I have seen this concept of bar clamps on the net and decided to do my own bar clamps.
Bar clamps are never enough in the workshop.
Are expensive and we can save a lot of money doing this at home.

I love what you have done with these clamps. Simplicity makes for a better life and I believe I'm going to make a few of these in the next week. Thanks for sharing.

It's always nice to make something for much cheaper then what you would have paid for it! Great video!

I've just made 8 clamps approx 1m long for around £40. I just used my table saw to cut notches in the back of the bar which works with M6 threaded rod to hold the sliding end in place (approx 3.5mm kerf from table saw) and is quicker than drilling and cutting. I just used some strip aluminium to hold those clamp ends together. I also just bolted through the bar to hold the screw clamp head rather than gluing which will mean I could reverse to use the clamps as spreaders or move the clamp parts to longer/shorter bars if need be. Still to use seriously but seem fine in tests.

I agree, and also from mechanical point of view. And if fixed part is made the same way as sliding part it would be even easier to make.

@@mah385 The design is exactly to what it was made centuries ago, there is a video on UA-cam showing the original sample and it's same as the ones you made.

When I try this I always end up with bending length of wood. Do you use old wood or does the "FOX raboteuse" cures all the bending ?

Yes, I use dry wood. The jointer is not enough. I use a planer before.
