MAN, this was so incredible! I’m not exaggerating when I tell you that this really helped me see the Thoth a whole lot more clearly when compared to Tabula Mundi and I finally felt my brain flip the switch!!! So helpful, thank you!!
Thank you for this excellent video! I just received my Tabula Mundi deck yesterday- apparently the mid-size decks don't come with the booklet so I had no idea what the cards meant. I have gone through my deck several times and didn't see the nuances you have pointed out. Your explanation really helped- thanks again!
Thank you for this. I have the black and white Tabula Mundi and have always been curious about how it compares to Crowley's Thoth :) I have the Thoth too but just haven't had the mental space to investigate the comparison myself :)
Glad you like it. Yes, I found it really interesting to compare the two side-by-side. Quite a difference between the two, yet the underlying framework is still there.
Your knowledge is immense. You have clearly spent many years studying the tarot. I hope to see many more videos from you in the future. I've always been put off by Crowley and the Thoth deck. He had such a bad reputation (which is obviously denied by his apologists); and so much tragedy surrounded Crowley's life. Does any of that reflect in his Thoth deck ?
Hi...did i miss something? what's the purpose of the hebrew letters on the cards? Also i thought that ive watched enough videos to have seen every card but this is the first time im seeing the adjustment card and the princesses...could they be called anything else?
Many decks based on the Golden Dawn model are based on Qabalistic teachings and as such, each of the 22 Trumps correspond to one of the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet. Though it's not necesary to know the Hebrew letters to work with these decks, it can be helpful sometimes in interpreting the symbolism on the cards. Oh - and the Princesses correspond to the Pages & Adjustment correspond to Justice.
Oooh ok...that was a fun fact. I know you feel like it's not neccessary but i would feel more accurate if I could read everything on the cards. I've been interested in the hebrew alphabet anyway. I guess I need to start researching Qabalistic teaching now. I've never heard of that before. So if i really wanted to know the tarot..where would you suggest i start??
It depends on what deck you're using. If you're studying Thoth, Lon Milo Duquette's book "Understanding the Thoth Tarot" is a good place to start. If you're working with the Rider-Waite-Smith deck, Rachel Pollack's "78 Degrees of Wisdom". There are actually tons a great books out there. I hope you enjoy your journey!
The Tabula Mundi is awful, Thoth vastly superior. Of course it's a matter of personal taste, but I like how Lady Harris employed the Golden Dawn colour scales.

Ok. Thank you so much. I thought the Ryder Waite was the original deck tarot? Sorry so many questions
hello where do I get the Tabula Mundi deck its very interesting to me as someone who is learning the Thoth tarot
You can get it from the artist's website at: www.tabulamundi.com/
Is that Crowley on the Lovers card?
I don't recall ever reading anything to that effect.
No, but is it the Hermit on the Lovers card? ;)
