Really enjoy your reviews...We stayed here last week (6/23/23) and enjoyed our stay. The only problem we had was we missed the turnoff to the campground. I know, rookie mistake! The long, winding, steep road wasn't fun! Finally got to the end of the road, circled around the mountain and made it back to the campground. It's a beautiful campground and would definitely stay here again. We also stayed at Hosack Run earlier in the week. Pennsylvania has some beautiful State Park campgrounds! Thanks for sharing them with us.

That makes our day to hear that! (Not so much about the road - that road is windy - and we can't imagine it with a trailer!!!) We are so glad you are finding the campground tours helpful! Agreed - PA has some great State Parks!

    Hi Shannon and Karen,
As always, the park and also campground information is appreciated.
I have never seen fire woods are sold at the park, How nice! 3:05
I hope everybody respect the honor system to pay their dues.
Great to know little tips on lots.
The family with young children must to be happy to know there is a playground in the park.
Thank YOU very much for taking time touring for us. Ciao.
Apologies for my absence due to filming and vacationing. I am back now

So my wife and I try to look up each campground we stay at on UA-cam. Then we search out sites available. Very rarely do we find a video that actually shows the site. You nailed it. I think we just booked site 56 for the last weekend in July because of your video. Thank you. We have considered doing campground/campsite tours for youtube. We just haven't started and probably won't. Thank you again.

Oh we love to hear that! Thank you! We started doing these because we too couldn't find any videos that showed what it was that we were looking for - so decided to make the videos in a manner that we would find helpful! Happy Camping! You will LOVE it there!

Nice campground and I can see why you use it on a regular basis. I like the Honour Boxes and we have a lit of the same in the UK too, where farmers will leave farm priced produce on the road and you can take what you want and leave the money in an honesty box. The restrooms looked very clean and plenty of showers too, something that is a deal breaker for me. I like the fact they provide picnic table and fire pits, something I would enjoy, especially as open fires are mainly frowned upon in the UK. Looked a good well laid out campsite with a lot going on, cheers Alan

Hi Alan! Yes, we too are pretty picky when it comes to what we consider to be a nice stay! We have been staying there quite a bit lately while doing some of our Appalachian Trail Museum videos and meeting some WONDERFUL people!
We have quite a few of the honor things here too - we are surrounded by orchards and a lot of individuals do gardens and sell flowers, vegetables, etc - all which are normally honor system transactions!
Hope you have a great week!

Thanks for this video! Amazingly much of the park looks just like it did 50 years ago. Our family spent at least a week there every year when i was growing up and they are some of my most cherished memories. Even the museum looks much the same.

@@wanderingoutyonder well I guess I just proved how old I am. Because I intended to comment on the video for Clear Creek State Park. I have no idea how it ended up here! Autoplay I guess.

I liked your video so much I booked 2 nights at Pine Grove Furnace. I just returned and I had site 68. One of the highlights for me was talking with the thru hikers at the General Store. All four of the guys completed the Ice Cream Challenge. I also met a Lady who is in the process of doing the trail in one calendar year. She is 80 years old!

Aw, That's great!!!! One of our favorite state parks...such a good time of year to catch the AT thru hikers. Typically through July you will run into them. Always fun to hear their adventures! Thanks for watching!

We love this campground! #33 is our favorite site. The only thing that kind of frieked me out is there is the fact that it is close to a main rd.

Nicely wooded spots. Love waking up to a forest scene through the windows . Everything is so green and beautiful right now too. We're staying in a hotel right now while doing a job and this seriously has us missing sleeping in the van outdoors.

Hahah - that sounds like us - we actually sleep better in the van! There is nothing better than being in the middle of the outdoors first thing in the morning! Thanks for watching guys!

Hi there, loved the look around the campsite and the pitches, very interesting. Like how you have picnic tables and fire pits on every pitch. It looked a lovely place to camp amongst the trees. Do you ever worry about the bears? We don't get bears in the uk x Julie and Tony x

Does the area have things to do besides the campground ?

    • @wanderingoutyonder
      @wanderingoutyonder  3 місяці тому

Absolutely! There is a historic furnace there and some of the building associated with it - two lakes, the Appalachian Trail museum (the only museum in the country dedicated to hiking), the site of the Half Gallon Challenge, numerous hikes, a general store, and so much more!
