I have been increasing the tempo on my piano for the last 4 hours and still have not received my free microphone. You might wonder how I'm typing while doing that. Well, I can explain all that after you send me my fancy mic.
Regarding your channel, I'm just here for the interesting thoughts and views on music. Do what you've gotta do. Always best to do what you enjoy.
I think the most important point is to have a vision for what you want to achieve. It's a lot easier to build a sound you have in your head that to be an abstract 'good' sound.

I have a crummy Sampson mic that has zero bass, weird mids, it's brittle and harsh and distorts, and it's the first mic I grab if I want to do a lofi AM radio vocal effect. And even then, it's not always the right choice. Context is key, and yep there's no best mic.
