Yes, the fact that it took HOURS for the IDF to show up was just unbelievable. Hamas reportedly expected real resistance at the blockade fence and received little. There are cameras EVERYWHERE around Gaza, yet nobody in the IDF saw anything in time? It doesn't make sense.

I am sure they knew something. I had a friend in Israel. She was told by locals to leave three days early as there was concern about her safety. Three days after she left everything happened.

When discussing the October 7 tragedy, that Sunday (10/8) I said, that I would not be at all surprised to learn that Israeli intelligence knew of this plan, just as Roosevelt’s War time Administration had forewarning of the Japanese Empire’s attack on Pearl Harbor. Thus providing the USA justification to finally enter WWII. It would not be surprising, to later learn, that certain “rogue” far right Likud members of Israeli intelligence, “allowed” this horrendous attack by Hamas, to take place. Probably underestimated how large an attack it would be, but still using it as an excuse to attack Gaza, and secondly, to galvanize the country. Thus removing the focus off of Netanyahu’s corrupt government, and attempt to take over their Supreme Court.

Some Palestinians and Israelis support such a proposition. However, Israel is increasingly becoming radicalised and they want a Jewish state, which by default excludes non-Jews. Right-wing Israeli governments keep committing massacres against Palestinians and impose hard social and economic conditions on them to push them into poverty and elicit responses from them that the Israeli government can use to further oppress them. They also utilise the Palestinian responses to fuel their process of radicalising the Israeli community.
All this happens because Western countries continue to support Israel without any sort of accountability.

FYI: Gaza strip border is one of the most patrolled in the entire planet - with elite Israeli soldiers fully geared at all times - covered by satellite and security cameras 24/7 - yet, the day of the attack... despite the chaotic calls to military and local police - it took 7 hrs for them to respond.

1) IDF leaders were made aware of the discovery of the Hamas plan by this Israeli analyst but it was not taken as seriously as it should’ve been and dismissed-that was a serious mistake on the part of IDF and they were not adequately prepared on Oct 7;
2) for those who claim the Hamas attack never happened--this proves that Hamas extensively planned and executed the plan on Oct 7.
The consequences, in a nutshell:
1) IDF has acknowledged their failure and there will be an investigation and those guilty will have to answer for their failures;
2) Hamas is still guilty of committing a depraved terrorist attack, massacre, and took hostages as part of the plan, of victims that included citizens of the international community, and will have to deal with the consequences of that decision.
Final note: not quite believing that the U.S. had absolutely no knowledge of the Hamas plan….
But…all of the above does not exonerate Hamas’ decision to execute the plan.

I watched a video of Kibbutz Nir Oz (appx. 400 people) which showed the texts during the Hamas attack. The first notification telling them to "take cover in protected spaces" came at 6:30 am. Then as they wsuted fir hrlp to arrive the terror of nit being able yo contact their friends, of Hamas' guns shooting, of Hanas entering their hiding llaces, of tge buildings on fire, and finally silence in the Kibbutz by 1 pm, but the military didn't arrived til 3pm. What an insane postponment of military protection to deliver Israel's own citizens!
