Bioshock was one of those games that opened my eyes to the storytelling potential of this medium and helped me realize just how creative people are in this industry. I've been waiting on this one for a while, can't wait to finally get my hands on it!
I think people forget that bio shock 1 and 2 were also very ammo efficient type games were you had to be super selective on how you used your ammo, magic, health, and other resources or you would quickly run out and be very screwed
And it was also rewarding cause if you knew how to manage your stuff and efficiently take out enemies, your wallet would constantly be overflowing. I would constantly buy a bajillion electric slug shells and grenade frags when I needed them cause I was managing my plasmids in earlier levels.
@@Anduz001I combined that with the no Vita chamber one. Man that was a pain. But when I replay it now, I always do both. I've replayed it too much to do anything but hard
I'm seeing this sentiment a lot recently with the number of legendary game directors making their long-awaited return to a beloved franchise. But let's be real: as long as the game is funded by a major holdings company (such as Take Two Interactive, this game's publisher) it's not going to be any less "accessible", "watered-down", whatever you wanna call it, than its predecessors. The ONLY hope for that lies in true indie games. That said I'm sure this will be a very worthwhile and fun game. I'm just very skeptical of the "return to the glory days" type of hype.
@@IlIlllIIIllIIlIIlII Ok, let me put this another way: Bioshock 1 & Infinite were also AAA titles, and even flawed, I do love both games; yes: both. I´ve recently replayed Infinite from start to finish, and even though it wasn´t what the trailers back then promised, and neither what we expected, I still believe it to be a fine game. So, of course Judas isn´t going to be perfect and all, but then again: what is? If it manages to be quality wise on a level with the two Levine-Shocks, I´m happy.

Thank you for this amazing video Jake! I'm excited to play Judas as Bioshock were amazing games and the whole vibe that Ken brings to his games is exceptional. You cannot find it anywhere else!
The Bioshocks are my all time favorite games. I’ve been waiting for an update on Ken Levine’s next game and Bioshock 4 for years now. How crazy would it be if they end up releasing at the same time.
Cant wait for this! I love these types of games (stuck on a ship in space) and the types of humanity and human behavior that come out from it. Thank you for the sneak peak and gameplay!
Thanks for the update. I am looking forward to the game. I expect it to be something different than BioShock as a whole but still have that stamp on it. I am probably going to start a BioShock run and play all 3 games now.
So basically what you’re saying is we’re gonna fall in love with a robot dog only to watch it get killed in front of us dammit I don’t know if I can handle that. Those cuts always sting the most.
Looks awesome! I have many favorite franchises but them being equally loved the bioshock franchise has by far the most replay ability that every few years I can play it again and it is just as awesome as the 1st time. I can’t say that for any of the other franchises I love. So I’m super excited to see his new game.
Been waiting 10 years (Damn, I'm old) for Ghost Story's "return", and will absolutely take anything BioShock in space-adjacent. More excited for this game now than ever.
I can't wait! Bioshock is one of the GOATS and I've been desperately waiting for a follow up since Infinite. This looks like Bioshock without the name, and I can live with that!😃
This early look confirms my interest in this game. It looks amazing so far. Thanks for the early breakdown of where it is and where it’s probably going. Super cool.
You are so lucky 🍀 you got play this awesome game, in all seriousness though I am happy you got to play Ken Levine new game Judas and I am very excited to play that game myself in the future.
Hearing that Ken wants to make an non-linear game makes me concerned because we all know how that turned out last time in infinite. He's also known for being difficult to work with, scrapping months of implementation just to make a perfect game.
Huge fan of the creator. I’ll more than likely check out the pod. Also love the timing of main stage neurolink having their first human procedure done by robots. Uncanny 🔥🔥🔥
Bioshock Infinite is my favorite game. I’ve been trying to recapture that lightning in a bottle that I have experienced with the story. Hopefully Judas has that same atmosphere and satisfying gameplay. But hey we’ll see 🤷♂️
Love the channel and can always count on you for informative breakdowns of games that would probably be outside of my radar. I have been playing El Paso Elsewhere on my Steam Deck and loving every aspect of it. The mood, the music, and the over the top noir dialogue quickly put it high on my play list. We starting to see gaming industry is coming back to it's former glory with all the good indie titles plus Levine's coming back with a masterpiece, i just know there will be a light house somewhere in the game XD
More often than not, video games are awesome. Judas looks awesome. I will most likely be picking it up day one. One of my wife's favorite video games we played together was Bioshock Infinite. I love those memories I have playing it together. I hope this one delivers in the same way.
I think we have come to that point, now, where Judas' presentation finally matches the fidelity of CG (not in-engine) first person shooter trailers of yesteryear ( / 2 generations ago).
It was interesting to hear your take on this compared to Skill Up. I am now even more hyped about this game than I was before. It sounds AMAZING. One thing you mentioned that Skill Up talked about more is the "psudo-procedural" element. Based on his description, it sounds like they are taking another crack at what Bethesda tried and failed to do with Starfield: procedural presentation of curated events. What you run into will be determined procedurally, but the actual content is curated. This is very much like what planetary exploration was supposed to be like for Starfield. I was a great concept, but the one big issue is that, if you are going to do this, then the number of different curated events must be VERY large. This is where Bethesda failed HARD. If Judas can get this right, we are looking at one of the most interesting and potentially immersive experiences ever created for a game. I can't wait.
I'm not even gonna front as a fan of Ken Levine and the Bioshock Franchise, happy for the experience that can be shared about JUDAS ! Fascinating! 10 years ago they set out to make this game focused on AI as enemies, and now AI is real in real life in a real new way. I'm super excited about this game! Thanks for sharing!
Probably one of the few games I can safely say I'm very excited about. Levine is one of a kind, and this game seems to deliver on most of the things that made his previous creations so good, mainly good and easy going gameplay mechanics, story and an ever present critique of humanity's flaws regardless of time and space and how we will eventually make the most perfectly planned out utopias crumble under our arrogance.
