I appreciate your comments! I think Chicago is one of the best cities in the US. The neighborhoods that the Brown Line run through are really pretty and unique.
Although I left Chicago in 1976, I still consider it to be my home town. It was a real treat for me to watch this video. You are a talented videographer.
I feel bad that the video is not HD yet. I should wait to release videos in the future until UA-cam fully renders the video in HD. Thanks for watching.
Thank you! When I saw the brilliant red sky, I knew I wanted to film it and put it in a video someday! It was amazing and the sunset was so short lived, just a couple minutes later it wasn't as amazing.
I'm sad the video isn't in HD yet. Soon though. This is the neighborhood I live in, so I get lots of exposure to it, riding and also walking along the track. I would love to make a video of the rest of the Brown Line, and also the Green Line and Orange Line. I should spend a few days walking along those routes.
The Ravenswood line is how I got around growing up. Francisco was my old stop, a fairly quiet and rinky dink station back in the day. Wooden and usually painted white with and orangey-red trim. I can't count all the times I would saunter along the gravel between the tracks to scale the little service ladder at the end of the platform and ride without paying. Having gone to strict Catholic schools my whole life, I guess it was my teenage way of being 'bad.' My mom sold the house in Ravenswood Manor more than 15 years ago now, and I live across the country, but this video took me back.
loving your adventures 🍸 outdoor metros are simply the best, if not by next year then supposedly by 2022 we'll have our own, although the trains'll be fully screened at stops

I love Chicago! i'm a Filipino and we've been for a year only but I must say that this is a beautiful city. I even posted my video too when we walk by the Lake, in Downtown and our first ever Boat Tour. You can check it out too. We were amazed!

The CTA is noisy, so maybe neighbors would appreciate soundproofing walls. I'm really glad they don't do that because it would not look good. Many highways in Chicago have soundproofing walls along it.
@@gradientgamer5480 I hope so, but it’s not likely that a once or twice a year traveler will complain about a bus. They will just think it’s normal. If COVID hadn’t happened, I’m pretty sure the train would be open by now.
Thank you, for me a Fantastic video, showing the many beautiful views of the Brown line neighborhoods. Adding this to my favorites.

I love doing cta train watching between Rockwell and Francisco. Also love cta train watching on the purple line north of central. Thanks for sharing.
I want to make a similar video of this stretch of the Purple Line. The bridge over the river is very unique for a transit system!
@@Luke_Starkenburg exactly, hope they don't get rid of that bridge
Very nice video! I have never seen a level crossing for subway trains and nice to see the surroundings!

Amazing scene at 5:42, the colour, a couple walking, the train...very good 👍 cheers from Ireland 🇮🇪

SUPERB !!! It's always with JOY, DELIGHT & AWE, that I watch your videos, Luke. I so admire your skills and creativity. THANKS !!!
Thank you so much!!!
I haven't been on the El in a while, but I always love seeing the little train cars bounce around on the old tracks. Great video as always!
The loop of the Chicago Elevated train is very unique and famous among rail fans around the world.
Yes, I have several videos featuring the loop and the El in downtown Chicago.
Very well done. This is one of the few El lines that I have ridden. I should get down there more often just to railfan.

Thanks! I think Chicago is one of the best big cities in the US. I hope you had good weather. Today, it is so windy and cold, rainy!
Yeah, just staying at home for now. Good thing we were able to experienced The Boat Tour before it is totally cold 🙂
Crazy lady sneaking under the barrier at 4:47🙄
Yes, I was surprised to see that; I don't think see even looked to make sure another train wasn't coming from the other direction!
@@Luke_Starkenburg I’m certainly getting the same feeling! Doesn’t look like she cared about oncoming trains at all!

7:04 11 foot 10 ok why is the 11 foot 8 more popular that the 11 foot 10 here
11 foot is very low. Taller trucks won't fit under this.
@@Luke_Starkenburg no accidents recorded here in chicago's ll foot 10

in one of the clips, i think can hear a Federal Signal modulator doing a test
