- 🌍 How much weight (mass) would you lift if you make the same effort but on different worlds in the Solar System?
In this video it is represented doing a squat, if you were to lift 50 kg on Earth, the result is very different in other worlds with different gravities.

I like the fact that they added shadows and coloured lighting to the character for each planet. They didn’t have to, but they did it anyway.
it's called rendering
It does it on its own. They make the scene, camera angle stays the same, as they add weights, their lighting casts the shadows.
And
bruh there is a shadow on the sun
Can we appreciate the two guys who went on different planets to lift that weigths and film that footage?

When you lift weight, you have to lift your arm as well. The sun’s gravity is so strong that I don’t think you could even lift your arm.
you wouldnt be able to lift a finger. actually, you would probably just get crushed by yourself

Companion video: How far you could throw a similar mass on each, using the same force. (I'm assuming that some would probably go into orbit.)
it's a fun idea but no, no way close to orbit in most, you would only be close on phobos, but I would say no
Calculating air resistance might be tricky.
@@NeroDefogger On ceres you could shot something into orbit with something handheld, maybe launch something all around the planet, on phobos you could easily jump into orbit if you had one of those astronaut thruster packs much less throw something as escape velocity is just 40 km/h
@@nadarith1044 em, what kind of maths are you doing that tells you you can make something orbit on ceres? I have no idea how you got that, and for phobos, as I said, it's hard to know, because the small gravity and big curvature makes it hard to have a good impulse, it would be hard even with the conditions of earth, do better maths
@@NeroDefogger it's called 'googling the escape velocity', try it sometimes
on ceres it's about 500 m/s so a handheld electromagnetic launcher could work to get stuff to orbit, on phobos it's 40 km/h so you can throw stuff into orbit, on deimos it's 20 km/h so a sprint jump would get YOU to orbit, it's not that hard

What's crazy to think about, is that gravity has no effect on mass. So even if you were lifting 86,000kg on Phobos, it would still take a tremendous amount of effort to overcome it's inertia that quickly and those would be some super slow lifts.
And because gravity has no effect on momentum if that bar had even the tiniest downwards velocity vector it would crush you into a pancake despite you having the strength to lift it.
@@h.a.l.3980 except it would take 18.7 seconds to fall a metre to the ground and only be doing 10.7 cm/s when it hit the ground)
@@TimpBizkit doesnt matter how fast it would be. Imagine a literal cruiseship slowly getting closer to you without stopping and ultimately crushing you
@@joshuabauer591 I don’t understand, you’re muscles and skeleton strength remain the same but the 86000kg only weighs 50 on Phobos, how come it would still crush you? I feel stupid not knowing this since I study physics.
@@bonerprime4010 If you held the weight perfectly still, then yes you would be able to hold it up. But if it was moving, since its mass is so big and kinetic energy = (1/2) * mass * (velocity^2), you would need to put a LOT of force to stop it from moving.
Buenísimo!!! Ideal para explicar la diferencia entre masa y peso. Gracias.

Not if you have 86,000kg weight lying around 😏
Fun fact: On Titan, you could legitimately fashion wings for yourself and fly like a bird by flapping your arms. Dense atmosphere + Low Grav let you do that
I love animations like this that puts things in perspective with something common to understand. I can wrap my mind around the gravitational force of the planet by imagining what I'd be able to lift there. You can imagine what moving around and all would be like. Thank you for making this!
Today I learned that Eddie Hall could deadlift 794,640 kg (1.75 million lbs) on Phobos.

Just a measly 875 tons.
I think it is important to factor in the weight of the human body - most people would be incapable to support their own body weight on the sun, much less do a squat that deep.
But awesome video regardless! I was really shocked at how low the gravity was on phobos until i realized that they are only a few kilometers across!
The weight of the human body is the least wrong thing about this video. (I mean, you're right, but there are more things wrong here than that.)

Really cool to see the differences. My only suggestion would be to have a g-factor with Earth being 1G and the moon for instance being 1/6 of a g. Otherwise very interesting.
wait so in order to do similar exercise on moon you need to do 303kg squats? that would be cool af

To complement with more interesting data:
*50kg being lifted on Mercury would only be 18.5kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Venus would be 44kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Mars would only be 19kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Jupiter would be 132kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Saturn would be 57.5kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Uranus would be 58.5kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Neptune would be 59kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on Pluto would only be 5.5kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on the Moon would only be 12.5kg of force on Earth
*50kg being lifted on the Sun would be 1,956,743.5kg of force on Earth (1,956.74 tons)
Curious if you thought to account for added bodyweight, it's pretty impactful on squats.
Your bodyweight would increase = higher bodyweight mass = even more than 50kg squat

Thanks for getting the plates on all the planets i am getting ready to go train.
Amazing animation as always. But usually in the metric system, gravity is measured in m/s². The unit g/m² measures area density.
Superman lifting an entire airplane just like a toy. It is the proof that his home planet might had very strong gravity.
Same case with us, we become Superman in Pluto, Ceres, phobos. 👍🏼
Superman must have very large hands.
Imagine lifting a 747 using two tiny contact points. You just punch a hole on an airplane.
props to this guy who went to different planets and moons to make this video
ur just not funny bro u tried but ur just not funny man
@@wiskipeek1428 Don´t be so toxic bro
Funny but as someone already wrote you ignored inertia. Without any gravity, using equations a=F/m and x=a*t^2/2 you can calculate that:
To move 50kg by 0.5m you need to use force 50N for 1 second.
To move 86000kg by 0.5m you need to use force 50N for 41 seconds.
Doing one rep of exercise for 1s and then the same weight for 41s is not the same for human body.
"Hmm yes sir weve known for gravitation of the earths sphere but in phobos you can carry more than 86Kg for simple body movement and weight but it only depends on how much force and weight you can carry on phobos"🤓🤓🤓

Very eductational. Now I know how much weight to bring to my trip to mars next week for my gym session. Thanks a lot.
what's even cooler is that they didn't account for your bodyweight, so your torso, arms, head etc would also weigh a lot more or less!
Damn, I had no idea I could lift 50kg on earth!
Can we just thank the camera man traveling to different planets/moons just to show us how much weight you can lift there?
I love that floating pad saying DANGER! 😂
Remember that your muscle mass and bone density would go down with time on those lower gravity planets.
So I can paint myself green, go to Phobos, lift an 80 ton boulder over my head, yell out, "HULK SMASH!!", and throw the boulder a nice distance? Sweet 👍
Doom Guy would have been a monster.
LOL - as long as you anchor yourself to the ground first - so that you don't float away while throwing that boulder.
If dropping it on your feet is a nice distance, then yeah.
I was expecting a shipping container to drop on him at the Sun
But in all seriousness, this is awesome, and the animation is really good!
Nice
No
the weight of a match is ~2 grams... I bet you can't lift it over your head more than 200 times... )))
Lo mismo pensé, creo que solo está considerado el de las pesas
no considero nada, ni peso de la persona o la presión atmósfera, y se me hace una lástima al ser un video bien trabajando (hasta cierto punto)
Did you mean to put 'm/s^2' instead of 'g/m^2'? I've never heard of the latter.
Love your videos.
So basically punching someone on Phobos turns you into one punch man.
That last one had me crying
I guess that answers the question of "Bro, do you even lift?"

:O
everyone is talking about how huge phobos’ weight is but how did they get it to phobos?
Phobos's sportsmens: Hahaha easy 86000 kg
Earth's sportsmens: @_@
Damn frieza be looking good in the video
To be fair, you won't be able to just lift 86t on Phobos, not even without any gravity
You'd be the one moving lol
Not if you were squatting underneath, you’d definitely be able to push it away. Bringing it back down on the other hand…
@@ParisuSama That is a very fair point
Your channel got hacked by a random bitcoin guy
ppl on earth: this is so heavy!
phobos: im bout to end this mans whole career
"How much you squat?"
"Just under 90 tons"
You're accounting for gravity but not inertia. Lifting huge weights with little gravitational influence is like trying to push a boat.
Besides, if you managed to squat several thousand kilos you'd launch the bar into space.
These weights are based on anchoring yourself to the ground first - so that you don't float away.
You're right that it's wrong, but you've got the wrong reason...
its really more for entertainment and one specific purpose. itd be less fun if they were completely accurate

its not gravity , its acceleration due to gravity whose unit is m/s squared .
@@srikanth-xi9cb haha
What happened? Are you hacked?
Yes, its obvious hacked. I saw same incident in the past, famous channel got hacked by bitcoin hacker-always streaming live bitcoin-the channel name also changed.
From what I know, the video is almost correct, except for the fact that on each of the moons and planets the animation shows the person lifting the weight in the exact same amount of time.
It is true that you could hold 790 kg on Pluto with the same force as 50 kg on Earth, same for squating down. But on the way up you would have to not only oppose the force of gravity but accelerate the weight. In order for the person in the video to accelerate 790 kg upward like they show in the video, they would have to be able to lift more like 130 kg on earth than 50.
And to lift 86000 kg on Phobos, you'd need to be able to lift 4430 kg on Earth
En la Tierra: No puedo ni levantarme de la cama.
En Phobos: Levanto mi casa y mi coche con una mano y una montaña con la otra.
Love how that person is calmly carrying 86000kg like it’s no big deal
It won't be on phobos
