  • Okay guys I got this elantra gt for ac compressor replacement. Unfortunately in this video I am only be showing on the removal the process because 1. the aftermarket part is wrong, and second it went back to original who called the job. So make sure with this type of repair if you can choose an OEM part, do yourself a favor and do that. Luckily this elantra was just an easy removal compare to those v6 engine. I hope you guys enjoy the video and let me know if you have some suggestion.

great video! i have the same car and when i removed the compressor and opened it i found black oil inside it but the mechanical parts i think it works properly, so i changed the oil and the valve control and it worked very well for 2 days then it stopped working again, so is this because there is a black oil inside the cooling cycle that clog the valve or what? so if i clean the compressor will it work preperly or it's just a waste of time and it's better to replace the compressor with new one?

To be honest with you i havent open a compressor. If you have option to replace the whole unit , i would suggest just replace it.

Your video is so informative! Question, what site did you buy this ac compressor from? I have the same car and need to replace the ac compressor but don't know which site to buy it from.

I work in a dealer so we get our parts from the manufacturer supplier, or you can check rockauto.com

Hey brother, just took my 18 Elantra Sport DCT to the dealership for a coolant leak and replaced the heater hoses, but I still have a coolant leak in front of the lower engine mount, between the engine and transmission. There are NO leaks at the water pump, thermostat, water temperatures control assembly, radiator, heater hoses or the turbo cooling lines…only a leak where the engine meets the transmission. Where else do you think I should look? Head gasket, cracked cylinder block/head?

Theres no other external component for coolant in between engine and transmission. Could be in the block in the rear main seal. I havent seen anything like that yet. If its between engine and transmission, either the transmission needs to be taken down or remove the starter and see inside if there signs of coolant. I dont think theres a access hole underneath the car in the tranny if i remember correctly.

@@hyundaitech oh okay, I’m taking the car to the dealership again on Monday…I’m still under warranty, but the dealership seems hesitant to really look into the leak…I’m hoping they don’t try and tell me there’s nothing wrong and give me a hard time…if they do end up taking the transmission out, do you think it would be a good idea to pay them to replace the clutch packs while the transmission is out? I’m at 37,000 miles

@@Cat-cp1jo dct clutch that should still be warranty if the car still warranty. But if you are thinking that maybe when the car is out of warranty and will get a faulty clutch and you are just doing proactively, you have to talk to the dealership on whats gonna be the transaction for that.

@@hyundaitech okay, thanks for the help! I’ll let you know if the dealership finds the problem, maybe it’ll help you diagnose a problem in the future. Thanks
