The usherettes at the Regal were so smart in their uniforms. They'd sell ice creams and Kiora orange juice in the interval. I never realised the Regal was so big! I loved the 'cinema speak' - it was always "Wednesday next". It was good to see the 78rpm of Reginald Dixon on the organ of the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool playing a "Student Prince - Selection". My grandad Alec had a 78 of The Student Prince with Mario Lanza singing on it. We use to play it on his radiogram. I had a tape cassette of Mr Maurice Iliffe playing the Hammond Organ at the Iron Duke (now sadly lost).
