  • Paris Hilton opened up about an unforgettable moment in her life while she was at Provo Canyon School in Utah.
The 41-year-old hotel heiress discussed with New York Times during a recent interview about the sexual abuse experience she had at the school. She also took to Twitter to share that horrifying moment. She tweeted on October 11, “At Provo Canyon School, I was woken up in the middle of the night by male staff who ushered me into a private room and performed cervical exams on me in the middle of the night. Sleep-deprived & heavily medicated, I didn’t understand what was happening. I was forced to lie on a padded table, spread my legs & submit to cervical exams.”

Traumatic experiences have lifelong memories, and it has permanent effects for those who suffered from abuse. Sometimes it haunts us in nightmares, or something that triggers it. At times, individuals believe they are okay enough until something puts them back to not a good state. It's even more hurtful to know, the ones who hurt us are not being punished for what they did and we suffer even more. (it could be they aren't ready to speak up for many factors, or spoke out but negative comments and lack of support etc). The affects on abuse can impact individuals differently and how they cope and heal.
I appreciate Paris sharing and staying strong, and being vulnerable as she knows what they did to her and others isn't right and they shouldn't be getting away from their consequences.

Personally, I don't see what bravery has to do with it nor why, because oftentimes it's just the little energy we have left to say what happens to someone finally willing to hear after all those who turned a deaf ear despite talking clearly. Someone saying to me "you're brave", I find it completely off topic, first I don't need to be brave, second I am not the point, to truly support, hear with heart because to see that finally what we say is heard, to be believed is the step to exit. We don't have to be brave, to the contrary, let us crumble down, with support, for all the exhaustion not only of what was endured but also added to that all the times people dismissed or turned away when they were told. Thank you for allowing me to say this.

@BB They didn't know. Don't say that. Trust that if you end up with a child that no matter what you do, they insist on putting themselves in danger & you have resources, you will do the same. There is so much we know now, previous generations didn't & couldn't. A lot of us don't even realize that most parents are babies themselves when they start procreating.
They are barely in their 20s. This is why it so wrong to be pro-life & force so many to have children when they don't want to. It's hard enough when you chose to become a parent. Also bare in mind that the vast majority of girls no matter the circumstances are still molested by family members & male siblings. There is no safety anywhere against predators.
Have you heard of the term baby burlesque? Well people all over the world use to pay & enriched producers of soft korn thinking it was innocent & cute. Look at the back lash with Tiffany Haddish, a decade ago, it wouldn't even have been an issue. So don't be so quick to always blame parents who want their children, planned for their children & doing their best with rebellious teenagers. Do you know how many are kidnapped every year? And never to be seen. It's terrible what happen to Paris, but since she wants children, she will find out what terror she put her mother through by sneaking out, while being a trust fund baby. You may be too young, but the rest of us, were the ones criticizing, when we saw Kathy & her husband accompanying Paris in Night clubs & sitting there like dumb asses, when their daughter would dance on top of tables while they would sit there & do nothing. The minute you become parent, its damn if you do & damn if you don't. You just don't win!
