I've been using one called the EMU E6400 ultra. Those samplers have a sound but programming it like a vcr. I love it. Check out the Akai S5000 or Akai Z8. 350 to 500 bucks.

Is your rhythm programmed in the track as single notes or loops? I tried to answer my own question by examining the midi channels on the S6k, as well as the tracker. Well done, regardless.
