    I own this car. It is not really a fire-breathing budget RS6 despite the sporty branding. It is, however, a true pleasure to drive. I have a 2022 M3 and often choose to drive the Volvo just because it’s so nice. And a bonus is that it comes standard with the best car stereo I’ve ever heard in my life.

      I drive a Volvo V70 III as daily and its awesome. It's not exactly exciting but it has the comfort of a sedan and it doesnt look exactly big but the trunk is massive. I've slept a few times in it and its basically a larger single bed with rear seats folded. It's awesome! Wagons are so underrated nowadays.

Have XC40 at the moment and probably going to hold onto it for another few years to see how things shake out with the V60 and XC60 in terms of pure ev replacements. Having owned a 2017 V60 T6 Polestar Engineered wagon, and now owning an XC60 T8 Recharge SUV/Crossover, I would DEFINITELY own and drive one of these V60 T8 Polestar Engineered wagons! In fact, when I was looking to trade-in my ‘17 V60 Polestar wagon last year, I was actually looking to get the exact model and color that you drove in this test (a 2023 model, of course, because the 2024 models had not come out!). No dealerships within 250 miles had one, nor could they get me one, but a dealer about 20-25 miles away had a pre-owned 2022 V60 T8 Polestar Engineered wagon that their Sales Manager was driving. Unfortunately (for me), it had been driven a lot and showed too much wear-and-tear for a year-old vehicle, so I bought the V60 T8 Recharge SUV that they had on the lot (it was a demo, but it had less than 10,000 miles on it and it’s the R-Design version, which is no longer available ….. plus, I haggled with the dealer for close to a week, until I got a fantastic price on it (apparently, they had a customer who had a Polestar Engineered wagon like my 2017 V60 on his “wish list”). I like the XC60 T8 Recharge SUV, but I REALLY still want a wagon just like the one in this test (I’d take any color, but the Thunder Gray and Nardo Gray are what I really like best).

    This is an absolutely gorgeous vehicle. And with the new motors and range that's quite respectable, this is arguably one of the best available!
    The sad reality is, people aren't buying them. Not in Canada. Not in the United States. Europe, sure, that's why they have the full line up there, as well as several other competitors offering awesome looking and driving wagons. But in North America, the numbers keep dwindling as do the number of options available to us.
    These should be bought 10 times more than competitive SUVs. For a million different reasons. But the sad reality is, they simply aren't.
    I hope to get one of these one day!

    The SUV trend is stupid imo, wagons does everything an SUV does but better, except possibly off-roading, which no SUV ever does anyways. They are just as big or bigger on the inside, lighter than SUVs, look better, better gas milage, less damaging to the roads, more practical to load/unload things into because it is lower. And they handle like a sedan. My theory is that all the people driving SUVs don't know it yet, but what they really need is a proper wagon.

      @@888_p3t3r not, me but the shop I worked at has had a couple xc90’s have pretty catastrophic electrical issues, some with pretty wild oil consumption issues and these are all newest gen “low” mileage cars.

      От вас единственного такое. Я просмотрел всех ютуберов по всему миру. И они говорят, что все такое раньше происходило до 2019 года. Сейчас проблем нет. Главное вовремя приезжать на ТО.

    Volvo is not the hybrid company and Polestar the electric one. Polestar is the sportier of the two car brands but they're really an offshoot of Volvo. In this form they're Volvo's sports skunkworks. This car also has the manually adjustable Ohlins shocks and the gold calipers and seat belt treatments in Polestar's sportiest trim. It actually originated with Polestar Volvos. However, Volvo's plan is to have only electric cars introduced from the C40 onwards. So you see now the EX90, EX30 and the for-China EM90. Polestar's all electric started at the Polestar 2. The Polestar 1 was a hybrid car.

    Its a bit sad they removed padel shifters on the v60 in 2020 if you bought a 2019 V60 R-design you chould get padel shifters but not anymore.

    • @mho0
      @mho0 4 місяці тому

      Theoretically yes, but those padel shifters did not work too well in 2020 model (i.e. reacted too slowly). But otherwise absolutely great car.

    I have a 2020 and think it's better, it has the polestar engineered exhaust, the supercharger, the pedal shifters and a better infotainment system, but sadly 40hp less.

    The biggest problem with the T8 Polestar Engineered is TorqueSteer. Otherwise - it eats highway miles.

    • @mho0
      @mho0 4 місяці тому

      on uneven road that is. more or less flat surface and no torquesteer issue.

      @@mho0 All roads are crowned... a crowned road does not cause torquesteer. It TorqueSteers regardless of road surface. I never said it pulls you off the road.

    Why are we talking in the intro as if Polestar engineered Volvos is a new thing?
    We do know that's what they did first, before being an electric car branch of the company, right?

    All these new cars look fantastic and they probably are for the first few years of their life. But I think I'd rather stick to the mechanical stuff, I much prefer it over all the electric motors and batteries, just seems like if something is going to go wrong, it's going to cost a fortune. IMHO.
