No such thing as too many socks! Nothing so good as changing into a dry pair of socks before retiring for the night. If rain ingress doesn't wet your socks, sweat will, so it pays to ensure you've got spares. Cold Kiwi Motorcycle rally, snow surrounding the tent, we've not changed out of our riding gear all day because it's warm and waterproof. Retired to the tent pulled off my boots, pulled off my wet socks (sweat - my boots hadn't leaked), towelled off my damp feet, put on a pair of dry socks out of my pack and suddenly felt _comfortable_ for the first time in hours! Of course, those were the socks I wore the next day and had to replace them with dry socks the following night.
Love your channel. I’m a newbie with a Rally in Wisconsin. I intend to watch all of your videos for my own moto camping setup. Thank you for being so engaging! I really want to learn to change a tire on the road and practice that skill!
I use Slime too for emergency tire repair to get me home. It works. I’ve done tire changes at home with tubes but in the woods…. 😢 But I carry a Lezyne bicycle pump. It never ceases to amaze me the size of battery operated pumps that guys carry when you consider you hardly ever use them. I’ve infaled my tires with a quality manual pump many times and it doesn’t take take long. Barely longer than a battery pump. And it’s not that hard either. Takes a fraction of the space of those monstrosities..! 😜 The rest makes sense. Carry on. 👍🏼
Nice camp gear tour.. Have you considered hammock camping? It greatly reduces the bulky setup of tent, ground cloth heat shield etc. Just a bugscreened hammock and a light tarp if it rains. I think it would suit your style.
Hi mate, thanks for sharing. I don't require thermal gear here in Queensland Australia but I carry similar gear on my CRF Rally. Using a hammock suits my needs and definitely takes up less space. Ride safe brother and enjoy the ride 👍
Really high quality video production. Audio and video are EXCELLENT! I have your exact bike and am working around what to purchase for all my luggage when moto camping. Thank you very much for the superlative content. =D
Good comprehensive video. Definitely gave me some ideas. Do you use the slime as preventative and puncture repair, or just repair? I have a transalp and I am still trying to figure out how I am going to deal with a flat on the trail. I tried removing the rear tire on the TA and as they say it wunt happenin... at least with hand tools... Thanks -AL
@@adventureundone Put Slime in before you get a puncture! The liquid will leak through the hole while the wheel is rotating and get to work whilst the air pressure helps the process. The Slime will leak for a few seconds and hopefully fix the problem. The Slime will generally leak through the hole in the tyre to locate the problem area. With practice (especially rear wheel) you can repair the tube without removing the wheel (can rotate to a suitable position since you have the leak location identified. IMPORTANT, if you are just relying on the Slime without a tube repair....... you may find it starts to leak again as tyre pressure increases on re-inflation. You will generally find that 20psi holds and your good to go. How do I know?....... been there a few times! Take it steady until you or the shop repair/replace the tube.
I mount my pepper spray on the upper bike, I don't want to be trying to dig in bags in an emergency. I ride pretty remote though. Do you pre-slime ur tires or just for a flat emergency?
Did Njoy the video. so Thank you very much 👍 i follow a German biker channel too. and had to look if it was April 1. because they did say that somebody is making a washing machine. to use on a bike for road trips 😛

"shank" 😆 Same - I always have at least one blade on me. I try to remember to take my EDC Benchmade out of my side pocket just in case I crash.
