We went to Sunny Beach last September. we stayed at the tiara beach resort. I have traveled all over the world, but this was the first time I have traveled to Eastern Europe. I had my doubts, I thought Eastern Europe would be just like Cuba. But I must say that I had a fantastic holiday there. All inclusive resort, great food, nice staff and every day a party. We also rented a car and went driving all around Bulgaria, Koprivshtitsa, Nassebar, Zheravna, sozopol and many other towns and cities. The beaches are beautiful, just like the temperature. The excursions are also beautiful and cheap. That's how we went to Istanbul and Romania. We were there for 3 weeks and it cost us +- 2500 euros per person. all in all a beautiful country, we will definitely go to the Tiara beach resort again in May.
We loved it first time , then did not go home in the end. Lots to see here, Romania is amazing we loved Brasov. The space and lack of people where you can relax is amazing.the hotel got good reports this year, that was a long stay. Possibly see you if your back this way.
Fantastic information were first time in August so I will defo be saving this and watch again closer the time very invaluable info thanks so much appreciate the hard work.
@@sunnybeachlife5860 Well, I just recently moved back to Bulgaria after many years abroad... So I often joke that I'm an "expat" in my own country... At least I speak the language fluently even though it has changed as well during the last few decades.
Good advice for people who have never travelled anywhere. Some of the tips given were the same as the way things are in the UK, such as using bank cashpoints rather than random ones in the street. I never understand why anyone travel to another country and drink in an expat bars or bars full of Brits while eating chicken and chips and complaining that it's different to home. My partner and I are looking at Bularia for our holiday next year. I know now to avoid Sunny Beach, as it looks a bit like Blackpool with sunshine
Brilliant information as usual especially for people visiting Sunny Beach for the first time, but I think most people will pick up a tip or two no matter how long you have been in Bulgaria. Thanks.
I always tell the Ice cream vendor how much I want to spend and usually use the independent stall opposite the Globus. Love the way chocolate sauce solidifies on the ice cream
Love choccy topping , will have that next time. Some vendors are great but a lot on the Facebook groups I see get caught out. We buy 4 litre tubs from Janet for 10 leva so it's all expensive when out.
İ arrived last night staying in Nesabar fort club the back of town. İ am following your advice i went first thing this morning to Flower st and changed my money in the Fİ bank ATM its the same to change 10 leva as 400 I'm here 6 week so your advice saved me pounds. İ also went to Lidl good but you really need a car to do a big shop. İ have M&M supermarket across the road. İ walked round this afternoon and recognised many places you mentioned. İ will get watching and listening to your advice. Thank you
That's great, the tips are things that catch people out. We are away tomorrow for a couple of days with friends, some from the forts who live there to Sofia and the mountains. Be back at the weekend. Just editing another video now before we go but be back Friday .
Love the videos as always you and Susan have such a great life we’re so jealous. Please try Hans bar at the end of the beach before you go into nessebar the views are amazing 👍🍺
Many thanks for the great and valuable information. We will be there in July for our first visit to the country. Which supermarket is the best for value and range of products (I understand necessarily the same store will cover both) as we are self catering due to my grandson's needs.
About the tipping, it is true that if you say thank you while handing the server a note they will keep the change, but you can say as in your example with the 50 bgn note "thirty five thank you" they will give you 15 back. This is how we do it.
great video thanks alot, first timers to sunny beach next monday, good to see the rate of change with opening up over your last few videos. trying to spy prices in backgrounds to get averages haha!
The good value places we eat most often are not open yet but we saw them starting to clean up. Be much busier after this week as so many flights coming in. It takes a lot of people to be busy, over 600 hotels and apartment complexes

Nessebar old town a couple of miles away is lovely. You can go up to Pomorie about 12 miles there is a monastery to look at, fishing boats and a proper small town. Take the bus to Burgas, cafe culture , old churches and museums. From our village Kosharitsa or St Vlas you can hike the mountains and forests it's a national park .
No, it's a bit small , we like to stretch and relax. Not real drinkers, lots of the local ex pat's love it. Boris did best beer in sunny when he had the chicken shack

As an ex pat in Bulgaria (I hate that term) for 12 years, that is all good advice and basically is good for the whole country. I must say I have never been to sunny beach, drove past it and carried on but Neseber is very nice.
You said that the taxi has to have a card printed in the window. Which window in the car do you mean the forward big window or the window backward the small one? and what does the card say?
Hi. My mom and her man really wants to go here for her 75th birthday in August and bring us, her "kids". We don't really understand why she wants to go here, because we see it more of a party resort. Do you reckon they will enjoy themselves here?
Watch my videos from last year. The party bit is very small, less than 10% and starts late on . Most is for families and family entertainment of all ages. We have nessebar a world heritage site 2 miles away, fantastic old town. Away from the front lots of quieter bars and restaurants , hundreds in fact. We see you tubers here and show the party , clubs, getting drunk side to get their views it certainly isnt the resort. Our apartment is 10 minutes from Flower Street and all we hear at night is seagulls
Yes it's fine, it's very high mineral content which is why long term people here don't drink it, can cause kidney stones. Never had an issue with it. Huge money made bottling water here though
We get out hats from an embroidery man, next dune hotel opposite the sweet shop. They are 20 or 25 leva depending on hat and design you have. He does subscriber versions for our followers
Very early , end of April as they start to prepare. From may to September it's great on the brach. We did get snow a couple of weeks ago but it changes fast when summer arrives
I've been to Sunny Beach several times myself. You seem like a very lovely couple but I must say that I am from an EU member state where I have never EVER been asked to produce my ID, nor in Bulgaria, or any other country in Europe. I did get into a difficult situation once by saying “thank you” at one restaurant so your advice on that is worth gold! ❤ Ps. All the talk about Sunny Beach being a drunken pub can be taken with a pinch of salt. True, it is all that but for those who don't particularly care for the booze & vomit team (I certainly don't) it is a simple matter of choosing your hotel well, and then all you'll see of it (if you're an early riser) is a few Englishmen hanging off the bar stool or passed out in the gutter.
All citizens here must carry I'd as a policeman can ask for it so obviously visitors as well. I have been stopped a couple of times that's why it is safer to carry a copy when out just in case . Yes the thank you catches polite visitors out. We tried to make this as specific to Bulgaria as possible as we live here.
@@sunnybeachlife5860 You must have had a spate of bad luck. I have circumnavigated the globe 'overland' and the only time I've ever been asked for my ID was in Esfahan during the Islamic Revolution and in Dar Es Salam when I was at the Tan-Zam railway station after hours. The "thank you" can be a problem at restaurants in Bulgaria and in Turkey, probably other countries in the region as well. 😊
We show it in the latest video published this morning. looks very well maintained, is highly ranked on trip advisor . Certainly the pools and grounds etc are immaculate.
No it starts to slow as no children , you should get a pretty good week then, we say don't come after the 15th, people fly out end of September and the fun isn't there as a holiday location then. Flower street is all there is 1st October
I’m coming to stay there for 6 weeks to work where would u recommend me going for a good shop ? What supermarket close to flower street that’s not too expensive 😊
Lidl is best value around 20 minutes walk from flower street, centrally it's a bit limited with tourist supermarkets depends where your staying there is T Market cheap as well
Thank you for the videos! I love watching you. I am going to Sunny Beach on May 30, will the season be fully open then? I want to eat well and swim in the sea :)
@sunnybeachlife5860 thank you for the reply. Could you recommend any hotels for adults? I'm 60 now, so I want something a little quiet .would you recommend all-inclusive. Something near the bars with tribute act .thank you so much
There are a few smaller ones not too long a walk, quieter. Try looking Versis it's immaculate and great reviews , we stayed at central, hotel very quiet area but close everything as just behind police station. High season gets a bit manic, like end June and start september
I'm going there in July and it's my first holiday. Will the shop owners try to touch me because I would snap because I don't like strangers touching me and there's a lot of that in Cardiff
@@sunnybeachlife5860 brill! Sorry for all the questions but if its a late flight will he still b able to do so? And what would b the price range? Thanks for the reply
There is the Burgas service, stops at the roundabout outside the airport and takes you to the central station in sunny beach.. the nest in the video are local ones
I filmed the prices at the iglika its pretty good value there, there are a couple less like Spiders , The Pub, but they haven't opened yet. At the end of the video its opening up, last week the Iglika is featured. Imported beers are expensive, local ones good, the cider here is great. There is craft beer as well about thats tasty but not cheap of course.
Thank you mate for an excellent common sense video I have been to sunny beach twice going for the third time the end of August 24th staying in the hotel fenix I have really enjoyed it there the people are friendly nice food great beer plenty to see and do your video was excellent full of good common sense advice and ideas of different things that are going on places to go that I weren't aware of once again many thanks for showing this video keep up the good work greetings from Swansea South Wales 👍🏴 🇧🇬
Sorry haven't seen any. In Burgas they have rolled out a modern fleet of electric ones but not reached sunny area.the mobility hire people do run some treansport
The guy is telling you the game over there . I was born there I can confirm. Although we do eat a lot of potatoes, but you Brits have to pay attention chips is actually what you call crisps, so yes speak like you'd speak generally in America.
Potatoes are unfortunately the worst here, a pity but the irrigation required is an issue. Our Bulgarian friends here do not eat and cook many potatoes we initially asked about why so few on sale in the shops.Yes could ask as an American, things get confused in translation so best try and easier alternative word, the saying thank you on paying a bill is related to this area , we were in Veliko Tarnovo and it was not there and surprised locals when we mentioned it. A big country and differences between areas are huge , sunny beach is not a popular destination for Bulgarians but foreigners who are videos are mainly made for. All input is useful and hopefully you may come to sunny beach in the future and see what it is like now.
One mans floor is another mans ceiling. Don’t always take these vlogs as gospel. BUT this one isn’t too bad and they have respect for the fact it’s a different country and culture. All areas have been covered. Very good! Some write ups are really insulting to the particular country involved. I live in Ibiza and you know the stigma stuck to here ( thanks to the brits), but away from the handful of “ Brit Pits” this place is amazing, luckily there are places the Brits haven’t found yet ! .. hope they never do.. I am going back to Bulgaria in 3 weeks for my dental treatment. No way would ai pay the rip off prices in the uk or even ( although much cheaper ) here . So Thanks Bulgaria !
We are getting our teeth done at the end of the season. A lot of tourists don't move from their hotel area and don't see the country in a true light. Away from sunny beach it's not a tourist area at all so we love living here. We also have real seasons, looking forward to autumn now.
Hopefully it's all running on Wednesday as Bulgarian schools break on Tuesday,. Still big parts are very quiet. Might pass whilst out. We were out last night and everywhere we went people came up to talk to us, only started last year so getting used to it takes time
Watched it loads of times they are skippable after 15 to 29 seconds you don't need to watch them any longer.they select the ads to show if course nothing to do with us.
@@sunnybeachlife5860 they have French frys too but they sell homemade chips aswel there. herself wants to go to sunny beach just haven a look to see what it's like before booking

Is the water truly safe to drink? My family never even used the tap water!
Yes it's fine, it's very high mineral content which is why long term people here don't drink it, can cause kidney stones. Never had an issue with it. Huge money made bottling water here though
Full of good advice. Ive now taken photos of my passport because I had assumed my hotel wristband would be ID.
Thank you 👍.
I was stopped early one morning, big policemen with big sticks I had no id but luckily within sight of our apartment so they let me go.
@@sunnybeachlife5860 Thank you again. I arrive Tuesday.
Your advice is invaluable to us 'newbies' ☺️ xx
At what age are you allowed to drink in Sunny Beach?
It's 18 legally in a public bar.
Great advice thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Hello mate, did you get your custom hat design in Bulgaria? if so how much was it. cheers.
We get out hats from an embroidery man, next dune hotel opposite the sweet shop. They are 20 or 25 leva depending on hat and design you have. He does subscriber versions for our followers
@@sunnybeachlife5860 cheers mate.
What month was this video please? Looks cold 🥶
Very early , end of April as they start to prepare. From may to September it's great on the brach. We did get snow a couple of weeks ago but it changes fast when summer arrives
Very informative video blagodarya
Thank you, we recently posted an updated version on our channel
Just advise of course , most people don't have problems it's very safe here. Just giving folk advise theirs to ignore of course
@@sunnybeachlife5860 And your advice is very much appreciated. ❤
Hi just wondering if you know anything about the Neptune hotel we are staying there for 18 nights ??
We show it in the latest video published this morning. looks very well maintained, is highly ranked on trip advisor . Certainly the pools and grounds etc are immaculate.
Really helpful video thank you
No it starts to slow as no children , you should get a pretty good week then, we say don't come after the 15th, people fly out end of September and the fun isn't there as a holiday location then. Flower street is all there is 1st October
@@sunnybeachlife5860 okay amazing, thank you so much for the further info!
I’m coming to stay there for 6 weeks to work where would u recommend me going for a good shop ? What supermarket close to flower street that’s not too expensive 😊
Walk too the far end opposite aquapark is m and m but another few minutes it's worth going up to lidl
Lidl is best value around 20 minutes walk from flower street, centrally it's a bit limited with tourist supermarkets depends where your staying there is T Market cheap as well
Amazing doscand donts thanks so much am i right in thinking theat u can buy things in bith euros n kevi and whixh dobu thinks best
Yes many take euro it's a fixed exchange rate with Lev but then they don't like tax or banks cash is king here.
@@sunnybeachlife5860 what about using your bank card in restaurants I am all inclusive in July but will deffo want to eat out one or two nights
@@grainne916 many take cards but other bars do not so have enough cash just in case.
Great informative video thanks
Hope you found it informative
Thank you for the videos! I love watching you. I am going to Sunny Beach on May 30, will the season be fully open then? I want to eat well and swim in the sea :)
Yes its the official season 1st July its all open last week in May.
Excellent mate. See you soon 👍x
Be busy soon we are out seeing Tom Jones tribute tonight
Hi just started watching your channel. Do you live in sunny beach .thinking about a holiday next year .thank you
We own an apartment in central Sunny Beach but live 15 minutes drive from that in a quiet village location.
@sunnybeachlife5860 thank you so much
Good video both😁👍🏴
Thank you, basic advice to enjoy your stay.
going next week for first time, great first time, are they native friendly to Scots I wonder?
They were late last night in iglika and spiders, plenty of Scots here now.
I'm going there in July and it's my first holiday. Will the shop owners try to touch me because I would snap because I don't like strangers touching me and there's a lot of that in Cardiff
Not they normally sit in a chair till you want something. They don't push here like other countries generally
@@sunnybeachlife5860 that's great thank you
Very good advice
You are doing some catch up?
Yep😎
Can I use Revolut card in say that Condor bar or restaurants?.is it ok?? as good rates on transfers
Condor and Iglika bar do not take cards, a lot do but cash is king carry some just in case.
Hi is the red lion pub still in sunny beach
Yes, we filmed it start of the season.
Useful thanks

What’s the weather like at the end of may?
Couple of days cloudy coming but was 23 this afternoon, not bad.
Where can i find the man you talk about with the taxi please
The number is in the video description.
hi does yanni run taxis from burgas airport? great video btw really helpful!! :)
Yes he will get you picked up
@@sunnybeachlife5860 brill! Sorry for all the questions but if its a late flight will he still b able to do so? And what would b the price range? Thanks for the reply
Most transfers are about 60 leva, he may be less. Text him , they are running 24 hours at present.
Great vid again 👌👍
Thank you
Does busses go from the AirPort to Sunny beach
There is the Burgas service, stops at the roundabout outside the airport and takes you to the central station in sunny beach.. the nest in the video are local ones
@@sunnybeachlife5860 thank you so much☺️
excellent ...thank you
Your welcome
Can you do a video of the cheapest places to drink around Sunny beach please
Everywhere is cheap here. Just been here two weeks. If you are happy to drink the local lager etc
Hi there are the local buses wheelchair friendly?thanks
Sorry haven't seen any. In Burgas they have rolled out a modern fleet of electric ones but not reached sunny area.the mobility hire people do run some treansport
@Sunny Beach life thanks for getting back to me, take care
We come to sunny beach 3 times a year due 11th June we love hotel arda😊
Regulars.funny our resident friends had plates of chips with their meal last week should have known better.
We are going on the 20th may ,is the weather hot then?
Mid 20's normally. Today it's 28c
Coming for 1st time mid June staying at ihotel sunny beach is it any good there ?
Yes, just behind the casino so just behind the noisy front you will be able to sleep. People certainly like it and it looks well kept
@@sunnybeachlife5860 oh great thanks for that advice. I will look out for you when I’m there .
Just came back from Ibiza and I found it pretty overrated as compared to Bulgaria…Bulgarian here, living in Germany for over 23 years…
Thank you
Your welcome enjoy your holiday here
Great Tips , Thank You , Oops , Great Tips -------------
Thank you
Gr8 Info! 👏 I arrive Tuesday! I also have a Travel channel similar to yours @ Travel with Col
Hopefully it's all running on Wednesday as Bulgarian schools break on Tuesday,. Still big parts are very quiet. Might pass whilst out. We were out last night and everywhere we went people came up to talk to us, only started last year so getting used to it takes time
@@sunnybeachlife5860 I was in Sunny beach last year 9th May for 9 nights was sunny every day and was plenty of people around

The commercials on this video are like 10 minutes long just to start
Watched it loads of times they are skippable after 15 to 29 seconds you don't need to watch them any longer.they select the ads to show if course nothing to do with us.
I’m here in Bulgaria now could I ask for taxi number please ?

😂🎉🍦 Thanks for enlightening me that Sunny beaches is now opening up Also could I just point out in the uk England in the uk England you would pay £5 for an ice cream Especially in London Also the UK England did not do very well in the Eurovision song contest We've had one day of sunshine and I had to cut the grass And also in my local weather spoons People give me a headache asking about Sunny beaches I have told To go on to UA-cam and look your up For good day to day information and the General price of things and places to go And also it is true what you say about the Condor are drinking there quite regularly when on there and know how the Staff work in Condor In general it ok 👍 And in general everything's good How to see you in the future How to see the helicopter Anyway Chow Chow Ricky in the UK 🇬🇧 England 😅
It's warming up here and finally getting going. We are waiting for Tom Jones at central it's rammed.i know it's cheaper here but like to save the pennies when we can. See you soon.
