As someone with autism, interviews are absolute hell. I've been studying tips and watching videos like I have an exam that's worth 90% of my grade for my imaginary class. Determining the hidden meanings behind these questions is incredibly difficult.
everyone struggles with this. You dont need to be autistic to be bad at interviews. Its not normal to ask a question and expect an answer that doesnt actually answers the question.

For question 3, the interviewers also try to see how good of a storyteller you are as a designer and if you engagingly summarise essential information. Love every second of this video by the way, with these great presentation skills! The elaboration on the two types of answers is just another level!

Great video! I loved the advice for answering "why do you want to work here?" and how you rephrased the answer to make it sound like you're offering something to the company instead of wanting to get something out of the company. I'll be referring to that part a lot!
This is brilliant thank you. I have an extremely important senior UX interview coming up soon and now I feel more confident in answering tricky questions like being honest when I made a mistake but how I resolved the problem.

Thank you for making this video! It really helped me prepare myself for some upcoming class assignments while also helping me for when I begin to apply to jobs in this area. I never thought about asking the employer to walk me through how projects normally go with the team. I can see how that would be pretty beneficial to see if you would work well if the process and people involved. I can see now that when people ask you a question they are not just asking you to answer it but also to expand upon it and respond with a question of your own.
I know this video is a year old but this is really helpful as I have an interview coming up on Monday for a Graphic/UI position. I'm watching different UX/UI videos for interview tips or how to improve portfolio and saving them in a playlist to refer back to.

Main takeaway is recruiters donc known how to ask a question in order to get the answer they want... Maybe it would be nice to have a video translating questions ? "Walk me through a particular project" translated into "What was your implication in this particular project?" The way it's presented in this video makes job seeker feel like they don't understand questions properly when really it's the recruiters that are not clear enough / Competent enough
I valued lot the answer about how to walk the interviewer through one case study in the portfolio. I also found the way you described a difficult challenge you faced in the past very practical.

Great tips! Regarding the question 2. I do agree that the two sentences state almost the same but the "...this is something where I feel like I can bring a lot to your team" part make it complete different in my opinion. I would understand that that candidate "can bring a lot" whereas in reality (s)he cannot because doesn't have enough experience, which is precisely the real intention, gain it. Could you elaborate further about this expectation vs reality mismatching Thank you!
Thanks for the video! My upcoming interview will showing me a Wireframe in real time and then ask me to gather all the requirements in the form of User Stories in real time during the interview itself and then write the acceptance criteria for specific User Stories. Is there a good recommended video for this?
Apply somewhere else. I have nothing against exercises (in fact, I'd rather do exercises than talk bullshit the whole time), but I don't like the feel of this one. I think it's the rote, formulaic nature of it. I could be wrong, but it sounds like they want their designers to be robots. "Do task 1! Do task 2! Do task 3!" A good exercise is more like, "Here's a situation/problem. We're looking for results in the form of simplistic wireframes and flows, just enough to get ideas across. We'll give you 10 minutes for you to come up with them and then explain the process that led to them."
@@noeticjustice1535 this is a common scenario in interviews and it’s not bad. This is to understand how you brainstorm and how good you are at finding solutions. They won’t care about the accuracy rather will see how you think
@@JahidulIslam-fu5gu Everything you said is technically true, but only within the confines of how they dictate you do things (so in effect, not true). These are not people prepared to innovate in their processes or thought patterns. They have a way of doing things, and they want to judge how well people perform within that delineation. Not exactly a company with a growth mindset. "We want to find out how creative you are, so please fill out forms A, B, and C to the best of your ability. Aaaand, go!"

why isn't there a UI interview when you are offering the same course separately? is the field of UI so small that people don't get jobs in UI?
