    After watching about 20 videos on these techniques this is the one that finally made me able to produce the sounds and understand what the different techniques produce.

    Thanks for going the extra mile to explain this hard subject in an empirical level by categorizing everything into steps and adding actual data into it.
    There are a lot to discover inside. For example adding the less known throat singing into the mixture which is another step in this field. (I am a throat singer as well)

    Thanks a lot for this lecture! Especially for the visual demonstration of the vocal chords work and the great cases to find the correct sound.

    I can make a distortion that is pretty uncomfortable and painful, and that seems to be the default way I use my voice like the location. Cuz I can feel the difference when I do the throat clear in certain ways, and I can feel it go back to the unhealthy spot when I try to actually use it open mouth. Idk, I'll keep at it. This is cool.

      You can try doing it a tiny bit painfully with a lot of energy just to get the sound right and to feel where the vibration comes from, then back off, have a cough drop, and try to get that part vibrating again with less work and less tension so that it doesn't hurt anymore.

    I can do the arytenoid rattle but can’t seemed to tilt the epiglottis to get the growl…

    Does the app include exercises, like scales, to use these modes and effects on?

    Thanks for sharing. I often use the latest grunt technique. The problem is, sometimes it just doesn´t work. I don´t know how much it´s related to sleep but I've often heard that too little sleep negatively affects the voice. Why is that?

    • @grezisekr5403
      @grezisekr5403 5 років тому +1

      because if you sleep less you are tired :P

    How would you tell that the primary source of rattle or growl are the cartillages? They are vibrating a lot, but it's hard to imagine that they are the primary source of the sound, as I cannot imagine that their frequencies can be tuned.

      Fid Rewe Well, there are a lot of interesting observations in regards to the production of Rattle in the vocal tract. The vocal cords are vibrating underneath (pitch) and a lot of things happening above (all observations sighted are listed in the presentation) but the primary, and most obvious part, is the vibration of the Arytenoid cartilages, making for the rolling sound of the effect.

    Only problem is, you can always tell it is a technique. Listen to Mariah Carey, Mary J Blige or black gospel artists, when they growl and squall it sounds natural, like part of their voice. It doesn’t sound like they put an effect on their voice, it sounds organic

    Nah it’s impossible to be quiet doing grunt, you gotta have enough air in order for all those tissues to start vibration
