Hi Harry, great setup and love the way you think. I always get odd looks from car sales persons when checking out prospective purchases. First thing I do is to flip down the rear seat and lie down in the back to see if I can use the vehicle as an emergency shelter and as a roadside doss. Thanks for sharing. ATB, Dave
Ha ha, me too Dave, we are all an excentric bunch. Have been looking at some really affordable smart looking camper vans on Facebook Edinburgh market place from £200 - 5000, but they seem to good to be true, probably scammed, a dealership camper is however out of my range so a napping mpv will be on the cards in the future. Atb. Harry
Go for it someday. Would love to put tractor tyres on it and vynal wrap in in green due to its cheap running costs. Anyway, a land rover freelander 2, at 50mpg would be good. Say stealthy, Harry....out
I made do with a 1983 VW golf diesel for two weeks camping. I removed the passenger seat, built a small platform in its place, and used the space as a bed for a long camping trip in Yellowstone NP and NW Wyoming. I had a great time. Nice vehicle - your optimism is inspiring..
Hi Harry, good to see you out and about. You can get tents that are designed to fit on the back of cars, I only learned this last night after watching a video from Kent Survival, so no great wisdom on my part. A quick look around the internet and for 60 quid give or take.... Bob's your auntie's live in lover ! Instant car tent ! Take care mate.
😂😄😆That's brilliant heads up, ill keep it in mind, although I'm likely to use the sleeper car only for stealth napping when traveling. Brilliant to know I have options. Cheers. Harry
Wow interesting I've got a Ford c max Oyster outside had its years with plans to use it like this but with work commitments never got round to it .Well I'm a non working free man now so you've re kindled some dreams .So time to get some planning done .Thanks Harry keep well Kev
Good choice harry, my only regret was selling my C4 Picasso, that was before i thought about car camping, now i just use my Honda jazz, with a flat floor there is surprisingly enough room for me to stretch out.
Thanks Paul, if it passes it mot in January I'll keep it going as long as possible and save the cash flow for better things. All the best to and hope to see you out and about over winter. Stay well safe and vigilant. Harry
Great. Very light on fuel and uk road tax. Driver doors can clunk a little but seldom an issue. Hard drive weekly keeps deisil injection clean. 💉 Best old car I've owned for a while. Of course every car has its weaknesses.
Good little cars, I have citroen xsara picasso, bought for £100, eight years ago .. Brilliant all rounder.... With 223k on clock I would buy another.. Good cars.
Looking at these with view to some car camping. This was just the info I needed so thank you! I'd been wondering how people sleep in such a short space... feet through the middle gap then! 👍😄
Yes indeed, cosy socs on and feet into the gap, the priority is a comfy mat so I've ordered a £12 two pack of 95 cm child air beds from amazon in order to trial an easy fit base, failing this I'll concuder an £85 foam base. Trying to find a small compact system that packs easily behind passenger seat when not in use. A work in progress and of course a memory pillow from Sainsbury's might be found. Harry 👍
@@FlyingHaggisFilms Thanks for the info! Will ask at garage if I can lay down in it just to check how it feels. Looks so short from outside! Annoying I'm so long 😅 Good luck with sorting out a comfy mattress.
Sandy looks taller than he is, after spending time with him, I can say he is not as tall as I am, but yes, you can make just about anything into a camping car. I hope this proves to be kind to you Harry, be well
I think you got one over on the security officer. What was the mattress you used Harry? I am 5ft 10 tall, probably look taller on video :) Sorry you had some losses from dodgy car dealers Sandy
Hi Sandy, the mat was from lidle thin, firm, easy and quick to fold behind front passenger chair out of sight, under mat I used an army cadet self inflating mat also compact and quick to instal, comfort good on hips and back surprisingly. It's just comforting to know I can pull over any time anywhere for a 55min nap. Brilliant. Happy days. Harry

Good to see you back Harry
Thanks Paul. Every surviving dog has its day. Keep going yourself. Stay safe and well. 😅
I’ve just sold my 2013 Lexus ct200h and got a 2008 Volvo XC70. Perfect for this.
Need the rears limo tinted
Well done on the C3 Picasso urban camper.
Thanks Michael. It's such fun to create options for we never know when the option and requirement of a quick sleep might present itself. 🤣
Just buying one of these so nice idea!!
