I feel kinda honored that youtube decided to grace my feed with new Nadia music 😳 i just woke up with The Way it Goes on my brain… this is a good way to start any morning. One of the most beautiful voices, & songwriters, I’ve ever heard. And I happen to have great taste if i do say so myself, Eva Cassidy is in that category.
This song has been piercing my soul for the last week. Something about it makes me cry every time. I am struggling to come up with what I think the message may be exactly though. Does anyone feel like sharing their insight?

Seems like the story is them having to wait for a train, but while they wait, they take in the beauty, but the mom looks nervous, sad, and scared at times, so i wonder if shes running with her daughter from an abusive relationship that now the daughter has become part of, and its finally within her to leave, and leave with nothing but the clothes on their back. Its the ending thaf got me, when you see the daughter being so innocent by drawing on the window, and just putting her head on her mom as that's her safety in the world. The mother looks kinda panicked, like things might be stopped and when they got to a certain point, she started to cry from feeling all that negativity and fear just rush out of her, and its her freedom from everything that makes her cry well, but most of all, the hope that her daughter will grow up in a house filled with love and no violence. That may be wrong but thats what im seeing it as.
