- August Darnell alias Kid Creole und seine drei hübschen Coconuts ergänzen das Programm der Nokia Night Of The Proms 2010 und heizen den Besuchern des erfolgreichsten Tourneefestivals so richtig ein.
Mit seiner Mischung aus Calypso, Disko und Pop reiht sich die New Yorker Stilikone in die bunte Gästeliste neben Cliff Richard, Boy George, John Miles, Lichtmond und Klassiksolist Charlie Siem ein.
Die Hits von Kid Creole And The Coconuts glänzen durch eine wilde Mischung
unterschiedlichster karibischer Stile mit Pop- und Soul-Elementen.
Dass Hits wie „Stool Pigeon" auch heute mit einem Sinfonieorchester
hervorragend funktionieren, steht seit seinem Night Of The Proms Debüt 2007 in Belgien außer Frage. Dort verzauberte Kid Creole das Publikum nicht nur mit seinen gewohnt atemberaubend aussehenden Coconuts als Backingvocals sondern ebenso mit einer energiegeladenen Performance zwischen Bläsern und Streichern. Mit dieser Klangfarbe präsentieren wir einen weiteren spannenden Kontrast und garantieren Party pur.
Unterstützung erhalten die Solisten dabei wie gewohnt vom Chor Fine Fleur und dem
Sinfonieorchester Il Novecento unter der Leitung von Robert Groslot und unserer Electric Band.
Damit ist der Vorhang gefallen und ein wieder sehr abwechslungsreiches Programm komplett. Mitte Oktober beginnen die Proben und der Tourneestart ist am 22.10. in Antwerpen. Am 26. November kommt der große "Night Of The Proms" Tross mit über 200 Mitwirkenden vor und hinter den Kulissen in Köln an. Wir freuen uns auf die die "The Nokia Night Of The Proms" Tournee 2010.

Great musicality song and presentation , the coconuts working their butts off with the choreography and backing vocals some women might think it is sexist in this day and age but it was his wife who first thought up the concept of the female coconuts 🌴 and they work for me 🇬🇧😍🇬🇧

You are right..The concept and choreography of the coconuts was developed by his first wife Adriana Kargi, with Taryn Hagey,Cheryl Poirier...later Janique Svedberg came for Cheryl Poirier..Then the girls separated from the band, and August Darnell then did other projects. At the end of the 90s he came back with Eva Tudor Jones (his current wife), Gemma Cousins and Louise People, the three girls in the video.

Although it could have different meaning to other people , I thought perhaps you were a serving or ex Marine Corps?

I can't tell you how many times I've watched this video, I'm already obsessed with it, the song, August with his special suits, and the choreography, the dance moves, so wonderful, and the girls, Eva, Gemma, Loise, simply beautiful and sexy....absolutely gorgeous....what a pitty thats nowhere i can not find out anything more from the girls how they are doing today, unfortunately you can't get much out of Google, even if there was at least one book about the girls' entire life story,,....I never found out when the girls were swapped, or I never found out their age anywhere,
