"Before my kids, I looked a lot like you Chris"
"I am very sad please stop talking"
makes me laugh so hard every time
6:57. I had to do it for Carol from H.R.
So unexpected to call nipples boob hats lol
Chris's "sadness" is no excuse for him to shoot down Jerry like that - after all, he used to date his daughter, and I bet Jerry would have loved to have Chris as a son-in-law
@@ethanshepherd4963I guess he was overwhelmed with sadness 😂
Chris has to be one of the best depiction of depression on TV. He doesn't get depressed during the show, he already was when he arrived in Pawnee, and it took him years of realization, support from his friends, and work, to get his head out of the water.
Was he? What am I missing?
"if i keep my body moving, and my mind occupied at all times, i will avoid falling into a bottomless pit of despair"
i dont know what you're missing mate
@@jerec1267 That was waayyy after he arrived in pawnee. The comment mentioned him being depressed before arriving to pawnee
What?! He was depressed..... I’m on season 4 and he just seems really energetic and motivated.
@@tasha1357 I have no idea what these people are talking about I honestly doubt he was depressed in season 4
Chris: LESLIE AND BEN ARE ENGAGED!!!
Andy: *Gasp Again!?
Really kills every time

i love that one
And then Andy was just as excited as the first time 😂
This character is really relatable, his desire to be happy his struggle with anxiety and depression his outlook on life his positivity his mask it’s like an exaggerated mirror for me
@@wbwbc89 I think he was being real, how is this cringe talking about depression , it’s pretty obvious he was faking the whole enthusiasm most times to mask sorrow
@@wbwbc89 just in, depression is cringe
Are you seriously saying that depression and anxiety can’t be real😂😂
@@anonymously8711 no but it’s not that deep it’s just a show

The video isn't titled "Literally the Best of Chris Traeger" and I'm actually kind of angry at the missed opportunity here.
That would literally be the best idea ever.
this is literally the greatest american tragedy
Atanas Kirov This comment literally made my day
To that may I add; you guessed it; literally!
I literally think I just soiled myself....,
Chris was a weirdo when he was first introduced, but of course you grow to love that insanely healthy goofball. He’s one of my favourites.
Akshaya Ananth I sometimes have a hard time believing people don’t like Chris
eleanor shellstrop did you know that you were in the bad place but got put back on earth?
Chris was a jerk in the first season. He supposed to be. He was meant to only be in first season.
Hashim Khan it’s been a tiring journey!
James Smith Oh yeah, Andy was a total douche on season 1.
Hated how he used Ann Perkins as his personal nurse for 2 weeks
"My anxiety has kept me up for over 50 hours "
2 days and 2 hours
Why do I feel personally attacked by that statement

It's crazy that Rob Lowe is older than Nick Offerman.......dude looks 10 years younger than his actual age
Dude seriously? That is blowing my mind
Rob is a damn vampire lol
@@karenoskkristjansdottir9979 Want something even more mind blowing? "Jerry" is LITERALLY only 2 years older than Rob Lowe!!
Wait what? People think he’s not middle aged?
@@ineedmoresleep3728 p sure it’s the fact he’s almost 60 that shocks people.
This is pretty much what my depression looks like from the outside. Cheerful, full of jokes disguising the fact I am on the edge of hysteria. It’s exhausting and really hard to turn off.
I hope you can find people who are smart and intelligent, as well as caring, with whom you don't have to forcefully put on a mask of joy. And then hopefully you'll be able to start a process of recovery.
I believe I've been through 10 years of depression, and I was incredibly fortunate that I had non judgemental, caring, and most importantly intelligent family and friends. And through some incredible luck, I managed to get cured. And thankfully without any medication. A part of me died and it is not coming back anytime soon. But I am genuinely content now without horrific periods of emptiness or sadness or whatever else my brain came up with to mess me up. I have an actual job that I can do competently too.
I'm not saying you will definitely find a cure for yourself, or saying that since I got cured, you will too, or what worked for me will work for you.
All I'm saying is that it's not impossible to be cured of depression. So do what you can, try to gather whatever tiny bits of strength you find, and try to be open minded. And remember that a "cure" need not be just one thing. It could be many things- big or small, taking place over a long time.
Hey, I know this is commented months after your original comment, but I think you should know that where ever, who ever you are, I wish you all the best and hope you receive/ received all the help you need ❤️ stay strong ❤️

I LOVE YOUR PROFILE PICTURE!!!!!!!
CASTIEL FOR LIFE!!!!!!
#casisbackintown
Knowing how he was born with a disease and wasn’t supposed to live makes so much sense for how he acts - and I love the parts when he gets nervous about being a father, and even when he called Tom son 😭
This is literally the best comment I have seen in a while. Perfectly executed.
It made me sad when he and Ann had to move away. He was a ball of sunshine!
Well she had to go write toy story 4

Same! 😄 Rob Lowe killed in this scene! This and that Therapy! Sequence just before it, hilarious! 😂
Oh God imagine Chris during COVID-19. The microchip is constantly at risk of being compromised
As someone else with health-related OCD, I agree with your statement.
I love how his depression is showed on tv, not like those other goth dark people
Really, show the other form that depression can be showed.
@@TrunksG in this form it is shown that he is in denial because he is always pretending to be happy and he once said if I stop working out I will fall into a bottomless pit of despair so he is always working out and hiding his sadness
What's wrong with goth dark people? I'm offended. 🧛♀️😅
@@1236547899874563211 There is nothing wrong with goths, I think OP meant that the depression shown on TV is often really dark and shows people all sad and unhappy on the outside whereas Chris shows another side of depression where you don't show it on the outside. I hope you understand what I mean!

Chris is too precious for this world!
I know right
My favorite is also my favorite scene in the entire series.

"The world is my gymnasium." What a beautiful message.
“Boob hats” 😂😂
😂
I have a feeling that was Rob Lowe's ad lib. Getting the "Stop. Pooping." vibe.
I go to school with a guy like him.
You'd think a human being like this couldn't possibly sustain themselves like this for six hours straight outside of a comedic television series but somehow it happens.
coul you expand please? how does he act?
"I told him that 'One Headlight' by the Wallflowers isn't dancing music and he said 'Not with that attitude'."
xD Chris' dancing is just the best
(☞゚ヮ゚)☞
Of course.
I have had the same experience Chris had at Leslie and Ben's party. Like LITERALLY the same exact experience where I cried about other people being happy and sat in the bathroom so I wouldn't ruin the mood.
A big, warm virtual hug from me🥺 hope you're doing okay now. It'll be fine❤

Chris Traeger is, literally, my favourite character of Parks and Rec!
Not just parks and rec... in tv history!
Ahh. That’s basically what I said, jaden.
Rob Lowe was terrific in this role.
This dude, with anxiety depression, and possible ADHD, is probably the most relatable to me because he masks like nobody’s business. Love him
I feel as though Chris Traeger is the Parks and Rec theme personified.
Best theme ever. So happy 😁
"My anxiety has kept me up for over 50 hours...*giggles like a girl* "
My favorite Chris Traeger moment is when he tried to use his charm on that Eagleton admin woman to get Leslie’s birth certificate.
Expected to see a flash forward in the finale where Chris is the first man to live for 200 years 🙁
I love how Rob Lowe went all in on this character as did so many of the cast of Parks and Recs.
I was dyiing earlier today... and then i died... now im ded.
I had to cancel a date with Shauna Malwae-Tweep, and I really like her. Do you think she’ll still like me....now that I’m dead?
Such a fantastic character. They take his mental health issues very seriously, especially with his personal growth, but still make him absolutely hilarious! Rob Lowe naileddddd this!
“STOP.......POOPING”
I love the way he smiles every time someone acknowledges how handsome he is. So pleased with himself
Chris is a golden retriever in human form. 🦮😂
Chris knows how to talk to people to let them hear what they want to hear. And thankfully in time, he learns how to listen to them rather than use toxic positivity to try and not show any weakness or cracks in his armor of forced optimism. It’s okay to be vulnerable; it doesn’t make you weak. If anything, pretending to be someone you’re not is what really makes you weak.
The fact that this video isn’t titled LITERALLY the best of chris traeger makes me upset
Yes
Aha yes!

The fact that this comment is LITERALLY stolen from another comment makes me upset
@@avonbarksdale3839 imagine having opinions couldn’t be me
I love how on the surface Chris is perfect but when you get to know him throughout the series, he’s just as messed up and doing everything he can to keep it together like the rest of us. He tries to force positivity in everything because if not, it causes him to admit how dark the world is. I need to be more like Chris, but I ain’t got the energy like he’s got lol
These people can't be alone because the second they are alone their performative positive energy goes and they spiral into executive dysfuntion and become paralized in panic. They only have that energy when around people feeling pressure to out perform starving for someone to give any validation they can savor and hold onto to. This kind of anxiety is not a blessing, 24/7 obsessive thoughts, its pure O OCD, you are better off staying chill, you do not want what he has trust me
The` stop pooping line` was improvsed by Rob Lowe.
7:50 😂 best look at a camera ever
😂😂😂😂
I'm just happy Rob Lowe is still finding work. Also how on Earth has he not aged a day since he played Sam Seaborn in the late 90's?
Why would he not be finding work?
He has a sex tape scandal back in the day

The scene where Chris comforts a complete stranger in the hallway should've been included in this. THAT was the best of Chris Traeger.

I just realized if it wasn’t for Chris, Leslie would’ve never met Ben…
Chris is literally one of the most important characters on the show. Beaten only by the Man’s Man’s Man, Ron Swanson.
I JUST REALIZED DONNAS USING A VIBRATOR FOR A NECK MASSAGER AT 4:55!!!
It's not a vibrator it is a massage stick. These are just used as vibrators for obvious reasons. However they are designed and originally used as massage sticks and still are.
