    Man I wish I had that much flat yard to cut. I have an XT2 with the fabricated 42” deck and have a hilly half acre full of roots and garden beds. Nice choice!

    The only thing I would change is the gas tank in the filler neck. I wish it were a little more upright because if you get just a little bit too much in it and some bumpy ground, it does tend to leak until it goes down some, but other than that, very thrilled with that tractor.

    Great video ! I bought the same tractor for my 1/2 acre which is overgrown like yours. I haven’t cut the grass/weeds yet as it is still winter but , this video showed the CC XT2 is a really good choice. Thank you for posting this .

    Mine was delivered today, XT2 42" small yard, mostly shaded woods, many trees and obstacles to mow around.

    I have the same mower but a 50". I threw some chrome hub caps on it and it completely changed the appearance. In is "NEW" state, it looked like a car that had the hub caps stolen.

    I have an XT1 42" with the 18HP Single Cylinder Kohler engine....on my 6th season with it and 124 hours no issues. I mow about 3/4 of an acre a couple times a year with it, the rest of the time its more like 1/2 an acre of lawn, the other 1/4 acre is pasture that dies off in the summer so it don't have to be mowed. In the spring the grass/weeds are pretty heavy/thick and that mower goes through it like nothing. I run Gator G6 blades on it.
    I do have the snow blower, but don't get to use it much as we haven't had enough snow the past few years to even bother installing it. It works, but its a pain in the a** to install, not a very well thought out installation design. I now have a sub-compact tractor with a loader and a few other implements if I need to remove snow so I've really been considering selling the snow blower as I doubt I'll ever use it again...the blower cost more than the lawn tractor but they're not worth much in the aftermarket.

    I have that more with the next bigger deck, the 54 fabricated deck that is an awesome deck with the fast connect blades. It’s one of the nicest lawnmowers I’ve driven in a few years, but I wish I would’ve gotten the next one up size with the 60 inch deck, the bigger tractor but I didn’t have the extra $2200 at the time One day I will get a bigger one 😊 but overall, I am really happy with this mower. Mine doesn’t have the Kohler motor in it. Mine has the other option. It’s just a little bit larger engine.

    I bought the exact same lawn tractor a month ago. Traded in my Husqvarna 46". Great Lawn Tractor. I feel alot safer on this one and the Stability and extra horse power is a Major+ as well. The handling is better and for some reason, it uses less gas than the B&S 22 hp on the Husqvarna. I am very pleased with my Cub Cadet XT2 LX46" Lawn Tractor.

      I had a Craftsman with a 24HP V-Twin on it, that thing guzzled gas, and never ran right from day 1...managed about 200 hours before it finally blew up...don't miss that thing at all, the only nice thing with it was it has a manual transaxle where my Cub Cadet XT1 has the hydrostatic transaxle.

      @@wildbill23c I hear ya. Mine has a 22 horsepower with the 54 inch deck. I like it so much I hate to get a new one but at the same time how much money should you spend fixing a 20 yr tractor? I been looking at a 50 inch cub cadet tractor but don't know if I should lol

      @@michaelrobinson2048When my old Craftsman GT6000 died in 2016 after 21 years of mowing 2 acres, it was only replaced because of the engine failure, couldn't find an engine that would fit at the time, as it was a horizontal shaft 18HP twin cylinder engine that was on it...I think it was actually an Onan engine. Should have kept it and figured out an engine for it because the YT4000 that replaced it was garbage from the beginning...managed to get 7 years out of it before it decided to throw a rod. I've had my Cub Cadet XT1 42" lawn tractor with the 18HP Kohler single cylinder engine now for 6 years...seems to be doing fine so far....but I've got a backup if/when it dies...but the backup will outlive me LOL.

    My XT1 42 inch 19 horsepower quit working after three hours, and I was promised they would come out to my house for service,AND they DON'T!!!
    The Drive Belt popped off,it won't go forward or backwards, and it's really hard for a 70Plus old woman to fix it myself,

    My XT1 LX50 just mowed a lawn with about 3 feet high of grass. I didn't go with the zero turn either because of the exact same reason as you. I got a 250 foot driveway and we get a lot of snow here so I want a plow and snow blower attachment on it and the zero turns did lawn mowing only. If you get a snow blower or plow attachment later I'd like to see how it does with those attachments. One of the reason I got the 50 inch model is because it had a bigger engine so I thought it might do the snow blowing better, but almost got the same size as you. I'll check out your other videos, maybe you've posted videos on this already.

      I have the XT1 with the Kohler 18HP single cylinder engine....I have the snow blower for it, and it does fine you just have to go slow if you have heavy wet snow of course, but it'll do it...most snow I've had though was 10 inches...I've had the blower for 4 years and I've only been able to use it 3 times wasn't worth the ridiculous price they charged for that blower...I've thought about selling it but couldn't get anything for it to justify selling it.

    • @ThePatriotPirate
      @ThePatriotPirate 11 місяців тому +1

      @@wildbill23c I could have used my blower at least 10 times just last year. We got 3 snow storms in a single week even. I feel like the price tag is pretty high but comparing it to a push blower when you have a 250 foot driveway and snow storms weekly it sounds like it will be worth it for me

    • @wildbill23c
      @wildbill23c 11 місяців тому

      @@ThePatriotPirate Sounds more like a sub-compact tractor/blower would be a better investment. I have a pretty small circle driveway and don't get enough snow most of the time to even justify having a snow blower...if you live in an area that gets that much snow, I'd put the money towards a much better higher quality tractor/blower....the blowers for these lawn tractors are all belt drive...the commercial snow blower that I could get for my Kubota BX2680 has a driveshaft from the mid-PTO to the gearbox on the blower, and is all gear driven.
      For very light occasional use these little snow blowers on a lawn tractor are ok, I wouldn't try to use it for heavy snow removal use daily or weekly. If you must go this route, make sure you get the biggest engine you can in the lawn tractor, and the heaviest lawn tractor you can get, it'll help in traction, and the larger engine will have the power to go through the heavy wet snow and drifts.

      Not that a warranty "tells all", but, with the JD 2 year -120 hour vs CC 3 year - UNLIMITED HOURS warranty, it was a no brainer. JD PLASTIC spindle covers vs CC METAL covers, JD's "easy change" oil filter costing 50 bucks that ONLY changes 1/2 quart - leaving 1 1/2 quarts of old oil is just another way to hasten the planned obsolescence of JD products.... There are oil drain conversions kits for the JD, but just having the "designers" think this is a good idea PROVES their total lack of ethical integrity.... The 120 hour limit was the main factor that directly correlates to JD's confidence level of a design with a very limited service life.... Plus there are too many reports of the belts flying off and breaking.... SO, my LT46 XT-1 will be delivered next week 🙂 (IF you just bought the JD, you are still within the 30 day return policy).... P.S. NEVER use the washout port - AKA as deck rust accelerator and spindle bearing killer....
