I own this car. It is not really a fire-breathing budget RS6 despite the sporty branding. It is, however, a true pleasure to drive. I have a 2022 M3 and often choose to drive the Volvo just because it’s so nice. And a bonus is that it comes standard with the best car stereo I’ve ever heard in my life.
I drive a Volvo V70 III as daily and its awesome. It's not exactly exciting but it has the comfort of a sedan and it doesnt look exactly big but the trunk is massive. I've slept a few times in it and its basically a larger single bed with rear seats folded. It's awesome! Wagons are so underrated nowadays.
Ian, that Volvo C40 recharge video was mind blowing. The intro, I literally replayed it like 10 times simply admiring the beauty, craftsmanship & the efforts that went into it. I loved it, amazing stuff 👍
I have the previous generation v60 t6 rdesign with the last inline 6. Such a fantastic machine. Comfortable, great stereo, great cargo capacity, long and low and fast! Almost no problems other than quick brake wear at 10 years. This looks fantastic.
I tried the V60, XC60 and XC90, and I finally purchased a XC60 T6 R-Design with the 21" wheels and Polestar Engineered tune. I added the overfenders that comes with 22" wheel option, put some aftermarket 22"s and lowered it by 3 inches on airbags. I do not regret my choice at all.
Love everything Volvo has made in the last 5ish years. Have XC40 at the moment and probably going to hold onto it for another few years to see how things shake out with the V60 and XC60 in terms of pure ev replacements. But to me, this V60 with that much of thump behind it is quite possibly the closest thing to a perfect daily driver anyone could ask for
Yall randomly popped up on my feed definetly subscribing cause yall look like you do a lot of volvo reviews and I love volvos cant wait to see what yall make next :)
After our baby was born I decided to sell my Honda CF650 motorcycle for safety reasons. So that I didn't have to miss out on the speed kick, I bought a V60 (2023 V60 T8, not developed by Polestar) 5 month ago. I love this car: the driving experience is great, the acceleration is incredible, the sound system is exceptional and I have only filled up twice in all this time and over 5000 kilometers driven.
I have an suv and recently bought a v60 polestar, i love it i feel like i have the speed and handling of a sports car but the convenience of an suv without getting beat up at the gas pump
I’ve owned two V60 Polestars, and just traded a 2022 model for a 2025 model. Great cars! Since I like sporty handling, I buy wagons, since a low center of gravity is a big plus over a crossover or SUV. Another huge reason we like wagons is that my wife and I mountain bike twice weekly, and putting bikes on a roof rack is quick, easy, stable, and secure, since this wagon’s roof is nice and low. No step stool or ladder is necessary! I’ve had many rear mounted bike racks over the years too, which are ok, but there are too many downsides to me. It’s also much easier to mount and access a roof cargo box with a wagon.
Got one on order. Coming next month :) Currently driving the XC60 T8 with the polestar software upgrade, so I’m curious to see how the long roof compares to the SUV.
Dudeeeeee, wagons are soooo sexy, it’s taken me a while to grow into the lewk, but no one does it better than VOLVO, or Subaru (even tho Subies are crazy lux like a Volvo). These are such beasts on the road, that 0-60 time is crazy! … loving that they carry the Thor’s hammer theme in the headlights. It’s just sooo damn smart, practical design. I LOVE ITTTT
you forget that you can get a bodykit uppgrade also from Polestar, i have it on mine v60 PE, its looks so much better then standard. Sideskirt, front lips and backlips, looks mean hehe
I just got a xc60 and I love it it’s my first Volvo and my plane is a 3 step plan 1. Get a factory warranty then the polestar tune and exhaust work after that!
Definitely would buy that over any SUV. I have the 2015 V60 and love it. If I could afford that new V60 Polestar I would. It's far nicer than an SUV, unless maybe you're 6' 6". Wagons are the best; especially the E63 with that rear facing seat, but also Volvo is great. Need for sweed!
Having owned a 2017 V60 T6 Polestar Engineered wagon, and now owning an XC60 T8 Recharge SUV/Crossover, I would DEFINITELY own and drive one of these V60 T8 Polestar Engineered wagons! In fact, when I was looking to trade-in my ‘17 V60 Polestar wagon last year, I was actually looking to get the exact model and color that you drove in this test (a 2023 model, of course, because the 2024 models had not come out!). No dealerships within 250 miles had one, nor could they get me one, but a dealer about 20-25 miles away had a pre-owned 2022 V60 T8 Polestar Engineered wagon that their Sales Manager was driving. Unfortunately (for me), it had been driven a lot and showed too much wear-and-tear for a year-old vehicle, so I bought the V60 T8 Recharge SUV that they had on the lot (it was a demo, but it had less than 10,000 miles on it and it’s the R-Design version, which is no longer available ….. plus, I haggled with the dealer for close to a week, until I got a fantastic price on it (apparently, they had a customer who had a Polestar Engineered wagon like my 2017 V60 on his “wish list”). I like the XC60 T8 Recharge SUV, but I REALLY still want a wagon just like the one in this test (I’d take any color, but the Thunder Gray and Nardo Gray are what I really like best).

This thing is absolutely gorgeous. I'm not really a fan of the hybrid, though. And if I am being picky about one little thing, I wish the red hook in the trunk was actually yellow, like the seat belt. But I can see it getting dirty, really fast.
Engine and electric are seemless off the line. 7500 miles of smiles on mine. Corners on rails, which is truly impressive. Drove the Audi RS6 and it’s a race car that gets 15 mpg while I’m getting 40. If I had $150k, sure get the Audi, but not worth double this car.

The only problem for Polestar V60 is that the car just way too heavy 😂 those seats are awesome tho. Don’t forget back in 2020 we also have the T8 V60 Inscription, you can do light interior plus elegance pine wood green and crystal shift knob with lovely PHEV drivetrain.
This is an absolutely gorgeous vehicle. And with the new motors and range that's quite respectable, this is arguably one of the best available! The sad reality is, people aren't buying them. Not in Canada. Not in the United States. Europe, sure, that's why they have the full line up there, as well as several other competitors offering awesome looking and driving wagons. This is a great looking wagon and great size! Also, check out the '24 Lexus IS350 wagon. It's pretty sweet! I love my '15 VW Golf Sportwagon. Great at so many things! Cheers
The SUV trend is stupid imo, wagons does everything an SUV does but better, except possibly off-roading, which no SUV ever does anyways. They are just as big or bigger on the inside, lighter than SUVs, look better, better gas milage, less damaging to the roads, more practical to load/unload things into because it is lower. And they handle like a sedan. My theory is that all the people driving SUVs don't know it yet, but what they really need is a proper wagon.
It's certainly the _cheapest_ available right now. But you can get an Audi RS6 or a Porsche Panamera Turisma (or the Taycan Turisma), too. And theoretically an AMG E-class Wagon. Though for about 2x+ the price, and I'm not sure if they're actually available, either.
How is this a non performance wagon? Volvo discontinued the V60 in the US in every trim but PE. The only non plastic cladding is what you see above. The V60 cc is still going. Porsche also just announced the end of the Panamera Turismo. So the amount of wagons continues to go down since people overwhelmingly buy SUVs 😢
I never had a wagon before no even thought of having one but for some reason this car got me looking 👀 at it for months now and the only thing that worries me is the driving is very long so therefore I will have to adjust and always keep in my mind that I’m driving a wagon is long to able to get out from a parking space I have to watch carefully and when I’m about to merge into the road coming out of a bank I have ti watch for cars coming because when I do my turn to the right into the road cars are that are coming could hit me easily because is long and I I’m trying to merge all the way to the left lane I have to always look behind measure the distance because o could get hit in regular sedan I don’t have to do that because is shorter
@11:39 - I mean... It's only got like 140 bhp from the electric motor (which is meant to work in concert with the ICE) and it's a 4500lb car. It's not going to accelerate like a Tesla in EV mode.

Are you sure your wheels aren't 20s?
Its a bit sad they removed padel shifters on the v60 in 2020 if you bought a 2019 V60 R-design you chould get padel shifters but not anymore.
Theoretically yes, but those padel shifters did not work too well in 2020 model (i.e. reacted too slowly). But otherwise absolutely great car.
Always a wagon before an SUV. I think people in Europe prefer more agile driving. For that you need lower centered car that gives you better handling.
I would buy this, hands and feet down :)
So... an RS4? Especially since this is roughly the same price as an RS4?
We don't get the RS4 in North America :(
Cool, except that there's literally only ONE of these for sale within 500 miles of me. They barely even exist other than on the web.
The biggest problem with the T8 Polestar Engineered is TorqueSteer. Otherwise - it eats highway miles.
on uneven road that is. more or less flat surface and no torquesteer issue.
@@mho0 All roads are crowned... a crowned road does not cause torquesteer. It TorqueSteers regardless of road surface. I never said it pulls you off the road.
