope to reference and probably the most interesting lyric of the song to me. Bisexuals (and pansexuals) are very annoyed when their attraction to both women and men is ignored and they are only labeled "straight" or "gay/lesbian" depending on the relationship they are in at the time. I find FEMM including this lyric to be a bit inspiring to me, a bisexual woman, because I like that, in keeping with the sarcastic and ironic tone of the rest of the lyrics, it signifies that this is a sort of catty remark aimed at the straight women and men who actually do believe this stereotype.
I hope this helped you at all, I kind of just really wanted to post my thoughts about that specific lyric somewhere. :)
