Definitely talented singers he can sing many styles but everyone opinion is different. I personally think he deserves to be in the top 5 best singers of rock/metal. :)
Esse era meu "remédio" contra o Grunge, por volta de 1995! (apesar de gostar do Alice in Chains e Soundgarden) essa fase da carreira do Faith no More foi musicalmente ótima!!!
The "King For A Day" album barely featured any tracks of Roddy playing keys on it while he took time off to address his personal issues. I think it's fucking awesome that they threw him in on 2nd guitar here upon his return and that he can't play it worth a shit! To not see the comedy in this as a FNM fan, I guarantee you're taking yourself far more seriously than these guys were by having him (attempt to) play guitar. Great song, classic footage. Yes, Roddy sucks on guitar... and it's fantastic.
Peter Roberts His dad died and he was really hard hit by Kurt Cobain's death in the lead up to recording KFAD. But unfortunately I have to agree with the sentiments regarding his performance here.
If you've seen Patton live then you know it's sometimes just as confusing how the F he's making the sounds he does as it is how he's doing it while moving around like that.
Ok Roddy, since there are no keyboards on this track will give you something else to play. This is a guitar, you strum up and down on it, and dance around a bit. Nobody will notice.
Why are people so shook about Roddy on guitar? Did nobody watch the official video for Digging the Grave?! Roddy was there "playing" guitar, go see it lmao Puffy is a freaking *beast* here, it's like him and Mike are in another band within this band. Can't help to wonder what the KDFL could've become with a great guitarist in their crew. Mike was on top of his vocal game but it seems that they lost creative momentum and just shovelled the closest guy that could make it till the deadline for the album. I like that album a lot even though a lot of songs there feel like it misses that punch. That they weren't brewed enough and the internal tensions got the most of them. It kinda sucks to see Dean in live shows of this era being as creative as a door knob on stage.
When you played the guitar or the bass in FNM in that era, you had move on stage, sure, but keep it restricted to leave a boulevard for Mike to bounce around like a wild animal :D
I'm fucking loving this cack-handed version with Roddy on guitar. I'm assuming that's Trey if he played on the album, but then I didn't know if he played any shows with them before they fell apart.
+TheDamirbojanic Me to man. I read that Bill played alot of guitar on the album. I know he played the solo in The Last To Know. My personal favorite by FAITH for so many reasons. Cheers.
TheDamirbojanic Negative. The other guitarist is Dean Menta. He toured with Faith and appeared in all the music videos involved with King For A Day. Definitely not Trey. He just laid guitar down for the album, but declined touring with the band in support of the album.
As much as I like Hudson I really wish Dean would have stuck around. I always wonder what an album with him in the studio would have sounded like. The guitar sound on both Duh! Albums is so unique.
They should have used the Sid Vicious mix for Roddy's guitar. He sucks so bad, it goes to show that his band mates really like him, by allowing his sound to be heard at all.
Phenomenal band, performance and singer. Great songs on king for a day, but it seems that they didn't wanted to be succesful anymore, because this song as a single is very uncommercial. Real thing was great, fun and very commercial in a great way, angel dust was a lot darker, king for a day got 1-2 soft moments, but it seemed that they didn't cared anylonger to be succesful? Between, i love king for a day
Angel dust was the album they sort of decided not to be very successful in a commercial sense , Although angel day did well everywhere except the United States .From what I read I believe they thought King for a day might have been their last album so they went all out on just making what they wanted rather than trying to be commercially successful .
Wish they had chosen a different song for the single. It's a solid track, just a little more orthodox than what they usually do. Even Ricochet would have worked better. Oh well FNM still rule the universe.
Mike Patton may end up being one of the best frontmen in all of rock history, that guy is crazy talented and works nonstop.
Pffffffff
@@pepperhead16 ???
Definitely talented singers he can sing many styles but everyone opinion is different. I personally think he deserves to be in the top 5 best singers of rock/metal. :)
Not really a debate is there. 6 octave innovating creating charismatic artistic clever bastard.
Simply GOAT. Period.
Faith No More at studio 10/10. Faith No More live performance 11/10.
"Patton really phones it in when he's on stage," said no one ever.
This is my favorite faith no more record. King for a day is amazing
I prefer angel dust but king for a day is amazing and every song is great
Every cd of faith no more is a masterpiece
Agree !
110% its epic!! no pun intended .
MIke Patton, man. Now that is a vocalist.
Hilarious when Stewart comes to shake Mikes hand at the end Mike wipes the spit off it!
I've attended many, many concerts. But none of them can match the experience I had when I watched these guys live. Their performance was mesmerizing.

Roddy is the man. Attitude.

centredivider Well fucking said.
+centredivider Thank you for the quality info. I was like, WTF, Roddy playing guitar. Everything you said is so true. FNM fans are a different breed.
What were his personal issues?
Peter Roberts His dad died and he was really hard hit by Kurt Cobain's death in the lead up to recording KFAD. But unfortunately I have to agree with the sentiments regarding his performance here.
he seems to did just fine here, guitar wise i mean
Simplarmente fueda!!!!!!
Roddy took his piano keyboard to the next level.
Remarkable Mike Patton
3:39 that handshake haha respect

LOL Roddy playin' guitar. What a lad. :)
That was how they did it.
Most underrated band ever 🎉

Why are people so shook about Roddy on guitar? Did nobody watch the official video for Digging the Grave?! Roddy was there "playing" guitar, go see it lmao

Hey, we got the same last name! !🙂😁

Should have been trey. He wrote better with their new sound than anyone else did. Alas....
at everyone saying Roddy can't play honestly he was probably high during this performance and didn't even know the song so lol
gods..
As much as I like Hudson I really wish Dean would have stuck around. I always wonder what an album with him in the studio would have sounded like. The guitar sound on both Duh! Albums is so unique.
Hubiera sonado mucho mejor con Jim M .para no entrar en discusiones.
Same here. I loved Deans stage presence but the story from FNM was that they had zero creativity with him trying to write.
They could beat up a guy a to death on Fifth Ave in NY and still be the greatest band in the world.
that is so fucking amazing. HUH.
No
🤘🤘🤘🤘
Best frontman is Mike Patton!!!
Brazuca escutando FNM, coisa rara!!! 👏👏👏
I remember watching this. Very cool, but I was pissed that the credits began rolling when they started to play EVIDENCE. Wtf, MTV?!!
Where is playback :)
Is that Roddy on guitar?
Everybody got haircuts except for the Puffster and Jim (who left/got kicked).
Looking like a bunch of rowdy cops on their day off. Digging it.
RODDY ON GUITAR ??? Cool!
It’s crazy how much these guys inspired incubus
funny thing is roddy played guitar for imperial teen
fuck.....míster voice!!
ruddy had to blow it on national tv :P
showwwww de peteca
Roddy play on guitar !!!!!Great rare show on tv
Live is better always..
Roddy on guitar??? Am I right??? If it's true, pretty cool thing!
Too bad he fucks up the entire song.
a little god
They should have used the Sid Vicious mix for Roddy's guitar. He sucks so bad, it goes to show that his band mates really like him, by allowing his sound to be heard at all.
I think his guitar in this has a raw sloppy punk energy and people are too fucking up tight.
Robert Downey Jr.’s doppelgänger.
Woah... Roddy should stick to the keys! He makes Dean sound competent by comparison.

Sound guy wasn't doing Roddy any favors lol
I dont remember in wich game they had this song
asdf852asdf Mtx Mototrax
asdf852asdf Rocksmith 2014 with the Faith No More DLC Pack.
Winning Eleven
Tony stark rocks!
He reminds me of Bam Margera alot.
I'm surprised he never threw up trying to push these vocals
This is Mike Patton. What he can do with his voice, others can only dream of.
No doubt, intentionally, he did at some point.
Wish they had chosen a different song for the single. It's a solid track, just a little more orthodox than what they usually do. Even Ricochet would have worked better. Oh well FNM still rule the universe.
chaosdecides Ricochet is my stuff! Sadly, they didn't play it in ATL this year :(
ontabettathings That show was awesome tho. The sunset at just the perfect moment.
They did play Ricochet on Conan, which is odd, you'd think they would have played Diggin the Grave or Evidence
Ever seen these guys....on weeeeed???
Roddy Button in guitar ; ultra rare trax
ya bought beetles songs for this?
Why isn't Jon Stewarts hair grey?
Because it was like 21 years ago?
+Benjamin Lash I signed in just to call you an idiot.
"gay"
6 years later and this comment is still as stupid as it was 6 years prior.

I didn't watch TV at this time and no internet. I had no idea Roddy played guitar during live performances. He sucks!
Cavando a cova
YAMAHA drum kit.. i ride a Yamaha.. thats the closest I'll ever come to beeing as cool as FNM :=))
Okay cmon FNM I love you but somebody here is fucking shit up and I'm pretty sure it's that other guitar guy.
madahope One of the guitarists are fucking up, and I honestly doubt it's Trey.
Forbelicious Trey left after the album was recorded, that's Dean Menta,
Well, something was messed up in the first chorus, and Roddy took a time-out to tune up during the second verse...
I think it's Roddy that's off-key; I'm also fairly certain he's high as a kite here...
Quick, someone spot the fan turned onto FNM by Korn.
we have to clone patricio
Featuring Robert Downey Jr on vocals
I take that as an insult.
The guitar is literally not that bad. It's not something to make a big deal out of
The Sloth. It’s quite terrible, actually. Better seen than heard (should’ve been buried in the mix).
