- Lebanon’s militia group, Hezbollah flaunted its arsenal in a two-hour-long exercise in Aaramta village in Lebanon on May 21. During the drill, masked fighters jumped through flaming hoops, fired from the back of motorcycles, and blew up Israeli flags posted in the hills. The exercise came ahead of Liberation Day, the annual celebration of the withdrawal of Israeli forces from south Lebanon on May 25, 2000. The drill comes amid rising tension between Israel and Iran. The thing about those "welding tubes" is that if they are flying through the air towards a residential area, that $50 tube WILL garner a response from the Iron Dome. The Iron Dome doesn't know whether or not it has a warhead on it, and will treat it as if it's ready to cause damage. What happens when 200 of these $50 iron tubes fly towards a residential area at the height of combat? It confuses the missile deterrence programs in the Iron Dome which will start to target even it's own projectiles (just like we saw it do in Gaza 2 years ago this month). Evoking a missile defense battery response as such will allow for triangulation the weapons platform and during the confusion and battery reloads, in those times there are holes for greater opportunities to allow actual Hezbollah owned Iranian missiles to strike their target to take down the Iron Dome platform piece by piece in a short amount of time. NEVER EVER underestimate how low tech can absolutely undermine so called technologically superior weapons systems. Tactics will win every time, and Hezbollah is more tactical and battle hardened than nearly anyone in the whole of Asia and Africa due to real world combat and their victories in Syria.

EVERY SINGLE MISSILE DEFENSE SYSTEM ON EARTH is prone to being overcome by missile saturation and in a theatre such as northern Israel/ southern Lebanon, I'm almost certain we'll see Israel lose it's counter measures for missile deterrence fairly quickly. If that happens then even Syria, Iranians in Syria and Iraqi Shia militias can start firing their missiles with little resistance. Imagine a scenario where IAF planes can't land or take off from runways due to constant rocket peppering the blacktop. Israel losing air superiority in a matter of days is a VERY real scenario in modern combat... and it all starts with flying welded tubes.
