@@Em-iq9le im a technician, but even i have never seen a person being so disconnected to the person he is talking to. Linus took it well tough, what a good sport, he definitely tried time and again to get the ball rolling.
The best part about this is that you know Linus is going to have some extra stories on the WAN show and we get to hear Luke's responses

I really enjoyed this episode, it felt like it varied wildly between Linus talks like he would on a normal podcast and the boys being comparatively insane and trying to drag him into it, and every once in a while, he cracked. I liked both sides of it, good ep fellas

This is the Schrödinger episode of the yard where it is equal parts the greatest ep and worst ep all at once. Everybody is real happy about slime finally knowing somebody so much that they in fact do not for a single time introduce anybody. Love to see it. Also would've loved for this to be longer.
The LTT "scandal" stuff was disappointing but far from something that they couldn't easily come back from with good management. They have shown that they are willing to adjust and take the criticism well, and Linus' ego got a needed check that has made new content really good in my opinion. Been watching since 2015, and happy to keep supporting.

I remember when it was a big thing that a Linus F-bomb got through his beep button on the WAN show. It's completely different when he's in an environment where that's normal.

Since Linus said he'll read the comments, the Ludwig PC video had no stakes. The punishments happened too much. The gameplay might as well have been replaced with random dice rolls. Map choice wasn't great especially because Ludwig doesn't play Minecraft. The setup has potential but the video needed more time in the oven.
Idk I liked the punishment amount it was like watching someone play a game with a hose in their face
It also wasn't really an LTT video - they didn't show off the punishment machines, they didn't show building it, they didn't give any info about the tech beyond a brief mention. It was entertaining in its way, but likely missed a lot of both audiences.

What's crazy is I knew who hotbid was way back in the days of him running interviews for Team liquid. I did not know who they were talking about whenever they mentioned Ken Chen for the longest time.
Honestly, LTT has been one of the first "educational" channels I've watched, since the start, and I loved this episode, as well as those two collaborations on Linus's channels. It's just so endearing watching Linus outside of the usual studio environment. Same reason why I loved Channel Super Fun, and the company trip vlogs, and even his trip to Singapore and upgrading WiFi and what not

If anyone was curious, at 56:15 when they discuss Linus' son being legit at minecraft, I found it. It was in the "What i do on my day off" video, he was playing hypixel bedwars (airship map) and was staircasing up straight without shift.
Clicking method: Butterfly clicking, by the looks of things pretty well. If he was double clicking all the inputs, I'd guess around 14-16 cps
More specifically it was a kind of witchly staircasing, strafing by alternating D and S to bridge up slower than just holding S.
Was kinda hoping to see a 12 year old telly bridging or pulling some insane crap like that lmao, but still pretty good.
The video cuts just before he fails the bridge, unless he managed to pull a double extension clutch, he fell off and either he was a final at that point, or the cut in the video was longer than it seemed.
By the aesthetics of the overlay info mods, he was probably using lunar or blc client. Either that or he put in quite some time to set up a forge client that way.

Going from maybe one of the craziest openings ever to a more intricate and real talk of the societal landscape that UA-cam has right now was dope. Liked hearing the more philosophical takes from Linus about being the owner of a company and a UA-cam and how he perceives it and interacts with the surrounding community

Slime says that we have not had a president under 6’. This is extremely untrue. James Madison was 5’4 and was the shortest president. It is sometimes also claimed that we have not had a president under 6’ since the widespread adoption of the television, but this is also untrue though it’s a lot closer to the truth. The only television-era president under 6’ was Jimmy Carter, who is 5’10.

A thing about network goods is that the best thing isn’t always the most successful, which is why the funniest episodes are 8 out of 10’ers
I’ll be honest it gets harder and harder to listen to episodes with guest because they spend the whole episode cutting them off mid story and the guest is just left looking like they don’t know why they came on the show, it feel like the only reason guest come on the show is because they’ve never watched an episode so they dont know what to expect
This is like a perfect combination for me i love the yard episodes and linus videos are either super informative or off the wall crazy stuff which is always fun

@@enchiladaslayer61 didn't say it was a bad thing, it's just pretty evident that the style of humour and references they make in this podcast would, on average, appeal more to people around the age of 13, compared to Linus's content which I think probably has an average viewer age of closer to 17-18. That's no shade on you if you like it, it just means there's likely to be a disconnect between Linus's audience and the style of this podcast

Idk if you’ve ever watched content for 13 year olds but I don’t think we connect with that audience at all, unfortunate because we’d be getting some insane ad revenue. Also don’t think it’s surprising a show based on friends in their 20s making each other laugh is appealing to a segment of people also in their 20s.
