  • Watch me felt a Mizutsune! This guy was a commission and took a heck of a long time to make. The footage for the video was over 45 hours long and I didn't even record every bit of it! Mizu's my favorite from monster hunter so I can't complain about having to make him again!
This is my first fully edited and voiced video i've made so I hope I did a good job! I know some parts were really blurry or the whites were really bright, I don't have the best camera in the world and it doesn't know how to focus sometimes (much like me). Please let me know how I did, I'd love to hear feedback!

When you over felt a portion, this can be resolved by a technique i saw in another video. This has been my problem as well. Add smaller pieces of wool to the project at a time, the way a sculptor of clay would work. This is best used on the parts like the head. I saw them always fold a piece of wool in half and use the folded edge as a leading side of a muscle or the forehead of the dragon. Pretend that you are using clay instead of wool. Just add each of the smaller pieces of wool with less felting and then when you have finish the basic shape, you can go over the entire piece with the needle and it all just shrinks down. I love this dragon and want to make one!

Never knew these took so long to make damn, that was just amazing to watch. Mizutsune is imo the best monster they ever made and this sculpture just matches it perfectly :D

Very inspiring! Genious to add the legs like that, I have always incorporated them into the "skeleton" but this is much better. I actually made a base yesterday for a long, thin monster, and then I saw this - I will let myself be inspired by it! Many thanks!

Thank you! Yeah i find making the whole skeleton connected really limits your felting mobility around the figure. Trying to felt the armpits when there's all that wire in there is a nightmare!

What a work of art! Just a beautiful beast and a well-done video. I just wish there were a wide shot to see it in its entirety from head to tail.
