We will be co-hosting a fun meet up/swap/sale on Saturday May 13th 2023, everyone is welcome to bring 1 Short Box to sell or trade, open door policy! We hope you can all make it out it is going to be a lot of fun.
We will be bringing some books to sell from the collections we've picked up over the years to share with all of you!

No FCBD for me. Can't support an LCS that 1. has back stock closed to the public. 2. Prices at the counter. 3. Seems to be a "bother" when you ask THEM to go look at that back stock for you. 😒

I got all 45 comics this year at one comic book store and went to another comic book store. 2 comic book artists were signing the Free Comic Book Day covers and it was no line. The artists signed the comics for free and you got one of the comics.
That was crazy.
Really cool videos! I just started collecting again after many years. I found a Wolverine #8, Uncanny xmen 221 and Venom "Lethal Protector" (1991) on free day for really cheap.

Our comic book store had free books with no required purchases of getting them... but how they did it was in blind bags of 2 different colors. Blue bag was teens+ and green bag was the pre-teens. Unfortunately i can only choose 1 colored bag. Should've brought my wife for the other color lol. I chose the blue which i was happy with. Oh well.. it was a fun day plus i bought a few funko pops 25% off.
My favorite book was definitely Fishflies! I absolutely adore Lemire. Baffles me you guys skipped out on that, haha! Definitely should pick it up when you can. Lemire never skips a beat.

I feel lucky. My lcs had a max 5 fcbd books. When my some and I were there they told us we could take whatever we wanted as I am a regular. The limits were for those who come in only 1 x a year for free books.
Geez, seeing all the people fill the parking lot and the store is so cool! Really puts shops here in AZ to shame.

Had a 4 book limit @ my FCBD comic store even with purchase or not at least no line
Our crew was in Orlando for FCBD. Too bad we didn't see you guys. We started at Coliseum in Kissimmee. Then hit Blackbird, they were balls to the wall like ACME. We eventually hit ACME about 1:30 and it had died down by then, but still busy. Hopefully we'll catch at Brick City in July. Be well!

I got the Uncanny Avwngers free comic at my local comic shop, and a back issue. Why? Cause I’m not some free cheese rat!

Is Free comic Day why should you have to purchase something to get free books 📚😢
Yeah, I really like ACME, but I think they went about it wrong on that part. The wording of "paying customers ____" just doesn't have a good ring to it. Just place the free books in the back (they did that correctly) and make the sale very attractive. There's always going to be a bunch of freeloaders along the mix, but overall it should be a great sale day. My LCS crushed it in Tallahassee without that arbitrary "you must buy ___".
Most stores have that requirement as retailers need to purchase these - it’s an upfront cost to them
I had a wonderful time at Free comic book Day I brought $70 worth of comic books only pay 45 bucks and I got five free comic books when I walk through the door 😀 didn't have to purchase anything first I like your channel you guys spent a lot of money on comic books 📚 shouldn't have to purchase anything first
@@plawrence3833 Correct, at like .30 cents a book, a very significant discount. You're already establishing "good will" and brand awareness with the community the opportunity affords. There's no need to come off cheap or create the "must buy". Simply put, it can be "2 free books, 6 additional free books with any purchase", which alleviates the "bathroom for paying customers" type of stigma.
FCBD is never going to be perfect for everyone. But every LCS has to find some way to keep the freeloaders and internet flippers from scooping up everything in minutes.
I think you need to brush up on the math on percentages if you want to continue in the buying/selling/trading market. 40% off $210 isn't reduced to $160. Doing a deal on the spot needs a good head for figures. Just trying to help you, it's not a dig. ❤the channel.
