They use CX foam instead of the normal EVA in the older version, hence why it's called that

Correct. But you see, the thing is, Converse gives names to its recent shoes that barely stick to memory, especially for the average consumer. They’re long, and quite repetitive. They should drop the “All Star BB” name and just give singular names to their shoes, especially if they plan to go for a series, like the Hyperdunk. That name really stuck. It’s a single, compressed word, and it worked.
