- Have you ever wondered what work gets done on Mat Armstrong's cars whilst at the paint shop? Or more generally wondered what is involved in a full colour change repaint? We decided to put together a step by step of how we changed the colour on @matarmstongbmx Gallardo that he had a little incident in back in April 2024.
The guys at the Machine Shop had done a great job of repairing the metal work on the car, which left us with just a few repairs to finish off. We then used an epoxy based polyester 'superbuild' primer, followed by a 2K black high build primer. With the rest of the car previously covered in PPF, and the factory paint in good condition, we then had to prep the full car for paint.
Once painted and polished, the car went back to Mat and the team to rebuild, with some added carbon parts and a new set of rims. The finished result looks incredible and you can catch it, along with its first road trip in this colour, on Mat's main channel.
If you find what we do interesting hit the like and subscribe and we will endeavour to do some more in depth repair videos in the future!
Wow beautiful 😍 much love from Namibia 🇳🇦, Africa…you just got yourself a new subscriber 😅I’m coming from Mat’s channel, big fan
I’m a sucker for green cars and bronze wheels man. So nice.
If it were my car… the wheels would have stayed bronze! But can’t deny when I saw it all finished with the silver wheels I thought it looked 👌🏼👌🏼
Great job guys!
Wonderful job as always ! I’d love to have my own little project completed with you guys, I’ve sent over an email in regards to an old Astra eagerly awaiting on your response look forward to hearing from you guys ! Keep up the great work, never my forte bodywork but can certainly appreciate 👍🏼
Wow, so high quality & cinematic. I believe this channel will grow exponentially. Maybe add some voice over / text overlay to give us more context (?)
Appreciate your feedback, perhaps this is something we can look into if people have interest!
