Thanks, Austin, for the "leg up" on learning everything about my new *superb* Boss Katana Artist MkII! With its many, many great built-in features, this amp is everything that I could ever want in an amplifier. Great channel, BTW!
I am very impressed with these. I just got a katana mkii myself! I’m adding a speaker out so I can connect to my 8ohm cabinet, which is the only thing I was bummed about.
I have a question, when you use one expression pedal to control both jacks simultaneously, are you able to toggle which one you are adjusting by hitting the shift button on the GA FC? Thank you
Can you save tones from the ga-fc ex Footswitch ? On the 50 watt mk2 ex, do I have to use a computer to save channels 3 and 4 ? Or can I do it from the Footswitch?
I've started to use my expression pedal with my GAFC pedal to control the amount of drive for the built-in boost pedal. Sounds great and gives me a lot of flexibility. HOWEVER, I cannot get these settings to save after turning off the amp (Mach 1 100 combo.). No matter what I do, when I turn the amp back up, the parameters I've set up have been zeroed out. This forces me to bring a laptop to each gig so that I can quickly re-enter the expression pedal parameters at the onset of the performance. Not convenient. Anybody have any similar issues and workarounds? Thanks!
Hello, guys. I'm a happy owner of Katana MK2 100w. Just bought an EV5 expression pedal by Roland and I'm quite upset, because 4 out of 5 times it doesn't reach the 0 value. Sometimes travels down to 1, but more often stops on 2. It's OK for a wah-wah and similar effects, but unacceptable for whammy and pitch bending fx. Could anyone give any tips or I should just return it? Playing around with the wheel on the pedal didn't do anything. Thx!
Hello. In my city I am not able to find the Boss expression pedal. In my local store they have the Electro-Harmonix dual expression pedal. Will that work with my Katana 100 Mk2? Thank you very much.
Still don't even know how my expression pedal is working with my Katana 50 MK2. Nothing is working at all. This is so frustrating. My EV-30 is plugged straight to the back. I am on the assign function and I have assigned the desired effect (wah) under pedal FX but it's not working at all
Did this magical auto volume/wah thing go away in the mk2? I have all the exact gear (GA-FC and EV-30 expression pedal) hooked up as suggested, but it only appears to work as a volume pedal, even with wah on. The only way to make the pedal control the wah level is by reassigning to FX in tone studio. Once it's set this way, it no longer works as a volume pedal even after wah is shut off. Must be missing something simple.
dunno how they've done it in that video... I wanted to change between volume pedal and "pedal wah" whenn triggering the fx button on the GAFC... but it doesn't work... only when I engage "pedal wah" in the fx section in boss tone studio and assign the exp pedal to "Fx"... but then it's always (!) assigned to "crywah" but when I turn it off, it won't work as volume pedal anymore... the function "Pedal FX/FV" doesn't work at all =/ kinda sad cause all I wanted was a wahwah by pressing the fx button on the gafc... when turned off it's a volume pedal... should be simple..... =/ gear: katana mkI 100w gafc Roland EV5

Can you use the pedal to control other effects like pitch shifting, etc?

Wow....I have the same question....you posted your question 2 years ago and no response? It's a shame no one answered your question.
Yeah, the most obvious question id absolutely like to know and.....crickets??? Wtf
Same here. Maybe it has a press-down function like a regular wah, or the built-in pedals or boss multi-effects? @@tomhathaway4941

Very interesting option. Not sure this feature can sound better than my Jerry Cantrell Dunlop wah but nice to know it’s available.
it kicks ass indeed!
Hello. What's the best way to connect a dunlop wah to the gafc? Thank you again.
Will any expression pedal work, or does it need to be a specific one
Basically any old one :)
Does this work with the Katana 50 MKII? I cannot get the volume and the pedal wah to work as described.
volume pedals can be tone suckers. I wonder in this application if they still are.?

Have you tried "writing the patch" basically saving the patch in the boss tone studio with your laptop?

Same here. I need a degree in computers to figure out tone studio assignment.

Same boat here. Did you figure it out? I can only get it to work with tone studio. Seems complicated.

I have not figured it out either.
I have the 50 MKII and the EV-30.
Any updates?
Why didn't they just make it to where you can turn wha on from pedal? I have a boss GT 10 that has that.
Not clear enough on two simulations effects
