Metal Powder Filling Line

The video shows a system for filling containers or bottles with metal powder, e.g. for additive manufacturing. Such filling systems are used by metal powder manufacturers who use them to supply their customers.
The system first floods the bottles with an inert gas (e.g. argon or nitrogen), then fills them with metal powder and closes the container with a screw lid.
The empty containers are weighed directly before filling (net weight). During filling, the weight is measured continuously and the dosage is adjusted to the gross weight. This tare weighing ensures exact filling within the specified target weight limits.
The video shows the filling of stainless steel powder. The weight specification is 10 kg with a tolerance of 0 to 50 grams. The metal powder is supplied to the system in an IBC container, for example, and conveyed to the filling system by vacuum conveying.
Metal powder dusts can lead to dust explosions. Safe handling of the powder is ensured by designing the system accordingly and using ATEX-certified vacuum conveyors.
