To Lyte & Latifah on behalf of all the brothas we wholeheartedly want to say thank you for telling us you still believe in US!!! & Love ❤️ us without trying to humiliate us !!! All of us LOVE you back !! Peace ✌🏾 & Blessings ❤
Two of the GREATEST female MCs to EVER pick up a microphone big upping the culture with positivity, no one is twerking, no one is half naked, no one is talking about their WAP. They are talking about seeing their people.. Will it get played on radio?? Will it get the light it deserves?? I will make sure I show case it on my page. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Respect Lyte, Respect Latifah!!! Thank You!!!
Thank you! Glad you like it!Call your radio statiion and ask for them to play it. I think as long as it's streamed and the real fans have access, that's most important.
This track makes me emotional every time I hear it. I truly appreciate this tribute song to the brothers. We really needed this. Thank you Lyte and Latifah!
❤🎉 Thank you beautiful Queens like MC Lyte, Queen Latifah, and the other queens in this video of love. This reminds me of a similar positive message by Angie Stone, Eve, and Alicia Keys. God bless you all.
It's so rare to hear positive words for black men. I love it. And something about a Black woman saying "We need you..." ❤. That's not something many of us hear oft3n.
Finally. Someone recognizes the need for us to hear something great about us to remind us that we are Kings and not failures. I salute these Queens. Chedda Hound
Uhh! See... you can create a positive track that uplifts without breaking down. No dissing no cussing no gratifying death drugs or thuggin. Just positive loving talent. Salute to MC LYTE! A true Queen of hip hop!
Thank you Ms. Lyte - I love the lyrics and the meaning of King King. This song is FIRE! you and the Queen roasted this one! The sounds of the heavy beats are so powerful! I love the entire new CD. I also love the song 1-5. The flow and the beats are insane. I ride to work on these two tracks everyday nodding my head to the heavy beats ! What a blessing we still have you around! no one does it like you! Wishing you all of the best! You deserve the best!
Ole' Skool. Real hip-hop relevant storytelling. Queens are still smooth and cool, as always while raising up our Kings. Though much was stolen, the throne was never relinquished because African Americans are the jewels of The Most High. Precious beyond comprehension except for our African brothers and sisters and our tribal roots while our Ancestors hold us up through our bloodlines.
0:49 for those that don’t know, this brother is Wendell Scott, The first black man to race in NASCAR. Richard Pryor made a movie, loosely based on his life in the 70s called, Greased Lightning… Be sure to check it out.
In a time where the men are looked down upon bcuz they don’t make 6 figures or they’re not hustling or ballin out, this is definitely needed. To Lyte and Queen….THANK YOU!!! #realhiphop
Thank The All for these two. never not once publicly has Queen Latifah ever not deserved and served her name. And Lyte, she don't just shine because of her name. A Light. Has always been. Thank you both. ❤❤🙏🏽 July08.2024
Let’s run this up to a trillion views.. MC Lyte has always embodied the spirit of a true poet & Queen. Went to Irvington High with Dana aka Latifah & already knew she was going to be a great MCee.. Peace and blessings.. 💯 🫡
This positivity is refreshing. It's been a while since I listened to female rap without being embarrassed. I almost forgot that I grew up on Hiphop until Gangsta Rap ruined it for me. Latifah, Monie, Lyte, Yoyo, Heavy D, Redhead, Kid'n Play , Rakim etc. I remember how hiphop peaked when men, women, straight, gay and kids came together to dance to Hiphouse! That movement was fire. Lyte's" Ice cream Dream," Jody Watley's "Friends" video, Monie Love's "Ring My Bell " and only a few other projects embody that great period in Hiphop. This is how I want to remember rap in my mind - forever.
This song is tight and right. The words and the beat stay with you long after the song ends. It's an "ANTHEM" for our Black men. I expect it to blow up. Congrats to these two strong and talented women. Also, congrats to Keith O'Derek. He did his thing. His direction and imaginative camera lens with all that Black history will make this song timeless and one to remember. 👏🏾
Hey Lyte, I don’t have a lot of regrets, but one of my biggest regrets is missing you when you came to Germany back in ‘97. You came to a little army post called Fleiglehurse Kacern to a club called the Modenaire. I was too drunk and missed the entire show. And the meet and greet. Still kicking myself over that.
Nooo; woman no cry and as a Hebrew man; I 👁️ya my beautiful O' daughters of Zion... Just remember 2 stay on point and stand strong bcuz we're almost outta here... Word Up!!! 🛸🪨🛸
This should have 1million plus likes. MC Lyte sees that we, black men, are self destructing and is reminding us that we are Kings and need to act like Kings.
THIS!! Such heartfelt lyrics! A sentiment I don't think I've ever heard in a rap song quite this way. In my mind, this is a Mom rapping to her son! I love it. It makes me think of my Mom, whom I've lost. And when Queen comes in on that hook. It's pure dynamite! This soars. This should be a #1 hit. For real. Why is this song hiding? So sad. More people need to hear this. This is wonderful song. Props!!! Classic.
The R&B Money Podcast sent me! Thank you Lyte for always rapping about loving our black men!🫶🏾
Same here
As a black man, I appreciate this joint a lot. Thanks for showing us so much love.
