Thanks so much for sharing! I was the third generation of men in my family to graduate from Elgin High School: my grandfather was class of ‘36, my father class of ‘69, and I was class of ‘07. In the beginning of the video was a family headstone for “Gromer”. The Gromer family used to own a few grocery stores in Elgin and was actually quite close with my own family.
This is crazy to see I was born and raised in Elgin and still live here too. Born in the old Sherman hospital. Class of 2011 Elgin high, live right off the American legion
Hi Bruce, is there a back story on how you acquired this video footage. Did you know anyone or family live in Elgin? Does anyone know or identify any of the people in the video? Interesting to see some familiar place in Elgin.
Good Morning, I am always looking forward to vintage videos of downtowns, railroads and military. I happen to luck out on this one, I found this one while searching for railroads on EBay. Sometimes you win and other times you lose. Thanks for your comments. Bruce

Thank you so much for sharing! It's interesting to see how much of a different town it is today.
You're Welcome, it was my pleasure to keep history alive. Bruce
