This machine combines separate thin threads into one thicker one. Original design from a Meccano Magazine article from 1928 (94 years ago!) much altered by myself.
You're missing the point, the point is not to build thye machine, it's to build it in Meccano, which can then be dismantled and the parts used over and over again to build other things.
