- Jeff discusses running line and management tips related to skagit casting for the Great Lakes. The larger diameter heads, heavier sink tips and flies need some drag on the back of the skagit head and running line management can make a huge difference in cast delivery. He shares his thoughts on the impacts of line grain, line texture, fishing season with pros and cons for different line types and demonstrates a few different methods for running line management.
this is amazing. I'm a beginner and I am casting well but the more running i try to shoot, the more awkward my casts become. This is simple and straightforward and I can't wait to get out and put this tip to work.
Use a rubber band on butt of two handed rod to pin monofilament running line against during the cast to keep the running line from slipping. Great tip.
