Hostage stories can be really horrible. It's not surprising that they are used so often in various films, it's a good way to keep the audience on edge. But that can happen not only on the big screens. Sometimes normal people can become victims of criminals and their last hope is waiting for a miracle. And asking for help in such a way that the aggressor won't be aware of it. It's much harder than it looks, but our today's heroes can say that luck was on their side. Now, first things first. *** / @incredible-qq2zi SLICED ► goo.su/v3QLR

Me and my sister were going for a night walk randomly for the first time in years. We saw a little girl walking out of her house looking scared, she walked by the mailbox and dropped a piece of paper on the footpath. Suddenly her dad came out and told her to get back inside. I slowly picked up the note and it said 'call the police pls' as soon as i read the note the dad came out of the house and started yelling at us we sprinted into the bush and called the police. We were so scared. The police showed up really fast. As soon as they got there the mother started to scream in pain. One of the most unexpected nights of my life. It was so weird that the one night we decided to go for a walk, someone was being held hostage and getting beaten up. That little girl giving us that note, saved her mum from almost being beaten to death by her ex husband.

I recall years ago reading a story on Reddit about a woman who was held hostage by human traffickers. She didn’t have a TV but the room that she was kept in had a cable outlet. She used a fingernail to unscrew the cover plate and kept shorting the cable wires out for a few minutes at a time. She did this for hours. The node on the street that manages all the cable lines on the street kept tripping out and reseting. The cable company showed up to fix the node and isolated the problem to the house she was held in. When the cable man went to the door to do an on site check the man in charge of the hostages was verbally combative. When the cable guy told him that he was going to have to disconnect the houses cable unless he let him in the man threatened the cable guy. The cable guy called the cops. The cops arrested the man and searched the house. The cops freed 7 women that day from that house. As it turns out, if you are out of options, mess with the cable or phone lines. The cable and phone companies will FIND YOU. I also recall reading another story written on the same page about a woman in a similar hostage situation. She pulled off the smoke detector and shorted the red wire to the black wire behind it. This set off every hardwired smoke detector in the house in a way that you could not turn them off without disconnecting them and pulling the backup batteries. The neighbors hearing the smoke detectors going off for over 20 minutes called the fire department. When the fire department came they saw a pile of smashed smoke detectors on the porch and insisted on doing a walkthrough. They found her unconscious as her captor had retaliated against her for setting them off. Apparently the man responsible tripped and face planted in the driveway cracking open his forehead and damaging his spine in the process before the police showed up. No one believed the man when he said in court that a firefighter grabbed him by the hair and whipped him face first into the pavement.

There was once a woman in the US who I think found someone had broken in her house while she was in. Or was standing outside. So she called 911 and pretended to order pizza. The woman who answered from the PD centre asked her If she knew she called the police and the victim said yes. Then the policeman was smart enough and said things like "say u want pepperoni if the man is inside the house unarmed or salami is he armed". Something like that. This kept going and she gave a few more details before.police soon dispatched to the area. After that, I heard many policemen and policewomen were trained to handle such calls

I was in a violent relationship. So obviously there were strange noises and screams coming from my house many times. One time while my ex husband was trying to kill me I screamed my neighbours name and screamed help until I was knocked out. I'd known she was in as we had very thin walls and had heard her earlier in the evening. Unfortunately my neighbour didn't contact the police, resulting in me and my puppy being attacked. Luckily I managed to hide my phone and when I gained consciousness (one of my other dogs was trying to revive me by licking my mouth, which my ex made fun of) i managed to block the door and call the police. My neighbour never looked at me again, avoided me when we were out, I'd lived next to her for 4 years. If you ever hear someone screaming for their life please call the police, they won't say who called, and if it was a false alarm there is no harm done but the worst thing you can do is nothing. I'd never screamed her name before, I'd never screamed for help before so It wasn't like the norm. This was over 10 years ago. I can totally understand the fear of getting personally involved in something but she could have just got me help.

I was once held hostage by my ex-boyfriend. He was insanly jealous, always believing I was cheating on him and didn't allow me to speak to any males. (he was the one cheating and lying) One day, he wanted to check my phone and I wouldn't let him (this was before screen locks 😅) first he locked me in the house and later in a room with him and mentally tortured me. At one point, after I don't know how long, I banged my head against a door I sat up against several times and fell to the ground. I was still conscious but pretended to be blacked out, and instead of helping me, he took my phone, unlocked the door and went to hide it. Then came back, locked the door again and then came to check on me. This just came to my mind watching this. He was definitely a psychopath. I was with him for 5 years from I was 16 to 21. I still can't believe I was in such an abusive relationship 😯

I remember my aunt was in a very bad relationship and she was trapped in the house with her (at the time) 3 year old son. She called the cops and 'ordered a pizza' She was able to hide my cousin so he wouldn't get hit. She opened the door with a gun to her back and the police quickly backed away, acting as if they were about to drop the pizza. She stepped away to grab money and the police rushed in, taking the boyfriend/husband to prison

Every victim is brave but not everyone gives a shit to help them. I had an experience when I was 17 and I was yelling constantly for 10 minutes in a very populated neighborhood. Nobody got out. I had a knife in my throat and his hand on my mouth. But I managed to scream. After a while I fell on the street and I thought that it was over. I was so fortunate that the guy left because he was scared. I literally have no idea how I managed to go home. After that experience every time I hear a scream I'm alarmed. Some times it's false alarm. Teenage girls scream for fun(parents have to explain why they shouldn't). But you never know.
People have to be alert every time. It could be nothing but you will NEVER regret it. Take it from someone who dealt with an attempt of rape.
I'm so happy for these people.

40 yrs (I was 16 yrs old ) ago my sis and I made a plan for me to help her if her ex broke into her house to hurt hurt her. Her ex was abusive & that’s why she was divorcing him.
I was living within eyeshot of her place. The plan was I would keep an eye on her place at night & if I saw her porch light flicker then I would call the police. Every night I watched her house until I couldn’t anymore. Less than a week I was watching & I saw her porch light come on then instantly off. I called the police & when they arrived they heard her screaming rape. The cops kicked down the door & they arrested him.
At the time I didn’t realize exactly how important what I did was being the fact that I was a victim of sexual & physical abuse & nobody was saving me. I loved my sis & I did what came natural. We just talked about what I did to save her & she told me that she was shocked that a young girl would dedicate their time to make sure that she didn’t get hurt and she thanked me.

Regarding the 'Message in a Bottle" story, I have a friend who was a fisherman off of the eastern seaboard, he said that over the years he has found many messages in a bottle in his nets from all over the world, some years old and faded, others fairly new. Many are just a friendly "Hello" from far away. The N. Sparks book and movie "Message in a Bottle" lead to his noticing an increase in messages he would find in his nets, many being from the USA. While this is a very cool and rare thing in the scheme of things, I wouldn't recommend doing this as glass bottles often are swept ashore, break and people, and wildlife can cut their feet. Plastic ones, add to the pollution of the oceans.

I know the note in the bathroom, but i think a crew member put a note inside and question the girl if she is ok or not. I saw it in bright side

There was a story in 2019 of a supermarket in the UK. A 6 year old girl found a letter inside a Christmas card saying the workers were being forced to make them.. Against it was from a Chinese prison.

We have specific training to spot traffic victims at the hotel where I work the front desk. One of my co-workers incorrectly reported that a woman was being trafficked and called the police.
When I showed up to work she informed the police and they knocked at their room but they had left the property for a while. The police asked me to call them back if they return and I see the signs of her being trafficked.
The couple returned and I non chalantly stopped them and spoke with them. I also had my security guard greet them at the door to see their reaction. It was obviously not a trafficking case as the women was relaxed and nice as was her boyfriend. She also came down to the front desk multiple times to buy things from the sweet shop on her own without being in his presence.
My coworkers has a tend to judge people based on her own distorted perspective. All because at check in the man was holding onto the woman's ID and credit card and the woman wasn't talking to my coworker loudly or making eye contact lmao. She wasn't making eye contact or talking to you because you're annoying and have an anal attitude about everything.
    On a separate occasion...
My co-worker almost got me in trouble in the past when she was working at a different hotel down the street about a year ago. I checked into her hotel to help a friend who was going through a hard time. Apparently I was acting sketchy because I had my hood on my hoodie over my head and wore sun glasses at check in and the person I was with was drunk. So she emailed my gm and agm and informed them that she believed I may have been doing drugs or other illegal things at the hotel while booked under the employee Hilton $35 rate. This girl is insane.....Anyway rant over lol.
But yes it is good that they train us to spot trafficking cases because it does happen all too often in the world these days.

So what exactly are the signs that someone is being trafficked?

    • @Gdub33
      @Gdub33 Рік тому +2

@@vxy357 I now work in real estate. But yeah the signs were:
      Odd interactions
Men at the desk who would not let the women speak at all even though we would try to speak directly to them.
Women with bruises or looked terrified
Odd reservations (wanting to pay in cash, not wanting to present ID, presenting the females ID while not allowing her to talk if the reservation was in her name).
Multiple reservations where a suspicious man checks in multiple rooms.
Yeah there were really just lot of different things to look out for.
Basically....honestly.....we were trained to judge you when you come to check in. I know a methead 20 miles away, can also spot abusive relationships just as easily. But when someone is being trafficked the atmosphere is different and alarming. I'm pretty sure anyone in that position would notice.

I remember this one where this lady was kidnapped or heal hostage, the told who I remember being her ex that her cat was sick, they went to the vet and she went to the restroom and told some staff of the situation. Everything was fine and the cat wasn’t sick
