And now I can cook as good as her cause she taught me so well from age 5 to adult hood. I still cook some of her favorite foods and remember her. Thanks grandma in heaven 🌹♥️

I love most leftovers. Especially things like chili, lasagna and sauces. Always better the next day. I also reinvent left overs. Like I make a big bag of beans and season them for corn bread and beans. The next day I turn the left over beans into chili and the third day chili becomes chili 3-way or frito chili pie.
Last night I made cheesy rice taco bowls. To night ill take the thick leftovers, add a container of chicken broth and more seasoning and we will have taco soup.

Yes, I eat leftovers all the time. Can't throw good food away. What you call English cucumbers we call telegraph cucumbers here in NZ. We hardly ever peel.them. Just wash and slice! The skins are so thin it's stupid to peel that goodness off. Like potatoes, most of the vitamins and nutrients are just under the skin, so if you peel it off you're losing all the goodness.

I have gotten in the habit from two years ago to make a meal ahead of time because I didn't have much time at night so it has been working to heat it up so I don't have to make a full meal and wait until it's done. It's just easier to heat it up and it doesn't take very long to get together and it's nice to be quick, but at least it's from scratch and not store bought which I like. I sometimes make a few dishes on Saturday or Friday so the next week has something I already have made and it's so helpful. I am cooking some chicken tenders for tonight, potatoes, and veggies, and fruit. My kids always want fruit with every meal so it's a nice dessert or something sweet they always enjoy it. Thanks for you're channel I enjoy all you share and fun family life everything is going well with us and busy of course. Thanks and keep up the great work and take care!

Yes life is very good and staying busy. I did finally organize my own closet since we have such a small home and three kids my closet has been the junk collector for awhile so I will probably have to clean it up every day or two days so it doesn't have to get so cluttered. My dishes need to be done that way too since I wait till I run out of forks and plates and say oh I guess I need to wash dishes so I will try to wash them in the morning and after supper so they will be washed at least once a day and it won't take too long to get it done. I run my dishwasher once every three days right before I head to bed, but washing them is the hardest part for me. I love to come into the kitchen and my sink is clean though. Otherwise we are doing great and are you guys doing well? You said you had this thing going around? Thanks and take care!

I drink chamomile or melissa tea before bed. Linden flower tea with a bit of honey is my favorite though. Don't ever drink it before going outside, only before bed because you might catch a cold since it promotes sweating. It's mostly a cold remedy tea but I still like it for the taste. Sea buckthorn is also an option you could try but I am not sure if it's good before bed or not. Also sorry for the very late reply.

Yes love leftovers but I don't just reheat the same thing. If I'm making another dinner I'll do a total new meal. Example would be rotisserie checken with veggies and use the extra chicken ( that i planned for) and make chicken enchiladas. Stuffed peppers make a great next day skillet dinner or soup. Just a couple ideas.

I love leftovers. Especially meatloaf leftover turkey and ham for sandwiches chili and soups ie. Cream of potato with chives is Def. Better nx day. Leftovers save money. I used to work with a sales crew. They would order or go out for lunch I would warm up my )eftovers and not spend 12 to $15 , for lunch. They often would want to taste my lunch or offer me a trade. I would lUgh when they were almost broke before payday. Well yeah that lunch money spent adds up.

I meal prep on Sundays and barely have to cook throughout the week! I make everything ahead of time. This week it is - scramble with mushrooms and spinach, couscous with roasted chickpeas zucchini and tomatoes, rice/broccoli/tofu/chickpea/sweet potato bowls, chili and then some other quick things like peanut butter banana toast that takes a few minutes day of. Because I cook it all at once I’m in the kitchen less than two hours and then it is all done for the week!

I love leftover I person make extra leftovers to freeze for future meals. I also love to reinvent leftover ie pasta with a homemade bolognese sauce becomes a creamy tomato pasta bake, leftover onion gravy from a roast becomes creamy gravy to go over swedish meatballs, leftover rice becomes fried rice, leftover fish becomes fish cakes ect.
I love to cook once knowing this meal can be streched out to make several meals. It save me time, money and the fact I'm taking something that more than likely would be thrown out in a week and turning it into a nutritious filling meal for my family.

My favorite tea is Celestial honey vanilla chamomile. It relaxes me and it's herbal.
I like to go out to eat on Valentine's Day however I have a low white blood cell count. Staying close to home. Omnicron is crazy here in Central Florida and there is now a variant of the omnicron. Don't know what it's called. The new variety
Anyways this year I am making homemade noodles with chicken in them. Mashed potatoes and corn casserole. And I am making homemade Buckeyes so I have some candy for Valentine's Day. If you freeze fresh strawberries you need to add sugar. Not my favorite as a stand alone, but great to add to mixed fruit smoothies, oatmeal, or baking where you add sugar anyways.

I'm surprised that the shelves aren't stocked overnight. In the country I live in (NZ) the supermarket that I go to (I also worked at the same supermarket after school many years ago) gets stocked in an evening/overnight shift. Food is so much more expensive here and the variety you can get would mean that I'd spend most of the day shopping. X

My husband and I do leftovers...me more so than him. It can be difficult cooking for just two. When I make chili, or something like that, I freeze half of it. That way in a few weeks I have a ready to go meal and my husband doesn't feel like he is eating leftovers!! Win Win for me. 😁
Have a safe, fun, warm weekend.

As far as leftovers it depends what it is. If its homemade soup yes because soup tastes better leftover. Enjoyed the haul. We had ice and it will take a few days to melt. The dill pickle salad is great i buy it for us.

Soups Thanksgiving even a great meatloaf. spaghetti to homemade sauce kind .. those are the only things.. 3) have you tryed macadamia milk I have celiac and dairy all my life.. amazing .
4th if you love not so much spice here’s and like soup ideas here’s a great idea. Make a Porkloin roast cook in crockpot pot start at night morning will fall off the bone. 2) 8 oz green chilis 1 med onion chopped 2 cloves garlic 🧄 chopped sauté with butter salt pepper . cut up roasting to chucks put Garlic onion chilis in the roast add 1 can of 8 oz diced tomatoes 1tea spoon of chili 1/2 teaspoon of cumin 1 small can of Enchilada sause 1 family size of Cream of chicken soup . cook to simmer can use for smothered burritos. or dunk with tortillas. or just as a soup with cheese sour cream salsa ..
the roast i put in the crock pot with 1 box of chicken broth 1 can of coca-Cola 1 bottle of dark beer 1 envelope of Onion soup mix . salt pepper let cook all night on low heat. the pike falls off the bone .. love watching your videos enjoy your weekend ..

Oh my! Your recipes sound tasty. And I love that you enjoy the tube sock curls. I agree that leftovers from soup, Thanksgiving, and meatloaf are awesome! I have not tried the macadamia nut. I will have to look at that. So sorry that you’ve had to deal with celiac… that’s terrible.☹️

We have always had, up until a few years ago, both a charcoal and gas grill. We used the gas grill on the wood deck. we had the charcoal grill on the concrete patio. the boys and their friends loved roasted marshmallows and having a "camp fire" they called it. they are now grown and the grill is done. I am thinking of getting a grill instead of a fire pit.

So, I was watching your video and interrupted it to go to aldi. I never go to aldi. Just because I don't really know their products also, because we have a lidl, which is very similar since they are both from Germany. So, went there, saw wath you call English cucumbers. In Portugal they are called sweet cucumbers ❤️
Found apple sauce, but it says on the jar that once it's open, it needs to be consumed in 24 hours. Is that really it, or does it last more?

    • @Thegrocerylady

My husband's family are all lactose intolerant. Our son however, had problems with milk so we tried lactose free milk (full fat), it did nothing to elevate the problem. We tried 2% milk and haven't had a problem. So he is milk fat intolerant, not lactose intolerant. This week we tried Goat Milk for the first time. It has the same amount of fat as whole milk, but his tummy tolerated it very well. I did put strawberry quik in it for him, because it does have a tangy taste to it if you aren't used to it. But he drank it no problem and didn't have the tummy troubles.

    • @Thegrocerylady
      @Thegrocerylady  2 роки тому

That’s awesome that goat’s milk doesn’t bother his stomach. 2% definitely doesn’t work for my daughter but I’m interested in finding some different options. 😊
