@@lilacfunish if I were honest, it’s a mix of both…my choices plus changes in my circumstances around me. But whatever it is, it’s made me acutely aware that I need Jesus every moment, and my life would collapse right now like a house of bricks without Him.
I love the miracle of hope and character that comes through our suffering. Christianity is not just saying no to drugs and wearing nice clothes and having nicely groomed lawns. Great point. That’s not the measure of our Christianity. Thank you.
Thank you this helped me . We have been going thru health problems . Haven’t been able to physically go to church 😂 but we stay current online and do our bible study and prayers. Trying to move forward to a better season. Miss bayside.
I have been battling cancer for the last 18 years and is has been tough. However, I continue to put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as I have seen His fingerprints on my journey all along the way and I have seen how He has used my suffering to position me so that I can offer encouragement to others who are also in a cancer battle. I am so hopeful that God continues to use me to help others who are in the middle of their battles and are losing hope.
In Christianity, Suffering is a product of the fall, a consequence of human sin against God (Romans 5:12; 1 Corinthians 15:21). Suffering is in our lives because we are living in a broken world. Some suffering is due to our sinful and wrong choices, but some is due simply to the world being fallen.
Suffering. As He did. Why would we expect to not experience the same? Are we more special than the Son? Romans 8:28-30, predestined, as His, to be comformed to His image. And what is that image? The Suffering Servant. He endured, so must we. He wishes to use ALL our circumstances for His glory.
@@JayAAllen very true, all of it! But there are times when we can feel that suffering much more acutely than others. I’m going through one of those times right now. 😢
@jeffbowen2608 this time of year is tough for many. I know for certain it's not a time to isolate - that is one of the key tactics the accuser will deploy. If you are a Bayside Granite Bay dude, even though Men's Monday may be taking a break until 13 January, there's still plenty of help at Bayside Counseling and simply being in community. As retired military, I know none of us can go it alone - easy target for the prince of this air and our own negative thoughts.
@JayAAllen good words, brother. When my wife & I were separated for a time in 2022, after I sought out every Scripture on marriage & got down prostrate before the Lord, the first thing the Spirit said to me was to get my close community around me. That helped me greatly & gave me great comfort until my wife came back. Your words reaffirm that heavenly wisdom. Bayside GB is awesome of course, but I also have others in the family of God beyond Bayside that I plan on reaching out to soon as well.
I needed this. Thank you for helping remember that there is reason to hope.
Thank you Pastor Andrew. I’ve been suffering & been crying out to God, even this morning. This message was just what I needed.
Examine your suffering is it from your choices or broken world?

Currently persevering, thank you for reminding me that if I made it here, that means I made it through the suffering.

Thank you Andrew. I need the reminder.

Thank you, Andrew, for the reminder. Accepting Christ doesn't mean a life without trial. But a Savior to bring me through. ❣️🙏🏾
Amen❣️
