Stfu, real blues guys didn’t need a debt repayed for their troubles and sorrows, that’s what brought in the bucks. The people going around saying shit like we have a debt to repay blacks are fuckin retarded. If everyone in society had to answer for the countless atrocities committed throughout history, the world as we know it would not exist. Howlin wolf died in 1976 and it was his struggle that bred the greatness. Glad he doesn’t have to see everyone walkin around talkin bout nuthin these days.
Everyone here is talking about Eamonn Walker as the Wolf. Notice the two guitar players sitting down behind him..... The man to the left wearing a hat is the REAL Hubert Sumlin. That is the Wolfs actual lead guitarist who wrote, played, and recorded the music for this song and many others for Mr. Burnett. Muddy and Wolf almost came to a killing over Mr. Sumlin when Muddy attempted stealing him from Wolf.
Hubert Sumlin was/is one of the all time great guitar players/songwriters of Urban Blues. But let's not make the mistake of thinking he wrote this song. Chester Burnett wrote this years before Sumlin joined his band and even recorded versions of it before the iconic version heard here. And believe me, they are all smokin'. Sumlin was the most in demand lead guitarist in Chicago from 1953 until Buddy Guy broke out in late 1957. At that time Sumlin, Guy. Magic Sam and Otis Rush were largely considered the guitar gods of Chicago and urban blues.
It's out there, you just won't find it in the mainstream. Seriously, could you imagine Cadillac records today? In the politically correct climate of the world? Spending more time destroying careers via a keyboard on Twitter than actually living life and finding out what they love. People have become professionals at telling others what they can't love.

That voice! THAT VOICE!!! Wolf. A voice as big as ANY. No matter how loud, or how low. His vocal chords, his eyes, body language, all of it is part and parcel to that voice. Very few singers have or had that,...that..,uh, .....gravitus. That weightiness in their singing. Few have even come close. WOLF!!! Howlin' MF Wolf is one for the ages. Though Muddy ruled (the Southside of Chicago's music scene), one must give props to Mr. Chester Burnett. Ooooo Ooooo ooooo oooo!
I thought he did terrible actually. Didn't look natural at all to me. Stopped playing the harmonica too soon, didn't convince me he knew how to play at all, and he seemed a lil intense but no passion & i am missing that cause the wolf shows his passion every time he performs
Agree 100% He nailed the persona magnificently! Love Cadillac Records it credits all the Magnificent Black Musical Geniuses that both created and made possible the landscape that is American Music Today!!
We just recently were in Chicago and had the privilege of doing a 2 hour tour of Chess recording studio!! Let me tell you it is something I will never ever forget. It was exactly like we were sitting in on a recording session when the amazing woman who lead the tour, played original tracks in the original studio. WOW!! Blew me away. Checked off the bucket list Afterwards we went and visited the graves of Muddy, Lil WALTER, Howlin Wolf and Willie Dixon- all buried within an hour of the studio. What a beautiful bittersweet day never to be forgotten!! Blues lives on forever
My wife is in love with Chicago Fire so I sat down and watched it with her. The second Chief Bodin came onto scene, I was like, “oh damn, that’s Howlin Wolf from Cadillac Records!”
The blues played every Friday night at my house as the group talked, played cards, ate fried trout, bbq, potatoes, cold slaw . Drinking and dancing as the night slipped away. Three a.m. came so fast. Friday nights were the night to go to Irene's house. Those years has pass and gone.

He was a real one back in the day. He didnt take any advance payments, He stood up for his crew and put aside his differences when it came to real issues that confronted him and Muddy Waters. I enjoyed how he put some knowledge on Muddy, when it came to being financially free from debt and borrowing. 'Aint you tired of going to your daddy for money"!!! Classic movie line.

Yeah but this isn't Eamon Walker, it's Chester Burnett actually singing here. Eamon Walker did an excellent job of portraying the 'Wolf, but his singing wasn't quite right. Also Howlin' Wolf was even bigger, at least 6'3" (though google has him at 6'6" sometimes) and claimed to be "three hundred pounds of muscle and man".

Dude should’ve gotten an award from how well he played this. Aside from how well dude played howling wolf, that sister in the chair has always had me captivated. She is so beautiful and sexy
When someone makes a movie about the life of Howlin Wolf, Eamonn Walker has to be the man to play him! He totally nailed it in the movie Cadillac Records! Brilliant actor! 💖🎭
Love this man he refused to sell out. He had dignity respect and he was not scared or in fear. True definition of a king. There's some other things I would like to say that he does for me, but my ETSI/ mama raise me to be a lady 😉
Howlin Wolf was a smart man when it came to his business. He didn't believe in credit, and paid cash for everything he owned, and even provided health insurance for members of his band.
My old soul kicks in hard when I listen to this!!! I just want to jump back to the 50s and be at some juke joint dancing, sweating, and drinking whiskey
This is what I call REAL music and a real artist! Just a man, his superior voice, and his harmonica *two thumbs up*. This was one of my favorite parts in this movie. Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Little Waters along with Etta James were some powerful artists making super hits. I love blues!
Mine I played this scene over and over I love it almost as much as my husband does. We have stacks of old blues albums and 💿. Our kids and grandkids were raised on the blues.
+June Renolt .........I did a little research on ole boy and not only was he confident he was already wealthy. According to the information that I read he had like 4stacks when he left his hometown. Back during that 4gs was considered wealthy.

If I was back in the 50s-60s I would've gotten a lot of women but nowadays I just can't due to every woman I meet does not even like me because they are judgmental and get offended easily whenever I try to flirt with one. At least it works with Native chicks though.
Right now I'm sipping whiskey listening to my old howlin wolf cassette from prison that I found the other night, and the wind is howlin here let me tell you:) no going back to the penitentiary for this guy, been 10 years. I love my family too much. Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow folks 😊
Dam it I love this song!!..and spoonful..howlin wolf was the dam man...Does anyone else here just have to hear one or two chords of a great blues song and it makes you stop and turn your head like you just really got to hear real dam music for the first time ever..lol...
I love this Big Black Smokey Guy--LOVE HIM and that song! My Daddy raised me on the blues and he knew Muddy Waters, Howlin Wolf and all of 'em personally!!! OOOoooooooooooooooooohhhh!
Lawd that voice!! First time ever hearing it was two weeks ago here on You Tube when I watched a video of Howlin Wolf perform this song live. His voice had me at " Ahhhooooo." Woosah!!
This dude should have won an Oscar for playing howling wolf
No doubt...he nailed it !
He soo fine!! When he hit that, "Oooo!"
