Question: the guys obviously a semi decent player....so why does he not just resign at the end? All forced moves, all leading to mate. Easy to see. But he only resigns at the very end of the line. Why?

If Nxe4 I see Qe3. If Bf5 to defend there is Nxf5, Qxf5, Nc6+ with a fork on the rook. That is one concrete line. If Nxe4, Qe3, f5, I don't see anything definitive at the moment. But white does have a gigantic amount of pressure and initiative.
